  • n64 FTW

  • i used to have this game for my ds then i lost it and I'm so mad i did because i miss it so much and i used to suck at video games but I've gotten better so i'd probably rock at this now.... if only i still had it...

  • Okay for me :)

  • 64 version is better.

  • Wheres Conker?

  • brings back happy memories from my childhood, N64 for eva!

  • This game was a piece of shit.

It really shows how much the Donkey Kong series depended on RARE.

  • @ScatmanKirby DDR was originally an N64 game. Both it and this port are 100% Rare and it is most definitely NOT a bad game, let alone a piece of shit.

  • @Lioyd1rving

Haha, you talk like I didn't grow up with this game.

I played this throughout my childhood and I still play it. I know that the DS port sucks.

  • @ScatmanKirby Then I call nostalgia goggles. For a handheld port, it holds up.

  • @Lioyd1rving

The DS doesn't deserve to render 3D.

  • @ScatmanKirby If so, then neither did the PSX.

  • @Lioyd1rving

    That's totally illogical.

Times were different then. 3D wasn't as advanced.

The DS doesn't meet with current-day standards, or at least not mine.

  • @ScatmanKirby And the Gameboy didn't even have color display...

  • @Lioyd1rving

Again, it was good for its time.

  • @ScatmanKirby And so was the DS, when you consider the production costs. I personally consider the PSP to be to the DS what the Neo Geo was to the SNES. (Except for the "horribly underrated" part.)

  • @Lioyd1rving

The DS is a Game Boy Advance with primitive 3D.

Kinda like how the Wii is a Gamecube with motion control.

I mean for god's sake they could've done better. Sony did with the PSP.

  • @ScatmanKirby They definitely could've, but again, production costs -- with two displays and a touch screen to handle, making it look as good as a PSP would probably need much more expensive hardware, and the DS's relatively low price was arguably a key factor in its success.

  • @Lioyd1rving

They could've at least made it look as good as the Nintendo 64.

  • @ScatmanKirby well they fixed that with the 3ds

  • @zack79503Lp

Yeah but the 3DS is still the most underpowered system out there atm (not counting the DS or PSP), right next to the Wii.

  • @ScatmanKirby its a bit more powerful than the wii

  • @ScatmanKirby 3DS is a handheld, its 2-3x more powerful than Wii and can run all the current gen shaders aswell. Resident Evil Mercenaries was a quick port job with quite a few bugs and is clearly unfinished but it looks nearly as good as the ps3/360 RE5, Revelations will look just as good. The 3DS features dual core Arm 11s, a custom PicaGPU and 128mb ram - It's damn powerful handheld and is a more than capable machine - there is simply no games taking advantage of it ATM.

  • @liveswired

You do realize that 128 megs of ram is pitiful, right?

  • @liveswired Mercs didn't have RE5 graphics, it had RE4 graphics. It's just that RE4 was on the GCN/PS3 so the quality wasn't as high as it should have been. With the 3DS they were able to reuse the same graphics but they were able to make the graphics fit the 3DS screen to keep the quality high.

The 3DS isn't as strong as the 360/never will be, but they can still make games look nice simply by making the graphics to fit it's screen. No upscaling, and no blur. It's not problem.

  • @ScatmanKirby you dont see the 3ds ?

  • what if thay made a game called diddy kong 64 where king k.rool and wizpig team up and thay try to rule the world and diddy kong has to stop them. sound good?

  • Nintendo 64 version is so much better.

  • yeah it was fun on the 64!...i cant wait till i get it and the dsi

  • is this game fun??

  • if u liked the n64 version and if u dont have it tits still awsome ima get this soon
