  • My wife and I took this trip from St. Paul to Seattle. We think the most scenic area was western Montana into Idaho. After touring the Pacific northwest down to the California redwoods, we returned back to Seattle after a week. Returning home on Amtrak. Good stuff.

  • What audio

  • how is the economy in montana

  • Best train ride for the scenery in the country. I love it. I took it from MT to Seattle. Would love to do it again.

  • The good old days!

  • Where you going eastbound or westbound when this was shot?

  • @jpsmith81 Eastbound leaving Montana going back to the south.

  • I love this song and I love these views. I was thinking about taking this train and I think this video makes me want to go sooner rather than later. What time of the year do you recommend I go? I'm assuming this was taken in the winter and it looks beautiful.

  • @jpsmith81 If you want to get the most out of your trip, meaning being able to see more of the mountains, then go in summer. Best time would be from Mid July to Late August. It usually starts to snow up in the mountains early. In fact, they already got some snow at logans pass in glacier park this past week. So it's only open for a very short time in summer. If winter if your thing, then pretty much anytime after September through April/May.

  • I love this song.Ontario canada.

  • @TheWadejones Depends on if you want to live in montana. :o)

You would have to get accustomed to the winters in montana and they can be pretty brutal.

  • MUCH prefer Yellowstone National Park!

  • Nice vid!

  • Living in snow made me batty (I'm a wuss and I know it), but seeing it like this with all those trees along the mountainside just makes sense to me.

  • I took the Empire Builder from Chicago to Seattle in July of 2009...Montana was the best part...beautiful mountains, etc. Would like to go in the winter sometime. Thanks for sharing your vidoes.

  • This will sound silly...but if the train went off the tracks...you should have a bug out/ survival bag...Be prepared...It's looks like total woods and mountains..beautiful but hard to survive.

    God Bless

  • Actually this is a smart idea. And yes, I had one prepared with me, just in case. :o)
