Texas should first print it's own currency. The U.S. Dollar is fading away and there is NO law that prohibits the creation of a separate currency. cities in the east have already started this to boost the local economy and it works. Back the new Texas currency with precious metals and sit back and watch the rest of the country run to the new Texas Dollar. It would be amazing to see this happen in the next few years. Simply false. That question was answered in 1865. In addition, as Farron pointed out, there never was a special agreement regarding secession.

In fact Texas was lucky. Two previous attempts to join the Union failed. A then President-Elect Polk, who was sympathetic to Texas annexation, arranged a Joint Resolution to do it.
