U cannot get this home beta unless you are given a invitation by sony. They got a certain number of people on the beta already, so u ain't going to see the downloadable content on PS3 network store until the real thing comeout this spring.(We all know that it sucks we have to wait)

Am sorry but they will not have this free forever, how do they make a profit from it? It dosen't make any sense, am sorry but no one is going to run out the house and buy a PS3 worth about £300 just for a virtual chat room.

how do they make a profit off of it? Well first of all home leads to people buying playstation 3 --> which costs quite a bit. Home also stimulizes people into buying multiplayer and online games. Free Home will make an obvious difference between Xbox (waste of money) in which you have to pay, and Ps3's home which is 100% free. Also Home isn't like a game it leads to people playing games. So nobody is going to buy a ps3 for a virtual chat room. You obviously don't understand what's going on here.

also it's not completely free. it's kind of like many of the mmorpgs out there like maplestory, gunbound, gunz, silkroad and stuff like that where the game is free but if u want to stand out by wearing cool clothes and extra items you can buy them from the ps3 store. Right now there is a closed beta but you can´t subscribe anymore, But there will be a open beta l8r this year, if everything goes like planed they will release it in oktober if I´m right so in this sommer they will lanch the open beta =D
