Ricky, Billy, Tommy, Mark, you can't just turn it off. When it grabs you, like this, you have to get out of bed at 3am and write some more. A reunion tour? Yeah right. Getting WH to do that is like getting Led Zeppelin to do a reunion tour. File that under "This Never Happens".
Christian music needs more bands this. There's only a period of about 10 years that had good Christian rock... Now most of what you hear on Christian radio is pretty crap where all the songs sound the same.
Man!!!!!!!! Back in the day we would rush the stage and be all over the place during a White Heart or Mylon and Broken Heart concert. I look at videos today and most Christians look as if they're scared to move or can't do anything but lift their hands!! Where's the radical saints??
Rick sounds absolutely amazing - the band sounds as good, or maybe even better than when they recorded this song. The Freedom album came out when I was a junior in high school, and absolutely changed the way I listened to music. I was actually at work today listening to my ipod, and Over Me came on, and I realized it's been about a year since I listened to any Whiteheart. That entire album still stands up after all these years. I think I'll listen to the whole ablum at work tomorrow.
My first Christian rock band. My first rock album was "Tales of Wonder" and greatly expanded my WHiteHeart collection since. Listened to these guys REGULARLY since at least early high school, probably more like middle school (I am a senior in college now).
Their lyrics are often quite profound, and the music is just gold, a product of real talent. I'm jealous that my mother saw them when I was too young, lol.
Great song and band! I always read what everyone has to so and I am never surprised except for those of you who substitute a very foul word with the new version of the same word (FREAKIN) Its not what goes into our mouths that is unclean! Think about IT
Whiteheart was the best rock and roll Christian band period. I got into them with Powerhouse after seeing videos on the Inspiration channel in the 90's. They had video shows that were on most of the night from Friday night till Sat morning. Love everything but Highlands and Tales of Wonder are my favorites. Wish they would play around here. I've seen several times and each time they rocked my heart and my head. They are what all Christian bands should be. Lyrically and musically they are Fab
Last time I saw these guys was on the Inside Tour at Jesus Northwest um 96 I think it was. They rocked saw em before that well heard em I was back at our campsite they was on the Powerhouse slash Tales of Wonder Tour in 94. Either way they rocked it up both times. If they band didn't get back together don't matter I'd like to buy the resale rights and get the permission to sing their songs in concerts etc. Any one in? Drummers, keys, vocals, Guitars.
Wow, Rick Florian is still a major hottie....have crushed on him since I was a teen!!! his voice is so amazing! kinda sounds like jared leto...but jared isn't as smooth...
My grandma brought them in '92(tales of wonder) I never got to see them but I have listened and played drums to them before I could walk and they're my dads favorite. My dads first album after he got saved was Powerhouse. If the they have a reunion tour want nobody but John knox on drums. Hes one of the greatest of all time.
Agree, they do a reunion concert and I'm there, guaranteed.. along with our kids. My 3yr old loves to sing Freedom, Desert Rose and 'Power in the House' (: Rick and Whiteheart are simply the best!
Wow! Can't believe I never heard of this White Heart reunion performance until today! Yes, wouldn't a reunion tour be awesome? ***Sure wish the video could be fixed... audio/video sync is about 3 seconds off.***
Few band could come back almost 20 year later and pull off a performance of a song with such Intensity of performance. Hats off to you guys. Rick you are freakin awesome!
hello speaking of the best christian rock band stryper is releasing a new album called death by pride.. also micheal sweets wife passed away on thursday, pray for them
I'd say it's beyond time for a reunion tour....what do you guys all say? I'd go see em and take my kids too. C'mon Whiteheart!! We want to see you again!!!
Yeah, still able to blow the audience away. I watch this video at least once a day. I thank God I was blessed to be able to see them back in the day. I miss them.
That's just awesome. A song from 1989 sounds just as fresh as if it was written yesterday. And to perform it without a sound check or practice after 15 years?? These guys are just amazing, every single one of them.
Totally awesome! Rick still has that great voice and all his moves! All the guys still got it. I used to go see them in concert all the time, absolutely loved them and their music then - still do. A reunion tour would be really cool!
I gotta say I never seen white heart in concert but they are a great band, most of my albums are from the 80's of the big christian rock bands of that era. I have seen alot of bands that i remember from the 80's and 90's, they sound better than the rock that is being played today, I wish i could go back in time and see them again.
I was there during this performance. Thanks for posting as I never did see this on tv(as I expected I would).
I had not heard this song before this performance(I was there mainly to see BarlowGirl and Rebecca St. James). Despite not having the best seats, my nephew and I were really impressed by this incredible performance by White Heart. They showed they are really good musicians. And Rick Florian sang with alot of heart.
This is Awesome - We didn't know Whiteheart had performed at all in the past few years. I've known Rick since our college years together and it's great to see these guys together. I hope at some point, my daughter gets to see Whiteheart live in concert because she loves their music too!
My son is turning 17 next month. I was running with his Mom, while he was still in her womb back in 1991 to see White Heart's concert. If I remember correctly this was at Six Flags Theme Park. I also saw them at Disneyland at the come from underground stage.
They sounded REALLY good for being apart for so long, nothing was lacking at all!!! Gordon Kennedy is one of the greats in the guitar world and one whale of a song writer!!!
Whiteheart is hands down the best Chritian Band ever!! I liked them from the beginning in the early 80's but Rick's voice brought it all to the pinnacle. Freedom is also my favorite of their projects. It's been hard for me to get into Christian music since they retired. Nobody comes anywhere close to sounding and writing as good as they did. They were the TOTAL Package!! God Bless all you guys!
Ive known your "dad", met him, know full well what he does now. I am not picking a fight with you, just saddened his humility didnt follow in your response. God Bless Rick and his family, Whiteheart is and was an awesome band!
Nice you were able to get Gordon and Tommy, I'm sure it wasn't easy with Gord's writing gigs and Tommy's live work. BTW, Jon still listen to your OLD band often. ("Johnny Knox on the hype kick drum laying the beat so thick..")
WOW!!! I just found this clip by happenstance today and.... not only did it take me back to when Freedom first came out, but to see my heroes on stage again and to hear Rick sound sooooo good after all these years.... just... cold chills.
Jon Knox.... you are amazing, sir. This particular line is PERFECT with you behind the kit.
Thanks SO MUCH Jon!!! I've been a White Heart fan since the Steve Green day's. So great to see you guys in that reunion - especially with Gordon and Tommy! White Heart ROCKS!!! Thanks again Jon, God bless ya!
"Freedom" is still my favourite rock album in the christian scene 19 yrs later! Would love to see a reunion album. Great seeing Gordon Kennedy back on guitar and Tommy Sims again.... Saw them in Australia twice and loved it!.... Anyone know if Mark Gersmehl has done another solo album since his 2002 cd?
Dang, these guys can still rock out. They seriously should get back together for some more albums. Freedom is one of my top 10 albums of all time. I had a ticket to see them on their Tales of Wonder tour and my car broke down on the way to the show. One of the saddest days of my youth. White Heart was a big part of my high school and college years. I have a lot of respect for them. Rock on, guys!
Absolutely priceless stuff...Reminds me of our trips over to Holland and Germany in the early 90's for some great WH gigs.. Come on fellas, the time is right for a re-union.. I mean...if it's good enough for the Spoice Girls!!!!!!
As a teenager Whiteheart's music spoke deeply to my soul. Their ministry still stands as an example of achieving balance on the spectrum between artistry and worship. I really miss these guys. Thanks for the post.
