Dreamweaver CS3 - Spry - Drop Down Menu

As a web designer you should know the best about why not to use that god-ridden software that some people call 'a browser' - IE, especially in tutorials....

Just use Firefox, Opera, Safari, or whatever else that just follows the webstandards set by W3 and does NOT create it's own and expects other to use them...

Thanks but I know what I'm doing, Dreamweaver had IE as my default browser when you use the preview shortcut. When doing clients work I always make sure my work is the same on all popular browsers. For tutorials I really don't care what browser I use for previewing, for small projects like a menu bar in most cases it is rendered the same in all browsers anyway.

you've deleted background image or color (which is allready set), i forgot.. but, the point is that there has to be something. There has to be a background image or backgorund color, so just mark one and "false" should dissapear

You can't drag and drop elements in Dreamweaver, but what you can do it place elements in divs and apply styles to those divs to place them where you want. I recommend you learn CSS. Yeah, it's a pain, but that's web design.

Your obviously not a web developer because spry menu bars are a lot better then flash, you just need to know hoe to style them with CSS.

I got a spry menu working awesome, i even previewed it in i.e and firefox and it looks and works great.

But when i go to my website, the pag eis there but the spry menu isn't. Its just a list of word swhich i've used for the titles of each button. Any idea why?

You know how the cursor rolls over the box, and the box changes colour to Blue, how can you change the colour?

'Customise this widget' on properties panel. But you'll need to know CSS. It really is worth mastering css eventhough DWCS3 is a WYSIWYG application

Where you change the background colour instead click the drop down below the properties click on backgorund image and add a background image. Easy!

The same way you uploaded your page. The folder it made containing the css and so on can be uploaded the same way. You can zip the folder and then extract it on your server or cpanel or what ever you use to store your website online.

k here is the thing, I create a document, I insert a dropdoen menu, I save page as html, I upload that file in my server.. Once I have done this everything else shows right (picturs and info and all) except the dropdown menu that shows up as bullet form? If I choose to preview in explorer it works, but on my server, seems like something is missing...

The drop downs menu's files will always be were u have saved the document, the folder is is called something like spry assets. It has to be somewhere on your computer otherwise it will not show up when you preview. When you find the files uploaded them to the server like you did with the html page. If you can't find the spry assets you may have to re-make the drop down menu and where ever you save the document you files will be with it.

Question: whenever i try to view my site, the little bar at the top of the window that says "Int Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content" always shows up, and you have to click OK for it to display all the bottons and icons. Is there a way to get rid of this bar and have it display my bottons without having to click "OK" every time?

I hate that, and I have no idea how to get rid of it, there should be something in the settings. When previewing websites I use firefox which doesn't do that.

underneath where you change the colours in 'ul.menubarvertical a' there is two other options where you can change the colours. Use the same colour in that. It's to do with the way IE6&7 read the code.
