Well, here is hoping that after A-HA completes their farewell tour "Ending On A High Note" this year... Morten will be forth coming with a new solo album. His voice has not sounding this GOOD in years... it would be shame if he retired, but my feelings are we have not heard or seen the last of Morten Harket! It would also be great if he would continue with his budding acting career... can you just see that face on the big movie screen?!?!?!? Warmest regards, Kay

rocktenniscat: He is the singer in the Norwegian band A-ha. The group had the world hit "Take on me" in the eighties. You sure have heard that? They've been around for 25 years now. He also has been a solo artist for many years.. A-ha has a big hit with "Foot of the mountain" this year, check it out :) The sad thing is that A-ha announced their retirement about a month ago :*(

Thanks for the info. I LOVED "Take on Me". What a great voice! Amazing range. Memorable video too - half animated/half live action. A charming but rocking song.

I read a lot of rock and roll history books, and Scandinavian countries give the most amazing welcomes to all kinds of Rock Bands - Led Zeppelin Mott the Hoople, blues bands, etc. Jazz bands too.

By the way, I like the Cocktail Slippers. Do you know their music?

Thank you for sharing this. I bought the album (just discovered it was even releasted...I live in a virtual vacuum I am starting to believe) and am waiting with bated breath for the mail to arrive. Until then, I can listen here. Without your help...I would be sadly deprived. This is a great song. I agree with Norskygirl that his lower range vocals are very sexy. I do love it when he throws in different ranges interchangeably too..but, many songs are not conducive to this I think. God bless.

You are right on the button... I love this song! It is one of my all time favorite songs of Morten's! It is such a shame that most Americans have no idea what a great solo artists he is... damn, they don't even know how great A-HA has been the last 25 years! I love Morten's high register, but I really love his deep, mellow, sensual lower register! This song should have been a hit! He will go down as one of the greatests singers ever!! Cannot wait to see him/them in the USA in March 2010!!!!

In Brazil the aha has the largest public record (Rock in Rio . I watched the season two shows in São Paulo. I was crazy about them. However the record company did not disclose their work here as they deserved. I feel guilty because even with the internet and listening from time to time your hits just last year I was searching for what they have done since then. To my surprise they continued to make great music . My consolation is that they will play here in March.

Yes, I know about the attendance record they set in Rock'n Rio & it is a shame that more people are not aware of how great this band really is. I too lost track of them in the 90's (they just disappeared in the USA) & was totally surprised to find A-HA again & all of Morten's solo stuff in 2002. Like you I am giddy with excitement that I have tickets for the two shows they are doing in Los Angeles in May. I wish they were doing more shows here in the USA like Brazil! Have fun
