@S1D3K1CK11 how does he not use his feet? you have no clue. he has one of the better landings and actively pulls his bum into the whole his feet make.
how can you say he is a "slower" jumper. 10.48 windy as a junior! as he has said, its controlled speed. plus i am a junior running much much slower than 10.48 and can still jump far speed isnt critical.
Lapierre has the type of form where it's speed is a bit deceptive, but he definitely put some behind that jump. His last 4-5 steps into the jump wasn't slow at all.
lol! So you can reply...There it is then. nothing i said wasn't true. If fact, you just said exactly what i've been saying since i posted on this jump. I am not an expert of your jumping, but i can read and analyse data. You've jumped 8.20m before running 9.8 m/s...pretty amazing.
Your a great jumper dude as i said, but why the "thinks he's an expert comment"????? i've said nothing which isn't true.
it was exactly 9.91 slowing down from 10.25, which could have been due to pre jump preparation, cause all his other jump where from 10.16-10.29. so please dont built rumours. so with that immens backwind, 10.7 isnt that unusual. let me tell you that leonid voloshin reached 8,46m with only 10m/s back in 1988. you are right, 10.2-10.3 isnt that high for a world class jumper, but you dont know anything about his speed abilities, cause all jumpers approach with submax speed.
@Stafanitus of course it was pre jump prep, with that much vertical lift! obviously speed slows down. Again, i said nothing which wasn't true and nothing again Fabrice. He is a fantastic athlete clearly. All the research you've done, i've done. Trust me.
but not deep enough. first you spoke of 9.8 which isnt true at all. second you picked one single jump, where he lost 0.34 on 5 meters, whereas the average of all others is 0.025. thats more than 10 times as much, which leads to the conclusion, that something was special there. might even be mistaken data? and if you then take a closer look at the specific speeds of his last 3 strides (10.30/10.33/10.28) =10.305, its quite obvious, that this 9.91 is simply a mistake. dont buy all info.
@Stafanitus i'm sorry but i have more than 6 different competition data sets on fabrice and over 20 different jumps. On many occasions he has jumped over 8 meters while running under 10.2 m/s during his last 5 meters...during the data i have he has only jumped from 10.4 m/s or greater 3 times...and they were not his best jumps...Also the 9.8 m/s 8.20m is perfectly true.
no need to talk it out here. you can refer to every data you have, if you like. i did say nothing more than that you are wrong telling he approached with 9.8m at the worlds jumping 8.20m out of that. and if you have 20 jumpdatas of a jumper that regulary doesnt slow down much and then believe in a 0.34 gap on a solid jump, what is there more to say about. you dont recognize that there obviously must be something wrong. i cant remember any world class athlete slowing down that much.
@Stafanitus I have seen certain jumpers slow down that much on a few jumps but not on most of their jumps.... Having said that, i've never seen another jumper consistently get the height that Fabrice gets.... therefore i can see why he slows down a lot at takeoff because so much of his horizontal speed is converted to vertical speed.
off only 18 strides!!!!????? Phillips, Saladino, Howe use 23, Powell and Lewis used ????? 22,24 ? AND Fabrice isn't very fast...i just don't know how he does it. Amazing though. A meter further than my best! jeeez
@jumperuk errm he is fast, i dont know his exact times but he was winning national youth/junior championships in the 100m, with times in the mid 10-sec. range
@gregaths2016 He isn't fast (on the runway) compared with other jumpers jumping the same distance. Most of his jumps are between 10 - 10.3 m/s. During worlds he jumped 8.20m running 9.8 m/s which is incredible and he's the only jumper i've ever seen jump that far running that slow. It's pretty amazing.
windy or not windy...this is enormous! The great Carl Lewis jumped windy that night when he and Mike Powell beat Bob Beamon's record. This guy is going to get better and better, my tip is he will sneak up on that record! Anything is possible
@Vexehfy what i mean is if he extended his feet a little longer if would've delayed the time for his ass to touch the sand
