  • These are rich people, Richness in ideas is true wealth and saves others the pollution

  • Not a new invention. I've seen this done with jars and bottles in Cabin without power over 20 years ago.

  • Pretty clever.

  • Interesting innovation.

  • Otro video increible os lo recomiendo! "Hacienda somos todos viral"

  • Otro video increible os lo recomiendo!

  • What if the power goes out at night?!

  • Love it!

  • wow

  • Very clever! Use what you have onhand - this is an excellent idea nd while it may not work at night, look at how much money and benefit is had from its use. Thanks for posting this! : )

  • Very nice idea! The only problem: Once it is dark outside, it's gonna be dark inside as well.

  • @TheForce74 That's right. The lights automatically turn off when the Sun goes down. That could encourage one to get some shut-eye. That's the way Nature intended.

  • The inventor is on coke.

  • What about the hole you make in the ceiling? Isn't that bad when it rains?

  • @iSuperGeek no its sealed with silicone or a caulking

  • @silentknight2112 Ahh, neat.

  • great! such innovative ideas are the future of our planet :D

  • algea would make the light a party green color for the rooms... what about food coloring and make some red and some blue now that would be cool

  • ive got 6 feet of snow on my roof

  • lol nice , sucks when its cloudy outside, everything has its positive side and negetive side.

  • This is pretty clever and inexpensive solution.

  • i hope they doesnt burn out!lol

  • that is so cool :O

i wonder >_> *looks at roof gets a drill*

  • Chloride he sad ,read carefully

  • WTF language is that?

  • BRAZILIAN PORTUGUESE

  • wow they,ve invevented a crappy sky light.

  • Awesome. I love the idea. Anything to cut back on heat and electricity is wonderful progress.

  • sweeeet :O

  • The only problem I see is that rain will seep in and this will only work in places that do not have freezing temperatures and only on tin type roofs. I bet those roofs get hot and reflect that heat within the room below. Any savings over lighting is probably eaten up by fans or air conditioning to cool these rooms. Good idea though! Similar to the deck prisms of old time ships. Look into them if you are interested.

  • nossa quanto ódio hein...

  • Brilliant - TRUE innovation - very cleaver idea Congratulations

  • whhoooww cooooollllllll

  • oh man it wont work at night

  • In Iraq the Marines put a chem. Light inside of water bottles at night- it does give off more light- also Infrared Chem. lights- you can see the difference with night vision goggles-Kids Silly String is used to find trip wires in doorways; Improvise- Adapt- and Over Come

Murphys Law of Combat- if it looks stupid but works- it aint so #$%@ Stupid.

  • practical. ideal for those who can not afford ectricity in those countries.even reduces the heat factor of the standard incandesant light bulb which was a useless mode of lighting.

seems to of coverd most issues.

give the guy 10 out of 10.

  • 9/10 because at night they dont work.

  • i dont know wat they're gonna do when it rains...

  • Umm... so this guy 'invented' plastic skylights.

    Where's the big innovation?

  • Great idea, but what about when the water starts to mold? Yuck!

  • That's why they put Chlorine on the water before. I heard it lasts 4 years.

  • O that makes sence!!! Nice Vid

  • he adds chloride to prevent it.

  • @NickStick02 naturally you didn't understand what they were saying but they said they treated the water in a way that didn't happen ;)

  • @NickStick02 ups I didn't even notice the subtitles, nevermind what I wrote lol

  • @NickStick02 YOu could add crystal energy and the water would not mold.

  • This is a really great idea. I've had plenty of apartments where the daytime lighting was simply Awful, and I couldn't afford a better place.

Makes me wonder if they could be oriented differently using mirrors.

  • its a good idea, but the main purpose for lights is to light up the area when its night time..

  • Indeed, but think in the energy that can be saved illuminating building during day time, i dont know if u noticed but all offices have their light on during th e day because is imposible to use natural light in most areas. Long time ago i so a simlar solution using optic fiber, wich is more apropiate for multiple floor building. The good thing about this idea is that is cheap and easy to intall. Specialy important for poor people houses and large 1 level warehouses, workshops, etc.

  • open windows and doors can cause u some light also ...

  • O.K.--- So it only works in daytime; sort of like a light pipe.

  • Yes, but it work better because teh water inside the bottle distributes teh light more like a traditional lightbulb.

  • you can also piss in the bottle for a nice golden glow...lol

  • brilliant, right brilliant actually.

  • Wlel, there is a disadvantage. Let's say it's a stormy day. Well, wit no light from out side, boom! dark! And, if it gets dark early, well, boom! dark again. See?

  • that's when you start using the energy you've been makeing with your solar pannels.. everything adds up and saves. layers and combinations of technology and solutions to problems and waste slowly dissapears.

  • Ok, so the only way this works is in the daytime, when you dont really need lights anyway? Great idea.

  • Um, it lights the inside, comedy genius. Imagine being poor for a second.

  • You do, inside and for the nights, just save up energy with solar pannels.

  • great thing to share should we all be a bit greener

  • Useless when dark :(

  • This is sooo cool. I'm gonna do that with my tool shed. Dang this is cool.

  • cool

    :)

  • that would work well in a tropical or subtropical climate, but would be useless anywhere it freezes in the winter

  • i am putting these in our shed !!! what a fantastic idea :)..they only disadvantage i can think is what about when it rains?? Your roof would leak heaps !!!

  • Look at the film again. They're using a sealant to keep out the rain.

  • Dude, you use sealant to keep the bottle in place AND prevent leaking.

  • That is fantastic! -Derek

  • good idea!

  • INCREDIBILE!!!

  • Endless possibilities coming from good people.

Endless problems coming from the planetary rulers.

  • Great idea!

  • Ingenius, I love it!

  • what if it rains?

  • Now that's what i call being "green" or clear... whatever works for you.

    Great Idea!

  • BECAUSE THEY CAN NOT AFFORD IT! Did he not just say that

  • I'm aware of that, but why not just use acrylic instead. less likely to get leaks when it rains.

  • You could get the same results with clear plastic sheathing, it's called skylight...duh

  • Try to sell a skylight to someone that makes $100 per month. That's is the minimum wage in Brazil

  • $ 282.23

  • @scramignon skylight is free :) but it seems to work better than just living the spots on the roof open to let the sun light in ...

  • @scramignon isn`t 200 - 250 per month!?

  • @scramignon A lot of people are just dumb.

  • @Isaidsohaha The point is cost. Skylights are EX{PENSIVE DUH

  • @Isaidsohaha it can light the room 360 degrees by the refraction of light coz of water.

  • Freakin Excellent....I'm putting this system into our storage shed today....

  • That is actually a wonderful idea. It would sure help reduce the electricity bill during the day.

  • hmmmm we call them sky lights..

Been around about 100000000000000 years..Cgeap way out though..

    cheers

  • ever heard of ALGAE, guys?

  • Chloride..

  • That's why they said they put chlorine in the water.

  • Chlorine! OF COURSE! I must have been tired. Nice, though, and now I want to try it in the caribbean. Wouldn't work up here, though. Chicagoland is WAY too cold!

  • la tecnologia mas simple que he visto y funciona

  • Great!

  • Awesome...just worried about how they would stand up to a fierce midwestern hail storm. Might be worth developing something a little more storm or weather hardy.

  • Cheap and exceedingly effective. I love it! After I try it out locally, I'll tell you how it works in sub-zero climates (expansion problems, etc.).

  • No reason anti-freeze couldn't be added, I suppose. And for that matter, food colouring for coloured lights.

  • Simply Excellent !

  • Works like the ships prism's, not very new tech BUT great idea because of it's reduction of plastic bottles and canisters into the environment AND anyone can produce them! Bravo!

  • Look out for 'light pipes' for a similar idea.

  • How did he get this brilliant idea?

  • im suprised that the US government hasnt intervened and bombed the villiage!

  • hehehe classic dry humor. love it!

  • @sim0b i would totally use this, but it requires a hole in your roof, right? aw....something greener than LED bulbs and they're not "convenient" enough for the world

  • This is Super! Brilliant!

  • Light bars.

  • yeah baby,yeah.

  • this is far from nwe invention.. Afrakan ancestors developed that action geared to the pyramids.. light reflecting from the sun in the back rooms of pyramids.. Hotep !! KNOW THYSELF!!

  • wait til it rains it wont be so great any more

  • great :)

  • cool..

  • now thats inventive!

  • What happens on cloudy or rainy days? Are they still as bright?

  • Oh great! He's discovered the skylight!

  • The second really free energy light source

    after windows.......well done.

  • That is a brilliant idea. It is automatic and requires almost no maintenance. I hope he has a patent on this.

  • genial! Very simple and smart!

  • er, just for the record, thats not a brazillian invention, it was created about 200 years ago by the British, by using different coloured wine bottles to create a different lighting mood, so that they could grow plants indoors.

sorry, but its a british invention not brazillian.

  • Thank the British then for giving the world such an amazing, cheap, practical and efficient invention. Now the whole world can beneficiate from it.

    Peace...

  • wouldnt the coloring decrease the amount of light?

  • I think he did not worried about "guinness book", He wanted a practice ways of saving the bills. Inventor or not, this is a good idea!

    my english is crap. rsrs

  • Actually, this Brazilian invented this without any British influence - so there's no point in taking anything away from his discovery. Ever hear of Deck Prisms? In use for centuries.

  • good point, thanks didn't mean any offence by it just pointing out that britain had been using it for years!

  • Yes, the idea per se is nothing new, the real punch is that is done with cheap materials and can be easy homemade by unskilled people. This is a energy efficient solution for poor people.

  • I like it..

  • Its very very nice.

  • adorei!

  • ingenuity at its finest=]
