@dreaz1000 the developers have changed the way that sculpt mode behaves so that you won't be able to see any other "deforming mesh" modifiers (mirror, subsurf, etc.)
When you talked about topology, I thought - Yeah, that's what's wrong with my mesh. I have a hard time getting the topology to be clean, especially around the nose area. I've been following along with the videos... After seeing this one, I'm wondering if I should start over and try to get better topology so future tasks are easier. However, this is my first "real-life" Blender project, so if it doesn't turn out perfect, I'm not going to sweat it. Thanks for posting such a great tutorial!
2:38 i actually found merging of superfluous vertices to be more effective and frankly more satisfying than smoothing.i know from the first johnny blender that you hate triangles, but tjust give it a whack and I think you'll see the benefit.
i normaly add faces in edge select mode (only need 2 mouseclics) and merging all of those vertecies could be done a little more easy by erasing the middle and moving the outer ones in.
a little hint: if you wanna sculpt with more polygons use multiresolution instead of subsurf and click subdivide once or twice
i guess you wont read this so i hope you might find multiresolution sometime soon
@ffKingcreole right, i'll get to the sculpt tools a lot more indepth when we start working on a high-rez model (for things like wrinkles, pores, veins, scars etc) to bake a normal map from.
Thanks ward for making these videos that really are helping :) i am wonder is it worth getting the newest version of blender even though its not stable yet ?
@goku21060 the beta version is pretty stable; there do seem to be a few bugs left here and there, but overall, it's more powerful than previous versions already
when u made the nose and u extruded.. did u delete the original faces that u extruded from? cuz if not im confused

Doesn't matter what I do, my face topology looks like poop. Body topology is cool, but face topology is poop.
