I can't wait to get a Shelbourne head... I have heard nothing but praise from guys who have them. Makes one rethink which class of combine to get for the same capacity though...
we run 2 r-72 one a 98 and the other a 2001 both have M-11 put a bully dog power chip in them to boost power to 425 saves four gallons an hour for fuel and we run 35 foot 9250 draper headers on them... best draper out there!!! we were running 4.5 mph in 85 bushel wheat in north dakota and thats the toughest grinding wheat out there!! we also run 2 r-62's both 94 models can't get them to blow up to upgrade to the S77's
maybe but i ran on a crew in 2001 we had 2 r-72's and both of them had the M11'S in them. i still talk with the bossman i know they changed the engines sometime later in the late r72 and r75
is that when they started painting them? both of the one we had where the painted silver adn where 01 models. i still love the way they sound they had a good sounding hum and i miss that sweet sound.

I would think that oats would thrash to easy for that rotor in the shelbourne. I never thought that I would see blue on grey. HAHA

is that the combine or the stripper header that sounds so cool?

@farmhandstudios:
That noise is from the cummins engines on the gleaner combines.

1998 is when they changed them to M-11 thats when they were called the silver series. but from mid 1994 to 1997 they had LT10s

Are these gals air cooled? How do they handle the extra weight of the stripper heads?
spudbubba 3 years ago
no air cooled, Cummins. The stripper head is lighter than a 8 row corn head.

just got a r 62 badass combine i love it getting myu pics but will have it by the end of the week
cornfarmer4700 2 years ago
@spudbubba Lol that field had crop fire written all over it if the gleaners were air cooled...
