@BDean97 yah thats doesnt excuse it, smashing pumpkins are mainstream and with th exception of a couple songs off aeroplane flies high they write all their stuff. i can anme a bunch of other band sin mainstream, motion city soundtrack, rise against, brand new, wonder years all these guys write their own music despite being in the mainstream

@jsh020 are you in the studio while they write the music? Most bands get help from the record label that's why bands are so drug users, depressed and so forth they have no control over their creations they just do what the record label tells them.They are slaves to the record label so to speak.

like in SP, i highly doubt they would find anyone to write a song about billy corgon's dead mother or in mcs i doubt they would find someone to write about justin pierres drug addiction and near suicide
