they had to homologate 25 roadgoing units.this is an extremely rare version of the 993 based 911 gt1 from 1996.except of the prototype 2 of them have been built and sold.in 1997 they homologated officially 23 of the 911 gt1 evo(which was a facelift dedicated to the new 996 generation) as required by the fia regulations.but insiders say there have only 16-17 been produced in 1997! in 1998 the completely new designed,le mans-winning version was only homologated once and never been sold.

Muito engraçado eu tenho esse dvd eles fizeram o porsche passando pela F50 pra parecer que é melhor, kkkkk, o próprio narrador comenta que o gt1 foi construído pra bater as ferraris F40 dentre outros carros de outras marcas que faziam forte pressão nos porsches nas pistas, mas tanto esse como qualquer outro porsche nunca superou a maioria dos modelos da Ferrari, não supera as F40 e F50 nem a pau, mesmo assim é um dos mais bonitos, só resta bater o rendimento das Ferraris.

@Gummby69 they still have to build road going versions for the GT1,2,3 classes, but since nowadays most manufacturers turn the cars they sell anyways into GT racing cars, there aren't any "special" road cars made for homologation, except the maserati mc12 and porsche gt3 rs(the gt3 rsr GT2 racecar is based on the gt3 rs instead of the normal rs). Manufacturers never had to make road legal versions of the LMP1,2 classes, hence they are prototype classes

Sorry bud but NOT AT ALL. This is an amazing car in every way, top 10 (top 5 in my opinion) but not the fastest track car "till now" as you said. The GT1 wasn't even fast back in its day to be honest.

you can race there with your own car for about 11 euros

You can go on it! Itll cost a bit, but they have about 2 hours a day from 5pm til 7pm where its used like a toll road, and you drive what you got for about 20 euros per lap. Autobahn rules apply whilst on the track (ie no stupid driving (hah) and you must be covered by normal road insurance to use it). If you cant drive to Germany then there are rental cars you can get from 3litre stripped out Alfa 75's to brand new BMW M3's, but itll cost you a fair bit... it IS an epic EPIC place though
