low light capability of d60 but once in a while it reminds of how good of a camera i got for the price.lol. I would rather be shooting with a d800.oh well
@7beergut Yeah I do a lot of indoor shoots and stuff so I want clean images and I cant always use a tripod. But yes the D60 is an amazing camera for the price. I was lucky enough to pick up a D7000 so now it's my backup! Haha D800 or D4 would be nice.
Noise reduction surely is a balancing act.I have done a lot of night photos. With tripod i use iso 100 or 200 and long exposure. I am starting to do performance photog. and do not like flash.(neither do the bands i shoot) I have borrowed a friends 50mm 1.8 but would rather have a 35mm because of crop factor. This lens seems to be it for me.One of my other cameras is an old Cannon ae-1.I use it with 50mm 1.8 and b&w film but it gets to be costly to process. I do understand your opinion of crappy
stop shitting on the d60 dude! use noise reduction in post. ISO 800 is fine on a nikon. you forgot to mention the problem with barrel distortion with this lens. also repairable in post. i am buying this lens soon. be more thorough my friend.
@7beergut Thank you for your thoughts! Sorry if I was coming off as harsh about the D60. I love the camera but I want to get the best possible result in camera. Noise reduction is great in small amounts (for me) and I do a lot of low light shots. And for my reviews I judge everything based on what I see and for all the shots I had taken before making this video I did not notice any distortion. I am just trying to show what its like to use the lens. Thanks for your input!
This is a great review, thanks a lot! This lens seems like a good way to make my old D80 more interesting.. Pro reviews often focuses on the more technical stuff which is kind of hard to relate to/understand, this is exactly the info i was looking for! Keep it up!
@googlybear224 Hey np! I just got the lens and im really loving it! just one question tho, i think theres something wrong with mine. The focus ring, does yours spin endlessly? cause it seems that mine can be spun endlessly and has no stop, of course at a certain point the focus is no longer being adjusted and it seems that the ring can just spin and spin as much as you want in both directions. Is that normal?
@PhunnyPunny Awesome! Glad you are loving it! And to answer your question that is completely normal. Mine does the same thing. It does spin in both directions even if there isnt anything to focus. I did notice that when you spin it and it is focusing it feels different than when it spins without being able to focus, no idea if that makes any sense haha. But yeah its completely normal. Hope that helps!

I think you can change the mount for your 18-55mm.
just type on ebay : "nikon 18-55 mount" and look for the vr version
