@guitarristas21 -- I was able to pick one up from eBay for about 55 dollars and shipping. Just type in the make and model number. It's a straight forward swap out.

Hi I've followed the video and the screen works just fine however the brightness is very low when I try to turn it up nothing happens. Is this to do with the replacement screen or have I done something wrong during installation?

Hey I was wondering what screw driver do you use when you're trying to get the first two screws out? It's the first step, and I'm already having trouble, lol.

@earthtoapple I use a small Phillips head screw driver in this video. You should try and match the size of your screw driver to the screw as closely as possible to prevent damage to the screws.

@SuperLizard32 Depending on your exact screen part number. This screen is very inexpensive in comparison to other screens. Are you sure you need a new screen? I do a free estimate at my shop if you would like me to take a look at it.

Just a quick question, would a 531h model screen be compatible with my D255? I know where I can get a 531h model super cheap, but I dunno if it'd fit. The dimensions are the same, and they're both LCD and Acer models. Any help is appreciated.

@TheSocialVagabond It is hard to comment on compatibility but I would recommend using the part number on the back of the screen to order so you know for sure that you are getting the correct screen.

I just replaced my netbook screen using your video and it was super easy! THANKS SO MUCH! You just saved me about £100, as Argos were gonna charge about £140 to fix it. Instead I got a screen off ebay for £36 :D

wheres the best place to get a screen for one of these acer are tacking the Michael, they want £55 just for the courier and assessment cost and then a further £150 for the screen, or if i do it myself they will send the screen out for £132, please, please help

My screen cracked on its own, Acer won't believe me. Acer are a fucking joke, they wanted to charge me £50 for taking it in to them to get it checked out and delivery costs, then they would charge me the Repair costs. I went on-line and HP do it ALL for £85!

@FastVideoTech, I really don't know, It cracked on its own. I shut the lid left the room and opened the lid and there was a massive crack! with Liquid crystals all smeared over it!

My LCD plasma type stuff cracked and spread across the screen and apparently the screen isnt under warranty so now I have to pay 99 dollars to get acer to fix it . I was wonder ing if this was cheaper

@sk8ki $99 sounds very cheap! The screen is typically between $70 and $119 depending on the exact part and I charge 1 hour labor which is $50. Also you must factor in shipping which is not too much since the netbook is so light weight. Let me know if you need any help, thanks!

@TheBrainParalysis Mostly I check the part number from the back of the LCD Screen and then check with my suppliers. You could check google and ebay as sources if you need to purchase a LCD Screen as they generally have many parts available for sale. Good luck!
