Hey, stretch expert, I am trying to get back into "flexible shape." I was wondering if you could do a video of your stretching instead of just pictures. Also, if you could include "beginner" stretches. I haven't stretched pretty much since high school and want to start out small and progressively get better. Get back to me. Thanks
squats for some reason allways make me pull a muscle in my hamstrings so i stay using leg press and quadricep curls... what you think about leg press?
@lancelottbfam23 the question is in leg pres and quad curls- are you pushing your body away from the weight or the weight away from your body? Squats have a looooong history of causing micro tears in hamstring that lead to pulls--- especially the heavier the load-- and they are dangerous!
Closed... All I do everyday is dunk for hours and hours, and I gained massive vert, I went from not dunking two three years ago to me now being on TeamFlightBrothers (just got on 3 weeks ago, so no vid on tfb yet) but from getting wrist above the rim, to head at or near the rim. And it's what all other tfb members do aswell
Imo, olympic lifts should not be used by athletes in other sports. Olympic lifting is another entire sport in itself and is not worth learning that sport whilst trying to learn your own. They are very technical lifts and take years and years to master. If people believe they can do them, they are either a liar or a fool; or both (:p) You need access to a good weightlifting coach who has years or experience. Normal coaches always teach these movements with horrible form.
The load of the squat is the most beneficial part. It builds amazing core stability as well as strength. Look up Kokylaev 290kg no handed squat. That is an example of the balance with which squats can give you.
@stretchexpert I used to train for basketball but now compete in strongman :) My vertical jump has remained the same as it was when I used to play bball (Which is cool considering I no longer even train for it!) My weekly training involves ATG squats twice a week, ATG front squats, deadlifts, hex bar deadlifts, log pressing, axle pressing, circus DB's, heavy event training. I feel strongman training is beneficial for any athlete from any sport :)

@killerjunior23 Congrats on TFB! sounds like repetitive dunking works for you! Are you doing anything else?

Instead kettlebells, or DB's can be used to mimmick these lifts and are a much less technical option.
