Why is the drum beat wrong? It is a rock rhytmn which is used in many rock songs. If you listen to Dale´s original version you will notice that it´s the same beat, this one is the modern version of it which was recorded for the film Pulp Fiction and we also speeded it up a bit.
Do you mean the original one in the 60s? You can watch it here on youtube, yes. But the pulp fiction movie was made in 1994, and it is a new version. There is more piano parts and also a trumpet, which was not used in the 60s at all ;)

The version YOU are playing is more C&W than SURF!
The drum beat is all wrong, Thats why i queried it as to whether it was a C&W version.

Still doesnt sound right. Accents maybe. But it threw me.
What modern recording? The Pulp Fiction version is an OLD recording! You listen to it! Its from the 60s!
