this delta isn't like the old group b one, this is a special which is the daddy on a dvd i have called the group b hill climb, you see the group b cars evolve from the 80's up to last year, the looks dont change but the performance gains are amazing and instead of 550 bhp you get 950 bhp plus with closer ratio gearboxes which is why it changes gear so quick, no arguments about this being the scariest car ever made!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it is a wonder. I love power that is why i hate IRC and FIA. In the future WRC cars (maybe from 2010) will have 280 HP. 2 litres 16 valves non-charged engines. I think the racing will be getting more boring than nowadays. But in secret i hope mosley will be given a sack. I understand safty and safty but soon I will be able to drive the rally cars:)). Minimum 310 HP charged engines and ok forbid using some electronics system.
the supercharger helps to prevent turbo lag in low down rpm while the turbocharger gives massive boost at higher rpm (called twin charging) a genius idea that can make this beast do 0-62mph in 2.3secs on gravel!!!!!!!!! also runs on 2.2bar of boost!!!! 550bhp!!!!!! 890kg this car is an animal!!!!!
@lemmehaveone That way they solve the turbo lag problem. The supercharger keeps the torque up at low revs untill the turbo kicks in. The power curve is more even that way.

Yeah, I've seen the vid to....big deal. What was it up against? All RWD Escorts and Datto's etc....der!!!! (btw, a RWD Escort won the World Championship in 1981, the 1st full year of the Quattro's rally campaign!). The Delta S4 didn't rally until 1985 and 1986 (then FIA canned Group B), by which time Audi had the Quattro Sport S1 and Peugeot had the 205 T16 (which won the World Championships in '85-'86 btw!). Yes, the Audi was an awesome beast, but so were the other Group B monsters!
Search "Group B Rally Cars" to find out about the Lancia. It was probably one of if not the most powerful rally car ever built. The RS200 may have been more powerful, but it would be a close match.
The S4 is a group b rally machine that uses a 1.8 litre engine that is both supercharged and turbodharged, to eliminate turbo lag. the road cars had 250bhp, the rally version had 470 and i think the white one in the vid has 650... Hits 62mph in about 2.5 seconds on gravel. If you think this car is mad, look up "Lancia ECV" on google, the sucessor to this monster. Try to get a pic of the engine while ur lookin that up. then picture it under the bonnet of your car....!!!!!

top speed only 125 mph in that set up. first year it ran the Monaco f-1 track and it's qualifying time would have put him in 4th pole position that year. bad ass ... best ever

Yeah saxos are way faster than Lancia Deltas especially if you put a fake dump valve on, get a huge exhaust, lexus lights and go faster stripes. Then even the standard 1.1 has 4000BHP and runs on pure ignorance

I agree completely-Group B was the best. And motorsport won't be the same without it in the same way that rallying won't be the same without the Lancia Stratos, Delta S4 and Delta Integrale
and now that Lancia's on the brink of extinction-I think it's fair to say that the world won't be the same without Lancia

Henri Toivonen and navigator Sergio Cresto crashed in their S4 and both were killed and the cars just got to fast that is why they stoped grop B 1759cc 470hp..The day they bring back grop B is the same day they bring back turbo F1 and that is the day i go out a buy a ticket to watch...

Engine:DOHC 16v, 1759 ccm, Abarth 233 ATR 18S, 330 kW, 451 Nm/5000 ot/min. Turbo: KKK+Root´s compressor(Volumex) with 2 radiators of compressed air..Not only Turbocharged but also supercharched.

The Lancia Delta S4 was actually a 1.8 Supercharged and Turbocharged engine, generating 550BHP. But yes rallying isn't the same, bring back Group B
