  • what the women is given to the people that are on the chair?

  • I wish the sound track played the actual music/sounds of the wedding.

Hearing the attached music is making me sleepy, because it's a Japanese lullaby~ aha

  • You can't truly love one religion without respecting all others. Same goes with people, you can't truly love one person without respecting all others INCLUDING yourself.

  • I took my friend Mariko to a church program of mine a while back, and she was respectful and everything... even did the bowing of the head thing... but that was out of respect..... I didn't tell them she wasn't Christian but I'm sure they would not be mad or surprised if I DID tell them that.... the rest, I believe, would have been outside of their understanding.... besides we were trashing parts of the program we thought were boring in Japanese! lol

  • look at the people in this video! They're OLD! you can see their faces at the end. My friend (and she's so Americanized, if my other post didn't come up) says they don't even do this kind of stuff over there anymore (even when she was still over there), and if they do, it's just for show or ritual. Their weddings, everything, is becoming more westernized.

  • that is how i whant to do my wedding

  • What a cute couple! :)

  • Very intresting

  • oh its so beautiful, love joined these two on one of the oldest traditions of shinto

  • History of Japanese traditional shinto-style wedding is short. Off course, there were exceptions. Basically marriage ceremony is out of traditional religions in Japan. And this traditional style of Shinto is based originally citizens custom. The meaning why bridegroom wears black formal wear is that he never changes his true. And white wear of bride means that I will take on your colors. Mark on his wear is his familys trade mark. Usually we have own family trademark.

  • Is this a shotgun wedding?

    Dekichatta-Kon kamo shirenai ne

  • VERY CUTE !

  • does anyone know any song names related to the shinto religion??

    thanks =]

  • why is the music so sad?? - -

  • Have you ever been married?

  • Survey results have found 60% of Japanese women seek a husband with an annual income of over $70,000 (in fact 20% look for twice this much), but statistics show that the average income for men in Japan is only $44,000.

The results once again suggested the reason for collapsing marriage rates in Japan may be overwhelmingly tied to the unrealistic income expectations of several generations of women who apparently consider little else in their choice of partner.

  • well you know, so many of these adult women still live with their parents...

...its not like women can get equally as far as men in japan when it comes to the corporate world.

not all, but many of these women just have a job to make extra spending money, and without having to pay bills or rent, go out and spend their savings on the latest fashion trends and name brands...or whatever strikes their interest.

women should have the opportunities to get further in the corporate world in japan.

  • I wondered about the headwear too : O.

But the priests & priestess are definitely shinto :)

  • That was very beautiful.

  • What a nice Shito wedding.

  • Everyone seems to be so sad.

  • Well, not sad, more somber-like. They smile at the end, though :)

  • the song is lullaby in japan.

  • Shinto never denies other religions, but seggest to collaborate peacefully. That's why Shinto and Buddhizm co-exist in Japan for 1500 years. By the way. music used in the video is a tradditional lullaby and nothing to do with the wedding celemony...

  • hahaha!!!

I wish them the best of sleeping.

  • Wow. The music is a bit depressing in my opninon, and frightening but at the same time very beautiful. It's amazing how Japanese instruments give off such an aora and atmosphere that you can actually feel. SO deep haha!

  • I think the Christianity-bashing comments should be deleted.

  • @StrawberryLight

what? christians also came to shinto videos, trolling around? ohh no, this also happened in european pagan videos.

  • i love japan

  • and wats th music cslled 2 i really need 2 no this pty

  • i have 2 research Shinto for school and its hard cuz not many ppl no what Shinto is and wat is the thing called they are waering pplz!!! i really need ur help!!!

  • ummm kimono

  • sorry... by a gnostic cult a long time later. i just don't understand why i'm seeing so much hate toward Jesus and Christianity as of late.

  • how did this get into a bashing-christianity video. first of - OldWaysFollower - christianity has rarely influenced japan / shinto. 2nd - i can't find ANY racism in xtianity - (actually quite the opposite) in my last 20 + years of studying it. and the reference to jesus killing someone was added by a (gnosticcult)

  • greetings!! It's nice to see a living ethnic religion; respect to Japanese for staying faithful to Shinto; as a Slavic pagan reconstructionist I know how hard is it to bring a new life to the religion that was almost destroyed by Christianizers. But we don't give up! And also you should keep your spirits up and keep your religion!! May it live forever!! Glory to the Gods!! And Happiness and Joy to the Married Couple!! We also do traditional weddings, in Slavic way... Slava(Glory)!!

  • haha did you hear how jesus didn't like a guy he knew so he tried to kill him it was in the dead sea scrolls. im with you minnesotaviking22302. shinto power!!!!!!!!

  • it seems you know nothing of the life of しんと based on your hateful & worthless comment

  • You're wrong, I studied Christianity and used to be a Christian. It's a bunch of bull and also is a racist religion. Shinto and Buddhism are better. Fuck Jesus, he was not a real person. there is no evidence for him..

  • If you didn't know, humandomain said you know nothing of しんと(SHINTO). He didnt say anything about jesus. btw Their is no evidence for alot of B.S. religions and they sill believe in what they want. Maybe we sould respect ALL RELIGIONS, not just your own.

  • @Maku808

You willingly said theres no evidence for alot of B.S. religions, thus contradicting your later statement.

Not that I want to get into this fight, just pointing that out.

  • um shinto in Japanese is spelled with a long 'o' sound at the end - shintou/しんとう/神道 meaning 'way/art of the gods/spirits'.

If you are going to write something in Japanese, try to write it correctly, otherwise it becomes ironic that you say to someone else that 'they know nothing of Shintoism'

  • Well technically "Shinto" isn't wrong either. It's like the English word for the japanese "Shintou". Basically, both are correct. Yeah, I'm six months late, I know... :P

  • @kamubegoakujuga

Funny thing is my name is Shindo.

  • lol, I just met a guy called shinjo a few months ago in the class I took :P are you, like, japanese?

  • @kamubegoakujuga

That is the funny thing. I am not Japanese. I am Puerto Rican. But you never know. Somewhere along the line I may have ancestry that is of Japanese decent. It is very interesting how mixed the human race is from all the travelling and trades.

  • what is the correct name of this song

and how can i download for mp-3 use

  • my parents had a wedding like this.

my grandparents use to sing this song to put me asleep when i was little

  • Is it possible for an American to get a traditional Japanese wedding ceremony?

  • yes

  • My fiance and I are looking into setting this up now. Send me a message if you want more info.

  • what is that song's name?It is so beautiful!!!

  • I think it is "Edo's Lullaby". I know it is one of the traditional ones.

  • aaw this reminds me of my nephews wedding =D
