I like to think of this as the true ending. They all continue to fight even though Yusuke is not a detective anymore, Kuwabara probably still a student. Hiei and Kurama enjoy participating.
I'd imagine if the 2nd makai tournament was broadcasted as a special 5th season. Kuwabara would have been training with genkai/working with spirit world and now his power is on par with everyone else on the team. Or he would magically power up to S+ level after one fight from the thought of Yukina or from some spirit awakening.
i no im being selfish in saying this but... i really want another season. u no i want to no more back storys of all the lesser char. like jin and chu and every one else i want all the smart ass remarks back and the easy going flow the story had... even if if was just fighting its by fair my fav. anime littterly of all time even as alittle girl i watched this.

@Blueutopiah I believe that Kuwabara-sama is pretty much considered the strongest human in history after Sensui died. My favorite character of Yu Yu Hakusho: Kuwabara Kazuma: Warrior of Love! Also wielder of the dimension splitting sword, the third most spiritually aware human in existence (his sister still outranks him and considering Genkai I'm not willing to test that since I fear even though fictional she could still Spirit Wave me into oblivion) and he has cool hair~!

You are probably right. I mean, Yusuke was away for a few years. Spiritworld definitely needed someone to defend Humanworld, so it would only make sense to ask Kuwabara. He probably got help from Genkai -- who knows.

i know this is the end, but to be honest thats just being cruel. i would love to see another season. considering how they just jumped/rushed their way through the final season, i mean the final season could have lasted another 20-30 episodes if they actually showed everyones fight!
I completely agree with you. Although the animation was beautiful in that final season, the Makai Tournament arc was sloppy at best, and it wasn't dark enough. I mean, the Dark Tournament was brutal, but when they get to Demon World, it's like: Hey! how about no killing? And let's go vegan!
After extensive Togashi research, I am working on a sequel series for YYH and it has at least 7 sagas in my outline so far ^^ It would be great if it could one day be animated. I also just started working on a small bit in between to cover some things from the manga that the anime didn't cover (like Yusuke dressed up as a girl) The bulk of it would be the second tournament tho. So does Kuwa really fight the second time?

Well, the Poltergeist Report is dubbed, but the dub is horrible: they call Kuwabara Kuwahara and the english voices are different than the ones on the show. The other movie, the one where King Enma's stamp gets stolen and Koenma gets kidnapped - that's never been dubbed.
Try YouTube for them, they have to be on here somewhere.
Oh I know about the movie dubs ToT The VA for Kuwa'h'ara sounds almost intelligent...which doesn't fit him as much as I like his character. That movie (2) the animation was different...
, the first one (with King Enma's stamp) the animation was right but there were so many inconsistencies with the series and the character development I wanted to cry ToT Oh and it has been dubbed (but the dubbing is just as bad as poltergeist report), but it's under the title of this other anime that is on the same disc so it may be harder to find.
As a die-hard YYH fan myself, this was great nostalgia. When you attach yourself to characters over long periods of time like in this series, you feel as if they're family. YYH is one of my greatest inspirations of all time. A trye icon in the anime/manga universe.
Just a theory...but maybe because they got older-well yusuke and Kuwabara were 14 at the very begining, and Kurama as a human a year older, and then the last episode, they were 16-17, and this is about another year later. And Hiei being a demon that ages differently as well as the fact that he is the manifestation of all DragonBalls including the Krillin factor of remaining short while everyone else gets to grow taller ^^ (as well as the Tien's 3rd eye and role of Vegeta factor that he serves)

i know this is the end, but to be honest thats just being cruel. i would love to see another season. considering how they just jumped/rushed their way through the final season, i mean the final season could have lasted another 20-30 episodes if they actually showed everyones fight!

I completely agree with you. Although the animation was beautiful in that final season, the Makai Tournament arc was sloppy at best, and it wasn't dark enough. I mean, the Dark Tournament was brutal, but when they get to Demon World, it's like: Hey! how about no killing? And let's go vegan!
And I could use 10 more seaons.

After extensive Togashi research, I am working on a sequel series for YYH and it has at least 7 sagas in my outline so far ^^ It would be great if it could one day be animated. I also just started working on a small bit in between to cover some things from the manga that the anime didn't cover (like Yusuke dressed up as a girl) The bulk of it would be the second tournament tho. So does Kuwa really fight the second time?

Is that true about the sequel? That's awesome... just don't let it become DBGT lol. I know how hard it is trying to get a manga published outside of Japan... unless you live in Nihon and you're just talking English because mostly everyone else is.

Yep. Some fans don't even consider these 8 segments as the end, they think episode 112 is the end. I just think they're stubborn.
The show ended in 1995, and I think these came out the same year, so it has been awhile.

Well, the Poltergeist Report is dubbed, but the dub is horrible: they call Kuwabara Kuwahara and the english voices are different than the ones on the show. The other movie, the one where King Enma's stamp gets stolen and Koenma gets kidnapped - that's never been dubbed.
Try YouTube for them, they have to be on here somewhere.

Oh I know about the movie dubs ToT The VA for Kuwa'h'ara sounds almost intelligent...which doesn't fit him as much as I like his character. That movie (2) the animation was different...

, the first one (with King Enma's stamp) the animation was right but there were so many inconsistencies with the series and the character development I wanted to cry ToT Oh and it has been dubbed (but the dubbing is just as bad as poltergeist report), but it's under the title of this other anime that is on the same disc so it may be harder to find.

As a die-hard YYH fan myself, this was great nostalgia. When you attach yourself to characters over long periods of time like in this series, you feel as if they're family. YYH is one of my greatest inspirations of all time. A trye icon in the anime/manga universe.

Just a theory...but maybe because they got older-well yusuke and Kuwabara were 14 at the very begining, and Kurama as a human a year older, and then the last episode, they were 16-17, and this is about another year later. And Hiei being a demon that ages differently as well as the fact that he is the manifestation of all DragonBalls including the Krillin factor of remaining short while everyone else gets to grow taller ^^ (as well as the Tien's 3rd eye and role of Vegeta factor that he serves)
