sorry BaronSCameron, but you are completly telling non-sense. It just means you dont understand why québec would like to separate from canada, and that is sad. you only believe that your point of view, which makes sense to you ("why would quebec would separate from canada? canada is a so wonderful country!") doesnt make sens for us, soverainist.
man i see a couple messages saying quebec is great when there fucking ass holes to the east coast when newfounland joined canada (worst mistake in newfoundland history) the stuped dude in charge gave every thing newfoundland lived on away and quebec see's that the contract is unfair >.> and they wanna split from canada cuz there not getting ''every thing they want'' man i hate quebec >.< oh and to ALL of amarica EAT MY CANADIAN BACON!
Living on the other side of the river from Quebec, I have never met a "Québequois" that is a soverenist. They are a minority in Quebec nowadays that would want to separate. I, for one, like the fact that thanks to them eastern Ontario remains in majority French. I might not like being called a "Québequoise" but surely, would not want them to separate.
Croseur!
Curious if you have read Ann Hansen's Direct Action? Interesting read even if you don't agree with her/their philosophy...I picked up from the library this week a book called " Reconquering Canada :Quebec Federalists Speak Up For Change"(2008). It may be of interest to you.
Anglos-Americans loyalists call Wolfe a hero, it's a shame. We were the "Canadiens" before the English invade us and rename us French-Canadian like second class citizen. Today Canada is a British Federation, we are not officialy in it, we have been annexed by force and we never sign the constitution. Imposing a consitution is a sign of dictature...
You're still an idiot! ... Wolfe kicked your asses... It was a war.... We won ... You lost ...That's like the British telling the Americans that they were there first and that the USA should still be under British rule because of that.
Separatists are the scum of the continent. They should all be placed into concentration camps.
You also seem to think that only separatist oppose the reconsitution but a lot of non-separatist also oppose. They consider themself Canadiens not British...
"I propose to set the town on fire with shells, to destroy the harvest, houses and cattle, both above and below, to send off as many Canadiens as possible to Europe and to leave famine and desolation behind me; but we must teach these scoundrels to make war in a more gentleman like manner." - James Wolfe
I don't think a sit-in is violence or terrorism, you live in a society of crying baby, you are scared and terrorized, you always call us terrorist. This is not about New-France it's about Québec and what the Habitant suffer. Because of the RRQ the Québeker will commemorate the 250e in respect wihtout all those festive and humoristic event organise by the Federal, that was a tragedy a genocide of our people...
I think you don't understand that we oppose because that was a festive event organise by the Federal, not by the Québeker people. You speak out of ignorance repeating what the media said, that was not just just a reconstitution. It was festive, humoristic and touristic party. For us the British and Wolfe are murderers and war criminals...
How were you able to have slide showing up on your video while you talk. What did you use to do this. I love the approach about history as I myself am a history teacher. COOL! This is great!
I use Adobe Premier Elements to edit my videos. This program has layered audio/video and makes the Picture-In-Picture quite simple. Most video editing software has this feature. It also has chromakey (blue/green screen) like weather forecasters use which is kind of fun. I am currently trying to figure out Adobe After Effects to add a new level of production value to my vids but it's a pain to learn and I feel like a preschool kid in a 4th year calculus class.
Knothead? Can you think of any other home-grown Canadian terrorist group that required the enacting of The War Measures Act? If so, I'd love to hear about it. Hence, terrorism works better in the east.
It's always interesting to see History from both points of view... Maybe you should try it? Who knows? You may actually have some surprizes... things you haven't realized yet. Yes, who knows?
Your last sentence though, sarcasm or not, was less interesting... Difficult, huh, to stay neutral when the mentality sticks?
Try looking at from the point of view from an entire nation that sees funds meant to supply a nation diverted to a province to keep belly-achers quiet. The War Measures Act enacted, suspending Civil Rights, in order to stop a group of terrorists. A governement brought down in shame because they denied their moral instincts to try a stop a wave of anti-Canadian sentiment?
The sovereignists cannot win this fight and yet continue to fuel their own egos, not their "people's" best interests.
(cont.) I love this country and Canada includes Quebec. I speak French and have travelled to the province many times. If I had to live outside of BC, Quebec is my first choice.
Also, do not forget the injury to Quebec's tourist economy done by their actions or that several sovereignists planned on taking part in the recreation.
As far as sarcasm goes, mine may have been less interesting but it was, at least, a great deal more informed than your own.
I am myself from Quebec and I am sick of those separatiste or watherver tou want to call theme... By the way, les plaines d abrahams(la Citadelle) are really nice to visit, It looks like fort henry in Kingston
The École Polytechnique Massacre of 1989 is also history where 14 people were killed. Do you think it would be a appropriate to re-eneact it. Nobody want history re-writen... It is still a swore point in quebec because many people do not like to be under the umbrella of the british empire.. I am not a separatist but I agree that to re-enact someone's defeat in their backyard is very offensive.
There is a movie about the shootings; it has been re-enacted.
What about the several sovereignists who were going to take part in the re-enactment? Seems even their camp can't agree. It was nothing more than headline seeking saber rattlers making trouble and whining for a cause that stands no chance of ever accomplishing its goal.
"give the british re-creationists real guns" was your comment... and you wonder why the they are making a fuss over it. The battle was 250 years ago but comments like yours always present. And you wonder why they feel the way they do.
Yes, I did say that. But my comment was a sarcastic retort to their having raised the issue in the first place. It was representative of their statements not the cause of them.
