i remember hearing these guys live during that tour of the UK.

there is now some controversy over his claimed lineage (descendant of Bhai Mardana). Frankly I couldn't give a damn.

At one program he said (in Panjabi) " through the use of Parmaans, i will give you darshan of Guru Nanak Sahib". He proceeded to recite the story of Guru Nanak Dev Jis travels (phir Baba gaya Baghdad noo). I swear that I felt his presence. it was undoubtedly the most uplifting Kirtan I have ever heard.

True Sikhs owe a great debt to Bhai Mardana and equally to his generations. Sikhs should honour Bhai Lall ji and his Jatha for keeping the gurbani- kirtan singing alive even after 17 generations. They deserve the respect and support of every true minded Sikhs.

We should denounce the present day 'mahants' (SGPC, All five Jathedars etc), who do not allow these true followers of Guru Nanak to singh shabads at Darbar Sahib Amritsar. True Sikhism is not in growing long beard or hair.

Much of the GuruBani is infarct written by Hindus and Muslims who did not keep any of the rituals of the modern khalsa. So if Say Kabirji can write kirtan and Sheik Baba Farid, a muslim who cut his hair, ate meat ect... can write the Gurubani that you bow too. Why can't these people sing it?

how so? the first hukam of guru sahib is to take amrit, whih in doing so you must keep kesh. a gurus sikh should do guru da kirtan. guru sahib said "Rehat pyari mujko sikh pyara nahi" which literally means i love the rehat that the sikh follows not the sikh themselves. keeping kes is the very base of every rehat.
