  • i think is $400 were i live

  • This cracks me up :)

  • Would you rather have your kid lose a finger or break your $300 fan and force you to buy a new one?

  • @NinjaMonkey998 False dilemma.

  • @NinjaMonkey998 where are you people buying these finger chopping fans?

  • your fucking hilariousss

  • How much if a breeze do you actually get with this thing? From what I've seen and heard, a $5 fan pushes more air. Or am I wrong?

  • U can just put a couple ice cubes under your arms..... That way you stay cool. XD

  • "you can hear it, right?"

    Yes I can.

Dude, a jet engine is less nosiy!

  • @RagnorBC but a fan is louder

  • shit ur a nerd

  • it blows air in a circular pattern... worth about 10$

  • Should have held a piece of paper in front of it to show the power.

  • You can make a bladed fan that isn't perceptibly choppy. Just people don't care + don't want to buy for it.

  • This thing barely moves air.

  • I'd buy this just cuz' it was in an anime.

  • Not to prove you wrong, but with a fan you can take off the casing and CLEAN the blades, this thing will collect dust INSIDE the ring thing, so you won't SEE the dust collect, but IT WILL BE THERE. and you CAN NOT CLEAN IT.

  • Sounds like a ducted fan. At the price point they are selling it, I'll pass.

  • Hey Chris, I'm a big fan.

  • My mom is getting one

  • My mom works at dyson lol

  • series of tubes

  • i just saw chris review a fan WTF

  • @saltman90 I just realized that.

  • I am allergic to dust! my throat clogs up and get a sore throat and such. Amyhow, I have an air purifier! This may be good for me though :)

  • For $300 this invention isn't going anywhere.

  • How can you be a star wars fan if you think Darth Vader said "Luke, I am your father", he never said that.

Vader said "No, I am your Father"

It's like "Hello, Clarice", Lecter never actually says that line.

  • @commodore256 It is from Tommy Boy. Chris Farley's character says the line while talking into a fan, hence why Chris said it here.

  • And its actually quieter and better built, more reliable, and can be easily cleaned while using precision physics to move air....its got a market for people who appreciate quality and sweet design.

  • What about the entire circular gap it leaves where no air goes?

  • "This week's forecast calls for 100 degrees with high humidity. Health experts are advised to stay indoors where it's cool with air conditioning, drink plenty of water and remember to purchase the Dyson Air Multiplier if your household does not have a system for proper air circulation." :D

  • @Lawtsy15 well obviously not he just said it

  • Your voice is soooo nerdy!!! :D

  • Chris is obviously not a real fan

  • Sounds like a plane taking off.

  • so the blades in the base are now " dust proof"? there are blades. they collect dust. also you have to take the stupid waist of money apart to clean it. have you seen the inside of a computer that hasn't been cleaned for a year or two? it gets dusty...

chopping air??? really? that is your selling point??? go f**k a vacuum dyson

  • the views goes 1234.

  • @TheMacviews Same for me. The counts must still be frozen.

  • the fan works like a mono wheel, it has blades in the circular housing.

  • 400-500$ in sweden... niiiiiiiice not.

  • "LUKE! I AM YOUR FAATHEERR!" that was CLASSIC!! XD

  • @rakistas32 That's my favorite part of a fan. Whats the point if It won't make your voice sound cool.

  • take it apart

  • That sounded like a jet engine

  • when you said my name it scared the shit outta me

  • does turn your voice into a robot automatic pass on this

  • Fucking wind, how does it work?

  • Best beginning phrase ever!

  • Its a FAN that costs $300!!!!!!!! That is all!

  • ok it's sunday, it's frying hot out... how's that fan review coming so far?

c'mon Chris, enquiring minds want to know! :D

  • what the hell?

it is basicly a reversed vaccume with enclosed fan inside the base that blows air out from circular ring

  • Comment removed

  • feeds down

  • awesome fan but its expensive I wait until the prices go's down!!!!

  • I got a knock off version for $120. I like it :) Check ebay

  • Why so few views?!

  • @Umbra360 YouTube's viewer count is broken at the moment... FIX IT YOUTUBE!

  • @Thecomputergamer2008 ahh.. That explains.

  • does anyone else call the vacuum a hoover?

  • @bdub232 true it uses the same type of fan thats in a furnace and theybget really dirt

  • yea boi! dyson ftw!!!

  • I looked at one a while back. It was noisier than my aircon that cost less.

  • I saw this fan at Fry's a couple weeks ago. I couldn't figure out how it worked. It make me feel like a retard.

  • crack heads @ Dyson fishing for idiots who have more $ than sense. what a rip off

  • 'bladeless fan'? That is complete BS. The real 'fan' that actually pushes the air around is inside the base and it will have all the dust that a regular fan has on it. The problem? On a regular fan it is easy to clean dust off blades once in a while. On this stupid thing dust is inside and you have to disassemble the freaking thing to clean it! $300 for this? A complete RIP-OFF! WTF

  • this video's fake!!! the fan is fake!!! His voice is FAKE!!

  • I like my air chopped...

  • you sounded like Dr. evil off of Austin powers when you said, "Luke, I am your father"

  • there are cheap chinese knockoffs for $50 if you look around, the're the exact same with a different name

  • make it 100$ and I'll buy it, but 300-450... nty

  • I just think it looks nice aesthetically. I would gladly buy the tower model for $100. $300...don't care that much.

  • 0:54 > that's what she said

  • i wonder how many continuous hours hat little motor can handle since you just don't leave vacuum cleaners on perpetually.. also how long does it take for the blower in the base to get clogged

  • I think we have found a new technique for framing subjects within video. Shoot them through the center of a dyson air multiplier. I petition that you shoot every video for the next week with this same framing.

  • Na I still think dust will collect on that surface if not in its air intake. For 300$ id rather buy a cheap AC! :P

  • w00t UK inventions

  • If this was made by apple, they could charge $400 and millions would buy it.

  • Are better brands really better?

  • You've got to be a real fan to blow $300 on that

  • Dyson blows.

  • It uses a blower style fan. It sounds like my graphics card on full speed. I'll stick with my 4 blade desk fan. And even if a normal fan is louder than the Dyson, a normal fan has a nicer sound.

  • Fanboy. How many cfm's does it pull?

  • Pause at 5:13 ..

  • Really like it just not the price.

  • If the blades pick up dust that's less dust in the air.

  • Chris, I'm lonely. Will you hug me :'(

  • It's a lie, the fan blades are in the base than pushes air around the hollow ring. Scam!

  • yay for the Portal reference

  • I hate when companies do that... It's like they think they have invented something entirely new. It's a good improvement on the regular fan... but that's all. Not worth even 150, let alone the double.

  • Dude, could you not have put something in front of it so we could see how strong it blows? We can't see air you know! see

  • Nice fan chris

  • Why did I just watch 6 minutes of Chris reviewing a goddamn fan?

  • but how it exactly works? o_O

  • When I saw this in real life, I called it a magicians fan...

  • It looked animated at first, like some sort of augmented reality.

  • They're smoking crack @ Dyson if they think that's worthy of 300 bones. Lmao, cool but they can keep that thing for that price. I wouldn't pay 100

  • Think I'll stick to my $30 fan that does the same thing (moves air).

  • How much gell do you use, your hair never moved

  • uh, the base (where the blades are) will get dusty and clog up!!! And will push it through a slot all around the rim. LOL! All that changed was the esthetics. LOL Old fan with a new look/delivery system.

  • Portal reference in the beggining :)

  • I can get an air conditioner for that money

  • really great product but, highly over priced

  • as long as it's not a fanboy it's okay

  • I came to the same conclusion. I would love to have one and I think they are really cool, but I am not going to pay $300 for one. I spent $100 on a fan from Brookstone that I have in my office, and I even thought that was pushing my limit as far as price for a fan. If Dyson dropped the price of the fan, er "air multiplier," below $100 I would happily go get one.

  • Here at Dyson, we got tired of toasters getting crumbs, so we invented the toastless toaster...

  • All I can say is:: "prrrf, I'd rather pay 10-30 quid and clean my blades... at least I could spend my money on other things rather than just a fan - after all, money aint gonna appear out of thin air! XD"

  • Im making a note here, huge sucess.

  • Hmmm, do they come in orange also? Lolportal

  • PROTIP:

The fan has blades in the base.

  • Ah proud to be British

  • Am getting one now

  • There's blades in the base...

  • @bhanner95 yea. all it does it suck the air in. then let it back out harder. way too simple.

  • @bhanner95 I agree with bhanner95, this thing will still collect dust, open that base in about a year. Yeah and that price ouch!

  • @bhanner95 Exactly, and just how do you clean THOSE...

  • @oledcrt it's an enclosed electric motor. there might be a filter, but you're not going to be cleaning a motor. the point of this thing is that 15x more air volume is moving through the ring than is moving through the motor.

  • @WinterXL I think I'll stick with my $45 Hunter desk fan thank you very much.

  • @bhanner95 No.... their in circular housing that chris sticks his hand through. kinda like a mono wheel.

  • @bhanner95 There's one propeller....

  • @bhanner95 ...and it is just as loud as a regular fan.

  • @bhanner95 run by a motor tested to run for 15 years straight, :D

  • I don't need a fan, i live in Scotland. haha

  • "Full On Charcoal Kind Of Guy" - We know what kind of girls Chris Likes.

  • I think the point of this product right now is just a luxury item but I think its a good way to point into the future of fans.

  • Why does everyone stick their hands through the center as if that's where the air were coming from?

  • THIS FAN IS SO INCOGNITO !!! i want one

  • i am not a fan.

  • I'm goin 2 wait 10 years for cheaper quieter ones whts the point of having a silent computer and a loud fan

  • im using a fan that i put together from 2 dumpster dive finds,

my fan works better than any pussy air multiplier lol!

  • @lockergnome Charcoal and graphite FTW!

  • Come on dude, if you open the top of it, there is still a fan at the bottom, so that means you still have to clean the fan at the bottom! What is the point of that! It would be cool if there was no fan in it at all and it doesn't make a noise! Waste of money.

  • saw one experienced one and i must say i prefer normal fans to their overall force of the wind that hits you. from something that works on the same principal as a jet engine i was actually severely dissapointed.

  • you can get an air conditioner for not much more than this "air multiplier"

  • cool, maybe i could make one, you know, on one of those days i happen to have time, a bunch of random plastic, and such. yeah, maybe later. "iz a fan of this fan", lol, but $300 could buy me half an android phone, specifically the galaxy s2. (im a fan of that too, =)

  • Dyson calls their vacuums the "suck multiplier".

  • how does it work?

  • The fans are in the base. It's junk

  • companies could take a turd and claim it purifies the air and gullible people will spend $300 for it ill take that $300 and put it towards a air conditioner

  • woah youtubes pause and audio buttons look weird what did they change this time

  • Its just a fan, so its choppy but if you need to spend $300 the by all means buy it.

  • Love Dyson products, very well design, love mine Dyson Vacuum which I called "Transformer Vacuum". The only on con about Dyson is the PRICE.

    MacMike1000

  • how it works...

  • how does it work?

  • it sounds like a xbox 360

  • This didn't show up in my sub box. I watched it on Google +

  • Sucky uppy things haha

  • i got one they're great.

  • no blades to clean, just the airfoil. lol

  • Yes! 175th :P

  • Nice Portal reference.

  • Witchcraft!

  • 0:01 - 0:09 I LOL'd.

  • for some reason it looks fake like the blue round part it looks really fake does anyone else feel the same way.

  • This does about the same thing as a $15. fan. My money is valuable so I didn't buy this.

  • I would buy this if it was about 200 dollars cheaper. You can buy an airconditioner for cheaper and it blows cool air.

  • How does it work?

  • Best intro in the world!

  • i've always wanted to know how these things work..

  • oh i just saw 1 of those few days ago

  • I want the long one :D

  • I had seen this in the background of one video awhile ago and i was wondering how long it would be till Chris introduced it to a video, finally he did. obviously!

  • These would make great pc fans scaled down

  • @thetechgeneration Actually it wouldn't make a good PC fan. It is a good idea, but the way that it functions, you couldn't have anything in front of the fan, like a heat sink, in order for it to work. The air multiplier works by blowing air over the wing surface and it gets wider towards the exit, which creates a low pressure and sucks more air through. If you put something in front of it, you wouldn't have the low pressure and it wouldn't push the air through.

  • I want one but don't wanna spend my life savings on a fan.

  • Obvious portal reference is obvious.

  • yeah for 300 big ones screw that thing.

  • If your goal is just to circulate air, than this device isn't bad, especially if you have small kids & or pets that might get there hands or paws in the blades of a fan. As you do point out, there is no choppy air to blow papers & other things around, the down side is, since this air multiplier is so underpowered, it doesn't circulate air at a significant enough volume or speed to truly help cool a really hot room. A floor fan pointed at the ceiling can prevent blowing stuff around.

  • Do you still have to clean the turbines hidden in the black compartment?

  • because we all know normal fans are just spinning knifes that chop air.
