@dregerclock Once you get high enough to command an entire fleet it's relatively similar (although much more realistic with limited resources and the need for a CAP around your carrier at all times). Before that however you can only command fighters and later smaller capital ships. They play like wing commander and bridge commander respectively.
Each campaign is really a massive RTS operation, the computer fights itself and it's intentions are translated as "Missions" you can select. Extremely dynamic battlefield like in a real-war. Just because you fail the mission doesn't mean game is over either. Most realistic "war/sim" game ever in this sense. you fight in the air, go up in rank, get medals, command of a starship. Fans of Klingon Academy will feel at home with the internal management controls and subsystem-targeting, etc.
how simular is this to homeworld2? I loved that game but it wont run for me on my computer anymore.
