  • Best. Movie. Ever.

  • This movie was just Pocahontas retold. Don't believe me? Look at the similarities.

  • @fossilpro Actually, it's more like a retelling of Dances With Wolves. But that is an interesting parallel you've drawn.

  • and 1 more thing if you diss people who like this movie and the message why are you on here

  • i think anyone who didnt like this film and the message it gave is a jackass who doesnt really care bout whats happening to our world

  • god damn theres alot of hippie liberals in this fuckin world...its a fuckin movie you arses! and its nothing more then a mash up of fern gulley and pochahontis

  • @0122358

So I guess you're an asshole Conservative.

    Cheers to you.

  • love it. im sure regadless of what happens in the future it is inevitable that humans will colonise and mine other planets for resources. It's what we do.

  • reminds me of summer for some reason

  • WONDERFUL MOVIE I CRYED FROM MY SOUL WHILE I WAS WATCHING IT :/

  • Eywa is here on earth. She is our Mother, and does what is best. Don't kill her, repay her...

  • What we need is ISV Venture Star :D

  • @valttu94 otherwise when we fuck up this planet we will have no escape D:

  • rip off of pocahontas this and rip off of pocahontas that how the fuck is it a rip off of that movie? ive seen pocahontas and it was okay but this is not a rip off of pocahontas

  • @odstarmor557 its basicly the same story line. boy comes in foreign place. meets a native girl. two fall inlove but can't be together because both sides have a conflict.

  • This was not released in 09. It was released forever in our minds.

  • there r ppl who like it and ppl who dislike the movie. neither kind of person will change their mind on it, so there is no point in trying to convince others to like it or dislike it. it's all about what u value in a movie. if u dislike unoriginal movies, and predictable storylines, then u may not like it and shouldn't bother paying attention to it. if u like movies that immerse u into a whole other world then u will likely like this movie.

  • James Horner è il migliore

  • The movie is good. But, I don't know why everybody says that has amazing special effects. Revenge of Siths don't have anything that this movie don't have.

  • -_-' The film ripped off about 5 Cartoons. It's millions of dollars of shiny.

The money that went into making this thing could have gone towards feeding the poor or helping the environment or building homes. The music's pretty, the effects are pretty but really, it was an unoriginal waste

  • @HiddenHeartsCry The money also could have gone into weapons research, financing wars, or funding strip mining or deforestation. So I still say we're ahead of the game. And we've got an amazing film, forever.

  • @AbsentWithoutLeaving We've got an unoriginal film that has floored people with special effects.

  • @HiddenHeartsCry As you like. Personally, I enjoyed immersing myself in the world that Cameron et al created; Cameron admitted the story line was unexceptional. It was equally unexceptional when Arthur Laurents wrote it (West Side Story), when Shakespeare wrote it (Romeo and Juliet), when Ovid wrote it (Pyramus and Thisbe)...you get the picture.

But if you find this film 'unoriginal' and therefore unworthy of being made or watched, what are your recommendations?

  • @HiddenHeartsCry But would it have gone to feeding the poor? I very much doubt it.

  • @HiddenHeartsCry To quote the great Hank Green: "There are two ways to make our world better, you increase the awesome, or you can decrease the suck".

  • @HiddenHeartsCry i agree, people should put more money into helping the enviornment, but the poor can help themselves. poor people is just one of the many things that come with overpopulation there are more than enough humans on this planet destroying everything we don't need more

  • Inspiring film.

  • The film is a milestone for CGI technology, but the story could've been better cus it's kinda like Pocahontas...I enjoyed it when I watched the dvd anyway

  • i haven't seen the movie, but the soundtrack makes we want to go see it!

  • reminds me of enemy at the gates

  • This song is really beautiful!

  • LOVED Avatar. Not Cameron's finest hour, but certainly one of his most epic.

Definitely one of the greatest sci-fi wet dreams.

  • best movie i've EVER seen... and trust me... i've seen a lot for my age...

  • "In the 22nd century, the population of the planet had more than tripled since the previous century. Due to pollution, famine, poverty, and war, the population had topped out at around 20 billion people. The Earth is now a decaying world, covered in a haze of greenhouse gasses. Anyone left out in the open or in the cities, must wear oxygen-replenishing cleaners, called exopacks, over their faces just to survive one Earth day. The less fortunate are left on their own. "

  • WHATS THAT SONG PLAYING WHEN JAKE IS AT THE HALOGRAM TABLE EXPLAINING TO THEM THE INNER STRUCTURE OF THE TREE. I WANT TO THE THE SONG THAT PLAYS DURING THAT SCENE

  • this movie was pretty good. too bad this score here is so unique because its probably one of my favorite scores.

  • love this film, makes me laugh when people say it's rubbish, and i ask if they seen it, and they say no!!!! how can u not like something if u haven't seen it?

  • I think that in the movie the mining corporation people are a bunch of retards. In the end of the film they should have withdrawn to orbit and nuked the avatarians froma safe distance.

    Movie over.

    Mining corporation fail.

  • @Alexplus20 Agreed... they are a buch or retards...

  • @Alexplus20 Lol! XD A little advice: Search at yt for "How Avatar should have ended". ;)

  • I'm working on writing a fictional novel and I love listening to this music because it really helps my imagination launch (if that makes sense haha) :)

  • now that i look at it, there really was nothing special at all about this film. But no other movie has made me that emotionally moved at the end, not even lord of the rings. I remember getting "pandora-pression" for the whole day afterwards, it was a strange feeling haha

  • @waddupnoob i remember feeling the same way...i loved this movie for the creative graphics and amazing muic and its message, even though its like dances with wolves in space....but the message ges across ^^

    Dont destroy earth

there is no pandora to escape to

but itd be sweet of there was

  • @SkiesAreMyLimit haha to be honest i didnt get the message until somone explained it to me, so i guess my pandora-pression had nothing to do with the "save the earth, hug a tree" kinda thing.

  • 3:00-3:06, my fave part of this track!!

  • So what if this movie doesn't seem so original even Cameron admits that. What matters is the truth of the message of this film. Let's not destroy our home planet. Protect the balance of life!

  • the music is so much more then beautiful

  • watch the movie and see how much the human's destroyed the earth and big parts of the nature! we need to restore it adn be ashame of this what we've done to the earth.

  • James Horner is a genius, simply one of the best film scorers. So glad he wrote this!

  • you need to be a true dreamer, to enjoy life

  • I liked the movie but it was so predictable. I didn't care what was going to happen next. The dialogue was also really dull. It was just iike, "so here's the avatar lab" "lets ride in a helicopter" "lets take some samples" "lets practice the ways of the Navi"

  • + it will be called Na'vi as that is what they are

  • the movie WAS perfect, except for one thing, the last few scenes messed up the film, due to the man not having much damage to himself with such a high fall in that sort of machinery. its humanly impossible. other than that, it was great

  • i really cant believe that the hurt locker won the oscars ><

  • @rolle16

Y'know what.. I would say that it's because that Avatar was just a 3D, sci-fi version of Pocahontas (and that's a fact, please, don't tell me it isn't). Don't think I am a hater. I was impressed and stunned by this movie. It's just not too.. original :D That's why perhaps they've picked The Hurt Locker that involved drama of oh-so-evil Iraqi(?) war and personal problems of random military dudes because it was still somewhat hot topic by that time..

  • this film deserves whats the best....

i cant wait for Avatar 2....

  • When I watched the film I thought it was about 6 hours later when i took off my 3d glasses... I was completely captivated! In this point it was the BEST FILM I'VE EVER SEEN! ♥

  • hey you, sarp and 2009band, maybe is the best movie in years, but how to train your dragon is the best movie over Avatar, and i watched avatar 2 times

  • the best movie ever. very good soundtrack

  • the 5 years that took James Cameron have not been useless, the best film I've Ever watched....

  • @X33Robin33X 15 years

  • @djpro222 ha o soory , so yeah 15 years ^^

  • Another wonderful piece from the genius of JH. I suggest you to have a listen to A Kaleidoscope of Mathematics, from A Beautiful Mind, another piece of his, that sounds like this st at many times! ;)

  • same in here Sarputku

  • dont hate participate

  • I loved this movie. People who thought this movie is racist can suck it, it's a beautifully done movie that made me feel warm inside like I just ate a puppy. <3

  • @JacintaXindella

Why the fuck would people think this movie is racist?

  • so great soundtrack :D

  • Comment removed

  • I really like this movie. idk of people that hate it. Its the best movie in yrs.

  • Best film since Lord of the Rings.

  • absolutely... but lord of the rings is better ^^

  • @kadddl

I will agree with you on that one..

  • Comment removed

  • @kadddl ill have to fight you to the death over that statement

    lol :)

  • @2009band you mean EVER

    the best movie EVER

  • @2009band you mean EVER

    the best movie EVER

  • @2009band I dont love this movie, because i think the story is very very boring... I don't need visual effects, i need exciting and good story with good actors... No need here blue jumping sh*ts.

  • @o0XxShimmyxX0o Dont like the film then fuck of simple

This is for people who appreiacte and know a good film when they see one rather then the mindless gunfights and explosions

Dont like the film dont comment stop being such a attention seeker and get a life little boy

  • @Penutheadify

i dont like films with mindless gunfights and explosions.... Avatar has a easy stupid story. I like type of these movies: Shawshank Redemption, Shutter island, Forrest gump, Inception, The prestige...

the people have law to write opinion..

And you say " get a life " , you write this because it's the latest, but you know NOTHING about my life..

I dont like this movie, then i haven't life???

  • @o0XxShimmyxX0o No you dont have a life because you searched avatar on youtube just to diss it of

And its really unessary to write your opionion in a soundtrack what it is here for people who appreiate good movies to listion to

    your attention seeking end of

If not you dont like the film dont comment on it simple

  • @Penutheadify

Congratulations, if you know my life about my 4-5 sentences...

Stop writing this f**king latest sh*t!!

I searched good movie soundtracks and i find this avatar, i like James Horner and it will be curious.

And you don't say me where can i write comment, it's not your own video!

  • @2009band still is i hope they make a 2nd one

  • @2009band And all it had to do was pretty much copy what the colonists did to the native Americans.

  • @2009band why people dislike it. (Hate is a strong word) story concept has been used dozens of times particular in films such as : The last Samurai, Dances with wolves, Pocahontus. Being made by James Cameron, you'd expected a lot more from the story.

Also-it is overhyped. People calling it spectacular-no. The visuals were the best thing out of the entirety of the movie and hell-even the visuals are not even original. Some of the visuals were taken from final fantasy.

  • or Ferngully

  • I just saw this movie for the third time today and I have to admit that it never gets old.

  • This is more dramatic than Narnia and a lot more interesting to watch and to listen to

  • Everyone needs to go on IMDB and rate this film a 10, bring up the raitings!

  • i know right!!

  • 3:40 it´s like narnia^^

  • in some moment's remind me "enemy in gate" "narnia" and "medal of honor" (game) but still it's great soundtrack

  • Doesn't work in Holland though...

  • the soundtrack is fantastic!!!!!

  • to bad you can only buy the full soundtrack, but most of the songs are brilliant so thats cool.

  • Wow! Those four notes at 0:58 are TOTALLY original!

  • @JoeSnyderwalk

    Enemy at the Gates :P

  • Star Trek 2, Willow, Bicentennial Man, Enemy at the Gates, Troy...umm...Avatar!

  • Lord of the Rings

  • funny you should mention those 4 notes. That's his signature "enemy" motif. Look for it in Mask of Zorro. A variation of it is in Wrath of Khan too.

  • Wow, it's THAT old? Somebody dated in back to "Willow," but apparently he was off by six years! XD! Yeah, this guy really rips himself off liberally and his English accent feels so pretentious but I still LOVE his music and I think this is easily one of his best scores!

  • I just want the eintire soundtrack

  • this film is the best i have ever watched in my life !!! really amazing i want to watch it again thanks to james cameron and his special team im waiting its second film !!!! its perfect one word PERFECT !!

  • haha, it looks like itll be a few years

  • @SarpUtku: yes this film is really the best i have ever seen in my life!!!!! When i saw the na´vi i immediately wanted to have my own avatar!!!!!

  • @Gebieter95 Well Agreed :]

  • @SarpUtku lol? Avatar 2? Where did you heard that?

I don't believe there is come a second part..

  • @OneFireworks My brother mentioned that avatar was actually a trilogy to begin with :) So hopefully this is true and we have more awesome films coming up! :D

  • @OneFireworks james cameron actually said there will be a sequel (not under the name Avatar 2 of course, because were not dealing with the avatar body's anymore)

  • @SarpUtku isnt released until 2014

  • What was completely awesome about this score is that I was unaware until the very end that James Horner wrote it. He is an amazing composer, yet he carries prominent themes throughout his works. I did not recognize them here. For him to have created a soundtrack that fit so perfectly with the movie yet was so vastly different then what he had created before vastly increased my respect for him as a composer.

  • There were some obvious motifs that he reused from his past scores, i.e. Troy/Jumanji/Enemy at the Gates.

Not to mention the Celtic elements ( the vocals, flute)

He produces great work, but I still think he wanted to be recognized throughout this movie. The soundtrack to this movie was not vastly different, but a brilliant fit to the movie's complex emotions.

  • Where can u download it? :(

  • Itunes has it, but not individually or for free obviously. If you are willing to spend $10 then its all there.
