@SteelTheBerserker Personally, I don't see how she could wreck the concept of a mermaid. Basically a mermaid is the head, torso, and arms of a woman, and the tail of a fish conected at the waist, but there are other half-human half-aquatic animal types that could fall under the mermaid category. Now unless she makes them like have reptile heads, chimpanzee bodies, dolphin/whale tails, and tentacles for hair, then they'd probably be screwed up.

Stephanie Meyer kind of sucks when it comes to her writing skills. My cousins book is based on Alaskan mermaids which are pretty freaky.
