I cant understand why they dont collect the eggs and raise some of these fish in hatcheries to preserve reproduction and possibly reintroduce them back into their former habitats..We have done this with Sturgeon, and other Salmanoids for decades.

Knowing how frugal and resourcefull they are,in other areas,makes the fact that they don't allready have hatcheries and/or a sustainability policy in place,all the more confusing and upsetting.

If people will eat them,people will eat them till they're all gone.That's one of the problems with people.If you could actually get lots of people,and not just a few starving sailors,to eat sea cucumbers,they'd be endangered too.People need to learn to curb their appetites.And not just nosh everything all the time.

There ARE poorer people than me,who are on the front lines of the movement to stop over-fishing.They realize if they eat ALL the fish,there won't be any left TO eat...So they don't take ALL or even most...And,as timetodepop pointed out,if they were smart poor people,they'd create a hatchery and become rich.
