I think something we should all universally agree with on the left and right is that money corrupts politics. Hampering politicians from receiving any or having them give out full disclosure on who they do dealings with is a good first step in knowing who represents what.
Massachusetts beat Texas in Jobs in 2011? Really? Everybody Google that real quick to see what a lying idiot Jerry Springer is. Texas was #1 in employment this year. Try watching the News instead of Jerry Springer you fucking idiots.
I agree with the sentiments of Liberals but time and time and time and time again the government of the USA FAILED the american people!!! we elect representatives who bend over for corporate interests, the health bill is already fucked up.
@KillTheFuckinCommies Well I guess I'm one of those faggot conformist communist cunts, but unfortunately for you one who believes in gun rights. Come try to mass murder me and I'll put 10 inch hole in your stupid Republican fascist head. Asshole.
@KillTheFuckinCommies I've heard the same exact statement made by you, replacing your "communist/liberal" with "facist/conservative". You're not exactly a unique snowflake yourself.
It's amazing to watch people go batshit insane when they can't logically defend a point of view they hold and have complete, violent fantasy inducing meltdowns. So yes, please go on a murder rampage, tough guy. THAT WILL SHOW THEM ALL. Please start with yourself first.
Jerry: "Every penny the government takes is to employ people"... What Ant should have come back with "Every penny the government takes comes out of the wallet of someone that earned that penny and is usually wasted on bullshit union jobs or pork projects".
@rrrrramone I would add to that that government is more insensitive to the backlash from the consumer. Assuming you don't like a government service, can you choose to not pay for it? No. Value comes from individuals, if a firm produces negative value it necessarily means it did not fulfill the demand well enough and that the input into the firm (resources) had more value when unexploited. Every job the government gives is by nature makework as the gov has no accurate clue where value is.
@ExquisiteDoom Amtrak, Public transportation, DOT and Public Teachers, to name a few, all prove your point.
Do you find it funny that Social Security, Veterans pay and Medicare are always the first to go if there was a government "default"? How about cutting the bridges to nowhere and illegal immigrant entitlements first? I know its just a Democrat scare tactic but people are too stupid to realize it.
@rrrrramone Well, i have a feeling you will disagree but personally, i beleive those who makes mistakes have to pay for it, if the public and vets fell for social security and medicare as being an overall good idea for them and blindly trusting their old age finances into the hands of government i just can't feel any pain about them being the victims, theoretically, even though i would dislike it if were to happen to me! I beleive we should ALSO cut the bridges to nowhere AND entitlements.
@ExquisiteDoom At the time, under FDR, SS and and medicare were great ideas because the nation was young and everyone was working. 20 workers putting money in for every person taking money out. The problem we have now is that everyone has passed the buck and theres no money left to take because the nation is getting old.
I like your point in regards to Obama & Co ruining everything they touch though. They voted for him and im GLAD people are losing their jobs... Reap what you sow America!
@rrrrramone To be honest, the economic free rider problem as a social phenomenon the government causes is not a problem reserved to left-wing ideologies. It's simply this. A free market in i don't know... Copper for example causes the price of a pound to become "x". If the government comes in and re-embourse half of the cost to the buyer, then consumers will consume copper as if there was twice more available (or half the cost X/2 ) causing shortages short term. "continued part 2"
@rrrrramone "part 2" which , in this case, since the copper miners receive full payment for every ounce, their proft margin increases potentially leading to an increase in productive capacity and perhaps more competitors would seek a place in this market, meaning, instead of doing what people needed under real copper prices, now more people work in copper mines, while they do that they aren't doing something else which could have been more important, but the gov just decided what is best"part 2"
@ExquisiteDoom Theres no competition when the government throws their hat into the ring though... The government has bottomless pockets and doesnt need to make a profit.
" part 2" for us on a whim. If in reality, copper wasn't as much a necessity as the gov guessed, we just wasted all this extra labor in an industry that is not as important which for one harms overall productivity as the more urgent matters aren't taken care of which means you also lost an important compounding factor for economic growth. The same goes with medicare. And SS simply causes the workforce to lose value as they don't have to work as much, gain experience as much, etc.
@KillTheFuckinCommies Amen brother... Im GLAD that people are losing their jobs because of Obama's shitty policies.
Anthony also did a shitty job defending his point of view. He could/should have ripped this asshole with a tv show a new one but he didnt. Jerry also wouldnt shut the hell up either though which is why these idiots think that he "owned" Ant.
@KillTheFuckinCommies You argue like a spoiled teenager, calm down and get a grip. Spoiler: Communism doesnt exist anymore, all that cold war paranoia has corrupt your mind, stop thinking in black and white.
1:00 First: Massachusetts is operating under a multi billion dollar deficit. Romney care is a bust. Every illegal and their mother gets free healthcare. The program loses hundreds of millions of dollars a year. It's only operational because of federal money. Thanks everyone.
1:16 Second: Our unemployment rate is low because of our hi-tech/scientific industries. We don't have to rely solely on industrial and manufacturing like other states such as Texas. We also have a much smaller population.
waiting for the clip to upload...but I have a hard time believing that since all of the arguments endorsing liberalism I've encountered have been economically, politically, and philosophically retarded and illogical then I have a hard time believing Jerry Springer will magically make liberalism make sense.
Noone can defend the government using the threat of violence to collect money from citizens to redistribute as they see fit. They been trying this approach for years and look at us now.
Fuck springer and his left wing bullshit all of you bleeding hearts want to give your money to fucking lazy ass parasites fine....don't tell others what to do with theirs. Fuck welfare and food stamps etc. Let them all die. (rant over)
I'm pretty sure a big chunk of that so called stimulus was tax cuts for those cunty rich people. They don't have enough money you know, so screw the poor and middle class!
@Pooternackle5 A welfare system's ability to allow people to purchase goods isn't what's keeping this economy going. We DON'T need people on welfare to keep purchasing goods, we need savings and capital investments to grow an economy, not over-consumption and debt, which is basically what you're saying.
@Pooternackle5 Not true, we have more regulations than most countries. I didn't conveniently leave out anything, quite the contrary. Under Eisenhower, our economy was much MORE free. Even with the 90% top marginal tax rate, our economy still had no medicare, no social medicaid, no EPA, no affirmative action, strong borders, a currency still based in precious metals, the rest of the industrialized world in ruins from WWII. Our economy still did well DESPITE the 90% marginal taxes.
@Pooternackle5 The economic sectors of the countries you listed are strong because they manufacture goods and export a lot, and they don't nearly have the amount of regulations the United States does. You have no idea how much better off those countries would be economically if their social programs were completely gone and the free-markets were allowed to work. That isn't to say that that's what SHOULD happen because it DOES work well for those relatively small countries.
@Pooternackle5 They have mixed economies yes, but you're missing key points. The western European countries are MUCH different than America, and what works there may very well NOT work in the United States. The United States has too many corrupt politicians passing illegitimate legislation that protect certain sectors of the economy that consequently drive up prices. You don't see this as much in western European countries. The United States has 50 states, and 300,000,000 people - big difference
@Pooternackle5 Nobody paid that 90%, there were so many loopholes, the income tax didn't even start getting enforced until the 50's. The super rich don't even make money from traditional income, its all about dividends. Plus we were living on a war economy bubble that popped in the 70's.
people at the top of society have benefited most from the structure of that society. if they want to preserve that society and their position in it, they should make sure those who have benefited least have the basics taken care of and so dont feel like destroying that society.
@123jataylor If anyone is going to destroy society, it's not going to the be the people on the bottom. Only the elite have the power now to destroy our economy or develop and implement something that could destroy of literally.
