This film is pure trash. I cannot understand how anyone can enjoy this crap. Some of miikes films are great but this had no entertainment value whatsoever. miike takashi had a cameo in hostel 2, he was the japanese customer leaving the murder factory. he also used to have 'gummo' instead of his real name on the mailbox in his apartment.

This film is an exceptional portrayal of family values and deep moral imprints that go way beyond the taboos that are the face-value of the experience. Miike has a sublime way of showing beauty through disfunction and this film is one of his best in that respect. People who dismiss it as just another sick and deranged film with no real meaning just do not understand the true morals hidden within. This film is shocking, very funny, but above all else it is beautiful.
I know this has a lot of disturbing themes and sexual things. But is there a lot of torture/ kind of bloody scenes. Or is it not disturbing in that way?

You're welcome friend. I respect the fact the you do not like this film, which is understandable. But do not call it trash because it was not your cup of tea.
I thought it was endearing, the family gets brought together again and is symbolized by the nurturing mother figure. All is healed, all is good. It's sort of ironic and ridiculous, but that's the fun of it.

It's so sad when someone actually buys the hype and thinks this is an "important, artistic movie" full of "tragic social commentary," when this is little more than a snuff porn piece. This is as bad as "Audition" is good, and Audition is a horror masterpiece.

The movie is an incredibly pretentious piece of trash, aimed solely to push the envelope and disguised by a facade of social commentary. But the "social commentary" is so slim, so vapid, and so incredibly poorly done, that all you are left with is a bizzarre visitor getting lactated on under an umbrella.

Oh my god that scene is so good!
I thought it was endearing, the family gets brought together again and is symbolized by the nurturing mother figure. All is healed, all is good. It's sort of ironic and ridiculous, but that's the fun of it.
