The top of a building just exploded, and the bridge too, but one hour later not a single police or fireman was in sight. Amazing. Did no one really noticed an explosion that big!?
@IsThisHacked Neither Bazett nor Avenger had heard of police or firemen before, I guess.
Possibly because, though Avenger has been watching over the last few real Grail Wars, the two groups have been inexplicably absent from all events, no matter how big (though the Self-Defense Forces have shown up before).
@AshokaAnandaeSaha As long as I don't overuse it myself, I can still use it with its original force and meaning on the occasion I do decide to use it.
Anyway, note that there is an adjective in Japanese which can mean either epic or legendary (in their original forms). In fact, it is a word used quite often in Fate (the word for Heroic Spirit uses it rather than Heroic [Heroic Spirit is one of Nasu's famous "official" English words, much like with the UBW chant]).
@AshokaAnandaeSaha By the way, while I'm on that topic, note that the UBW chant (both of them, in fact) in Japanese is actually COMPLETELY different from the Nasu-official English version. Also note that, in the original version, it showed the chant in English with the Japanese in superscript over it (much like hiragana spacial pronunciations tend to be with kanji).
@AshokaAnandaeSaha Also note most Nasu-official English Nasuwords were the same way, as well as all those German spells for that matter, and Insani (the guys who translated the original trial/demo version of FSN back in the day, like 7 years ago) actually kept that intact, although mirror moon left that out when they translated the full version.
@XerBlade The completely bollocked german I was painfully but amusedly aware of. The different, probably more correct but less awesome english UBW chant was doubly dissappointing, since I thought it would sound more awesomeif the pronounciation where perfect.
@AshokaAnandaeSaha *ahem* On the Archer version, in the last line, I just realized my mistake when reading back over it, but "is" should have been "was." The tense is important.
@AshokaAnandaeSaha Exactly my point. I did that to illustrate that you weren't actually understanding what I was saying.
In the original VN, it showed the chant in both English AND Japanese at the same time, the English in the main line with the JP superscripted above it. The JP was that, while the EN was the "bone of my sword" stuff which everyone know. Also, the original JP version of the TV anime used that same EN version.
@AshokaAnandaeSaha However, the English dub of the TV anime rewrote the EN ver. to a new, slightly different version (based entirely on the original VN/anime's EN lines, not the JP ones that were also in the VN), which is what you were thinking I was talking about.
Also note that, in Realta Nua, when voices were added, Shirou says his version in Japanese instead of English (regardless of the on-screen text), and what he's saying is actually that JP version I just posted.
Even though EMIYA is a better fighter without the bow because of projection/trace spam, it's just so damn awesome to see him fight like an ARCHER for a change. Hell, he's a better archer - skill wise- than Gilgamesh, the guy who sits on his ass while Gates of Babylon rapes the enemy.
@narutardkyuubi *swifts 3 pages to the left* i have proof. The creator of fate stay night himself once stated that Heroic Spirit Emiya was NOT from the three routes provided in fate/stay night. so explain: how come archer sounds nostalgic to the point where he sounds like hes Fate Shirou?
@TheRunedExperience Simple. Considering that all three routes have the same beginnings, that is, Shirou summoning Saber and entering the Grail War, then Archer should be able to remember that. Personally, I believe that Archer comes from a route similar to, but not, the Fate route. Also, make sure you consider context, Nasu is infamous for contradicting himself and making things up on the spot *snark*3rdpersonalityshiki*snark*
@narutardkyuubi (in this scenario, this would make sense.) maybe the Ilya route involves a near exact copy of fate, with shirou in love with saber, but the archer at that time was NOT heroic spirit emiya.
@TheRunedExperience Yeah. Maybe Ilya route involves Herakles summoned as an Archer, someone else as Berserker, and no S.Emiya. Archer is definitely connected with Ilya though. He's become extremely pragmatic, like his father, but absolutely refuses to harm Ilya, despite the fact she'll die in a few years no matter what. There's something about her in his past.
@bwother Personally, I love every bit of it, but I do realize that most people are into this Type-Moon stuff for the action and GAR moments mainly, rather than the literary quality like I am.
@XerBlade you have to admit it does tend to drag on though. But there are more interesting moments than just the GAR moments, like Shirou after taking off the shroud and realising that as soon as he loses his concentration his mind will disappear and pretty much any time that 'ever-present feeling' plays
@HJKLMGPU 1. Using all the Command Spells doesn't mean they'll disappear, it only means you have no more way to force the Servant into submission if they don't like you, so you run the risk of them rebelling. Also note that it's traditional for Masters to be assholes who treat their Servants like slaves.
2. See end of scene, and note that time loops from right after this point, so it's not like it matters much anyway.
@rottyr12375458412453 The same 4 days are repeating over and over. And only Shirou and a few other characters (not who you'd expect) realize it. That's the premise of Fate/hollow ataraxia. So, after this, it starts back over from 4 days ago as if none of this happened.
At the risk of exposing my ignorance, isn't Saber supposed to dissapear now? Shirou did kind of...use the last command spell. Or is the current screwery of mana causing Saber to remain?
Servants remain after Command Spells have been used up. The connection is still there, its just that the Master no longer has a means of enforcing their role as servant.
...Back up a video (part 1 of this scene) and read the description. Or back up to my first hollow ataraxia video and read that description for more detail. That kind of reading can tend to solve most ignorance problems.
Not only is it not fan-made, ..., ..., Fate/stay night didn't have voices either. The PS2 remake of Fate/stay night (which came out a couple years after F/ha) later added voices. Believe it or not, most visual novels don't have voices. Generally the ones that do originally didn't and had them added later in a PS2 remake after they got really popular (seriously lol, it's pretty common practice).
This scene, and especially,Saber, are so awesome I want to see it fully animated!Someone had better make a Fate Hollow Ataraxia anime soon!

@AshokaAnandaeSaha Well, to illustrate my point a bit further, here's the JP version of the UBW chant:
My body is made of swords.
Iron is my blood, and glass is my heart.
I have survived countless battles.
Never retreating.
Never understood.
Always alone, intoxicated with victory on this hill of swords.
Thus, this life has no meaning.
This body is surely made of swords.
XerBlade 5 days ago
@AshokaAnandaeSaha And the Shirou version:
My body is made of swords.
Iron is my blood, and glass is my heart.
I have survived countless battles.
Never retreating.
Never victorious.
I bear it alone lying here, forging iron on this hill of swords.
Thus, my life needs no meaning.
My body is made of infinite swords.
