Yes, just break the shotgun open, drop in the adapter, drop in the shell, close the gun and shoot normally. The adapter and empty shell will come out together.
I wonder why nobody mills 12 inch .rifled 357 barrels down to fit break-action 12 or 20 gauge shotguns.?. The insert can be chambered for.357 but can shoot 38 Spec. or smaller 38 cartridges. 357 shot as well.
The insert will fit tight like a 12/20 gauge shell in the chamber area.Beyond that it can be slightly undersized but held centered and tight by using 2 imbedded O-rings like a Savage "410'er" The extra length and rifling will give greatly increased accuracy plus some noise reduction.
