The original alternate ending: Johnny hands Danial the trophy and shouts "daniel your good" and raises Dans arm in the air. he reminds me of one of those very arrogant kids at school who are naturally gifted all rounder sport stars at school who just dont like weakness.

@Hijinx1982 Well it's highly unlikely today, since the entire world has seen this movie thousands of times, but still possible. To say it would never happen still wouldn't be wise, because like Miyagi pointed out, it's possible for any technique to work given the right situation and timing.

This was an underdog story so naturally the movie wasnt going to end like this besides those cobra kai kids were douchebags anyways. I laughed when the blonde pretty boy bad ass got owned anyways but hey to each his own though.

@randomguy2OOO He was portrayed in the film as being really good, but if you watch, he was so bad. And the defence to the crane technique is to duck and/or push the leg up or to the side. Or counter with a punch during the setup. That 'no can defend' theory was nonsense.

I read somewhere that Zabka actually hated his character in this movie.

@BoyScout1960 That's not quite true. Zabka liked playing this role, he just doesn't agree with the simplistic interpretation that he's an irredeemable villain. From Johnny's viewpoint, LaRusso is a smug, troublemaking outsider. Watch the movie again, and you'll see that Daniel invites a lot of the crap he gets in this movie. That doesn't make the Cobra Kai the good guys, mind you, but it does shade everything that happens in the film in a more even way...
