There are students graduating from nursing programs and yet have had no licking finding work in the state of Ohio, I have a good friend of mine that lives in the state of Ct and her sister graduate this past June w/a B.S.N and as of today has had no luck what so ever finding a nursing position at all

What is the difference between RN and Nurse Practitioner please?

RN can work in any healthcare environment. Examples are ER,OR or floor nursing. An RN performs basic duties and carries out medication orders per physician.A Nurse Practitioner treats pt's and prescribes medications much like a physician. Our treatment and plan of care is monitored under a licensed physician. Hope this helps. Good luck in your endeavors.

I have my AAS and my BA in Liberal Arts.. BUT I'm unemployed and can't get ANY job... I'm thinking of going back to get a basic CNA certification and then working in a Hospital... Hopefully when I am there a year then the Hospital would pay for my continued education to become a RN, Lab Tech or Surgical Tech..

Could you share any advice for me on this plan? Is it a good idea or not?

@islandluc Obamacare goes into full effect in 2014 and does not need to go into full effect to have a negative effect on the economy. I was told by a nurse recruiter that due to the economy (Obamanomics) and the uncertainty of health care "reform" (Obamacare) hospitals are having hiring freezes. Also small business are not hiring as well due to all the health care mandates this communist regime will be imposing on this once free nation.

@RedMustangRN 2 many foreign nurses to take care of a "nurse shortage" that does not exist. Currently in a MSN program puts my student loans in deferment and I get an expense check as income. I am thinking of doing my own business as well. Used to make huge gains in my Roth IRA had to cash out to pay bills. Thinking of just borrowing the $ and being an independent investor 25% of our nations wealth is made this way. US makes nothing and we import foreigner to take the educated skilled jobs.
