A guy with Merlyn's hair, and Green Arrow still had to consult his smartphone? Batman being the world's greatest detective doesn't seem like such a big deal - I mean, look at his competition.
@TheCatwoman897 I'd rather get an arrow to the knee than the shoulder. Getting it in the shoulder would make it to where he may never be able to shoot another arrow, plus it's more painful cause you have more bone in that area.
Wow, they made Green Arrow such a chump in this short. First, gets bested by Merlin in their initial shoot out. Second, gets the CRAP beat out of him by some random thug (who should really consider becoming a big time villain after that.) Third, he can't do anything right and constantly lets his guard down (Count Vertigo, etc.) Sigh, Marvel's Hawkeye is just such a better version of the archer hero.
@ALM8990 Heroes with no flaws tend to be much less interesting. The fact that Green Arrow isn't portrayed as a perfect hero or a perfect person is what gives him depth. The goal of superhero fiction isn't to have the heroes win easily and without faltering, it's to present interesting stories and characters.
@RobinHood3000 Generally I agree, I mean the Count and Merlin bits I can understand (Merlin is a better archer anywho) but the fact some goon beats him up is just laughable. LAUGHABLE.
@ALM8990 I don't know if it's all that unrealistic. Green Arrow has always been one of the more subpar brawlers of the Justice League (that's been the purview of Batman and Black Canary), which is why he favors ranged weapons. Besides which, his opponent clearly had reach and weight-class advantages over him, plus Green Arrow had to protect Queen Perdita. If anything, it seemed like the fight was more believable than most comic book fights.
@0TheEdgyVeggie I don't mind it so much; in fact I think it adds to the story. That guy was obviously meant to be an elite (hey, even mooks can be top-notch fighters), plus it would be kinda boring to have GA just steamroll all of them without any hassle. Whilst GA's indisputably DC's greatest archer, he's certainly no Batman or Black Canary hand-to-hand, although to give him his due, he's pretty good at that too.
C'monm guys. America and Britain are the closest to be family than any other country. Families 'borrow' ideas. Why not a British League? Hell, we borrowed Life On Mars and Being Human. (Among others) and they've borrowed quite a few of ours (mostly game shows... We're sorry Britian) Just glad our attempt at Dr Who didn't take. That is and should be a British Delicacy we can import and enjoy. Bless BBC America.
Why does every American programme have to be so pro American and so anti everyone else? What annoys me even more, is that when Britain is portrayed on American tv, it's as royalty or bad guys. Do you just allow casual stereotyping in your country? We don't do it over here!
@finze1 well..... if you like i can upload some videos or comic of british league justice(i think this is the name) ,but srry if you feel bad about my video , and about why britain is "always" the bad guy i just know what to tell you.
@319mrod Ok first of all, we don't have a British exclusive justice league. For those Americans that were willing to cross the pond and see for themselves, the UK is very similar in fact it's often undistinguishable from America. Secondly, it's barely 'your' video is it? It's an animation that was written, drawn, animated and acted by a team of professionals, that you uploaded. My griping is in no way directed at you, just Western media in general.
@finze1 The British royalty is due to it being true. And if it's not true, that wedding didn't help much. As for the bad guy thing, I haven't noticed it, but if it's true that's fucked up.
@finze1 The funny thing about your comment is that the princess and count vertigo were Vlativan, not British. The assassin(Merlin) is also not British, despite his name he is actually an American. Unless I missed something, there were no British people in this animated short. I guess what i am saying is, what the heck are you talking about?
@carnaf7606 If that is the case, then why oh why do they insist on brandishing the British accent so perversely? Why would an American character have a name like Merlin and an incredibly prominent Southern English accent? Furthermore why does the character representing royalty have one too? At the very least it's patronising for the audience.
@finze1 why would they need to put a normal british guy in a show. we got normal people here. what we don't have is royalty so we borrow some from europe. it's not stereotyping it's a plot device.
@finze1 Even if the movie contains a stereotype of a certain group that does not reflect the views of an entire society. The entirety of the United States of America did not collaborate on the production of this movie and the people aren't "allowing" steroetyping when it does occur. The suggestion that the population is somehow responsible for the behaviour of every individual is ridiculous. I will not even comment on the ignorance of the assertion "we don't do it over here!".
@finze1 Well i like the fact that there is Pro American thing about it, after all it is the Justice League of America. I'm from Britain too but it dosent bother me if they potray us as a villian character or royalty cause they do make good characters. Last of all just because they put in a character which is a villian from another country dosent mean America hates that country or anything and if know that sterotyping isnt actually the way things are then u have nothing to worry about.
@finze1 Maybe if there weren't so many communists in Europe, there'd be more positive press?
And there are some British super heroes. V for Vendetta was British wasn't he? He was one of the best heroes to come from Britain... Constantine was British, too, I think... Professor X, Sir Edward Grey, Professor Broom... Batman's butler...
@eugoldlareg I don't think she realised, since she's Queen, and if I'm much mistaken when she marries it'll be to a Prince consort, since the title of King is only carried by the male heir of a royal line. And well Ollie just adapted it to make it relevant to himself:p

@NoobiusEradicus There is also a type of raptor (bird of prey) in the hawk family that is called a merlin. He might be named for that.

@NoobiusEradicus And its spelled Merlyn, not to be confused with Merlin in the Arthur story, in which some of the hero's are related to.
