  • Having played Ys Eternal Complete I&II's fan translation, I'm surprised to find the town to the south of Minea just... doesn't exist in this version.

  • Where did you find the rom at? i cant seem to find it anywhere...

  • Played it from the original CD, actually.

  • Oh crud, thx for the info.

  • I'm bitter. I tried loading up my old TGFX, it doesn't work. I wanted to play this one again :(

  • @ccpickre Ys is available for downloading on Nintendo Wii via the Virtual Console.

  • I finally played through this game on the virtual console and this is indeed a bad-ass game. There is one thing I found that you seemed to skip over though Un, and that is the doctor's office in Minea. Basically, you can go there to buy healing herbs and pay for life restoration but with the generous amounts of herbs they give you in treasure chests along with Adol's photosynthesis, I can understand why you didn't go to the place. Some nice nurse eye-candy there though.

  • "The man in the black cape is a real creap. He glows!"

I just love that comment =D This is a little different from the Sega Master System version.. But most of it is the same though.

  • I have this for the Sega Master System. It was my first RPG. =)

  • i have this game on PCEngine emulator and I am amazed by the music, especially for a 1988 console/game. Too bad on emulator the dungeon/field music always starts like 5 seconds ahead in the song though :(

  • I watched the anime based on this and it was horrible.

  • The Ys I anime was nothing to write home about, but I didn't think II was half bad. Helps to be a fan of the game, though.

  • Hm, the combat system is a little on the bland side, but it looks like a good game overall. You might say it seems Legend of Zelda-esque.

  • I remember a different game where the intro was some strange woman picking up a sailor at the dock, saying, "You're the man I've been looking for."

But I don't think that game can air on Youtube!

  • Ah, the music in Sara's shop. I used to stay there for ages just so I could listen to it.

  • Well, technically, Adol's luck with boats isn't any better than normal. In Ys Eternal, it opens with him washing ashore in a fishing town to the south of Minea.
