No surpises was not in the live that I have been to. This makes me want to see Radiohead's live again in the future, because of this song.
I really really like Radiohead. After seeing them live, I like them more. No one can ever compare to them, at least on my mind, they were not comparable to any bands in the world.
A heart that's full up like a landfill, a job that slowly kills you, bruises that won't heal. You look so tired-unhappy, bring down the government of mexico they don't, they don't speak for us. I'll take a quiet life, a handshake of carbon monoxide, with no alarms and no surprises, no alarms and no surprises, no alarms and no surprises, Silent silence. This is my final fit, my final bellyache,
I think it's because Thom doesn't even listen to the early stuff anymore. But whatever, sometimes what he replaces the lyrics with can be pretty funny.
i bet anything that you would be sweating blood, trying to play those notes in front of thousands of people, on one of the loudest and most recignizable sounds in the song.
sorry prada you got me wrong there. I was being jokingly sarcastic. I actually do love radiohead and would never even dream of being able to play such a beautiful song to the masses
sorry but glockenspiel is another instrument .. Made of metal , Xylophon made of some kind of wood ( and sound more gypsÿ^^ ) and glocken is german for Clock
This is sooooooo beautiful. This sort of sound should only be made in tiny little recording studios. They're in a fucking field with about 100,000 people!!!!1 Awesome!!!! I love Jonny!!!!!!
No. That would ruin the song. No surprises remember? The whole point is that its monotonous and looping. This is a very depressing song, and is sung accordingly
It's about living in the suburbs. Achieving everything a middle class family should achieve. A nice house. A couple kids. A reliable car. But does that really make you happy? Being trapped into a routine? Driving your kids to soccer practice? A life with no suprises? It's suburbia lifestyle. Something we never want to be when we are younger.
@InfidelCastrophobic i think also no alarms and no surprises can also mean after you have killed yourself you don't want people to be alarmed or surprised when they find you dead, thats not what you want after you've gone. If you choose not to be here it should be your choice, and that should mean that people should not be so alarmed when they find you'd taking time-out.
Yes, its exactly like that! Now, if only if you can read the title of the song, man! Like come on, if you don't know how to spell it, especially when your word is underlined in red, just look at the title. No SuRprises. :P
Its not, its about a modern life, that's full of no substance, pollution and noise and wanting a 'quiet life' away from it all. 'Let me outta here' points to a desire to escape.
i think it's about somebody not wantin' to take any more suffering, from relationships, or anything, like tired of not succeding or of the cruelty of the world and stuff. that's just an opinion. it's cool to have so many interpretations, huh?
They played some of the new material at this gig too. As well as stuff like Wolf at the Door, Yorke gave that song his all, as well as the Kid A stuff. It was a good gig. Opened with Airbag and ended with Creep. The gig was quite retrospective, but with a taste of whats to come.
to be fair i don't think the band were that up for this gig, they d been out the game for a long time and didn't really fancy just singing all the oldies just to let people know they weren't dead if u look at there more recent gigs with all the new material that enthusiasm is back just look at 15 step lol
i remember that aaahshake handshake mistake. great night - my first radiohead gig. almost got into a fight though. i was right at the front. only had to get there five hours early : )
