I think the part with "7 years(...)" and "20 years has gone so fast (...)" was ment to show that the time passes so fast and you can`t control / stop it (his father died but Billie`s and his family members` life still goes on).

I mean you can`t always interpret these lines literally.

Nope he wrote this song 7 years after his dad died but never wonted to properly use it. But he finally got round to emotionly do it and re wrote it but kept 7 years. Your half wright though.

The album took a turn from their normal punk sound getting fans of popularized music. It definetly has more emotion, but the punk is being retracted. They have reached a popularity that no punk band has ever before and thats such a non-punk thing to do. I admit these songs are amazing to hear in Hot Topic because you know it's targeting punk fans. It's different when preppy hiphop listeners listen to it and cherish it, but don't get into punk rock.
