Unlike some people I don't "plan" what I listen to or watch. I will view anything on the spur of the moment, however HMHB have been around years and I was curious to see whether they'd learned anything about sound quality. They had not.
You can't judge a bands sound quality from a youtube video cause its impossible to upload a good quality music file try downloading a M4A version and listining to it over good speakers before making a judgement
Only Nigel could get away with changing the last chorus to 'them's the aviaries', like he can get away with rhyming 'youth' with 'south' in '2 cheverons apart' and 'Marks & Spencers'and 'Lech Walesa' in 'Reflections in a flat'. Just a great band, thanks for video
A good music video is anything with Half Man Half Biscuit's music playing!!

When I'm in a big famous rock band, I want that guy who does the Half Man Half Biscuit videos to do all our stuff.

It's aviaries... the line before is: "You point to finches in my yard and you ask:
What’s them things there?" Birds being kept in an aviary you see.
There could well be auguries in there too somewhere... but I can't hear it, and neither can the HMHB Lyrics Project site.
Whichever/whatever it's a great song. But there it's HMHB, their songs always are.

Aviaries on lines 1 and 2. Auguries on 3 and 4. Everyone wins. Seriously it is.

A good music video doesn't just show pictures of the words.

"Bin Men, Bin Men, Lexicographers" lyrics of genius that you'd never hear anywhere else. Top job on the video......

strange, it makes me wince, but I think it's the very, very, very poor sound they achieve
MickeyLove01 3 years ago
Well thats your opinion. Though Im quite intrigued as to how you found such an obscure video without actually wanting to listen to it.

I buy all my music and download nothing. I have heard this band many times and seen them live. This is one of their better songs.

99.9% sure it should be "them's the auguries" at the end. Still a great vid, tho. Thanks 4 sharing :o)
Sera696969 3 years ago
Yeah, I know. Easier to find picturs of aviaries though.

I think you're right, mate - it is "aviaries". Check out 'The Half Man Half Biscuit Lyrics Project' chrisrand[dot]com[slash]hmhb <-- Brilliant site.
Love the vid too, btw. I LOL'd. :)

@STUARTSt321 I think that logic is in keeping with the spirit of HMHB
