  • 4.0 а не 4.6!!!

  • is there a place wherre i can buy one all ready to swap in

  • @MrINVADER727 ATK motors, and most engine places can do this for you.

  • @TeXJ2424 alright thanks

  • Great looking Cherokee. Very tastefully done....NICE!

  • Now... THERES A JEEP!!! Color, lift, tire, motor, flare, bumper, all perfect!!

  • how much is it lifted?

  • haha!! I just looked at your specs!! awesome!! but the hp doesnt addup. you must have put a 2.5 inch tailpipe on?? those transfer cases blow up.

  • wrong number, its like 03230 I think. look it up and check!

  • my tips for you: 99 is usually the 03130 head casting, a batch of crap metal that always cracks badly.check it frequently. if it goes or if you can do it anyways. buy a head from a 97-98. they have the largest exhaust ports of any years. in 99, smaller exhaust ports created a15 hp loss for emissions. to counter the hp loss, they created the new intake manifold which is a work of art. that manifold with the 93-95 heads or the 97-98 heads makes insane HP and mileage.

  • my xj 4.0 195hp stock

  • Haha I have not check ed on this video in a long time. If anyone wants a hand with building a stroker send me a PM on Jeep Forums. MarineJRM

Oh and I have almost 30k on this build and it is still running great!

  • Nice fender flares.. i have the same ones on mine..

  • nice to see a fellow jeep forum member on youtube!

  • cleanest jeep i ever did see

  • just putting out there if you dynoed it you should have gotten a torque number seeing that horsepower is a calculated number of a measurement of torque to rpm so how much torque is your motor.

  • What sort of mileage are you getting with your current setup?

  • Pretty sweet man. That's a lot of HP and TQ at the wheels considering the drivetrain loss! Don't think a lot of people understand the difference bewteen wheel HP and crank HP

  • Hey bro, I just bought a 93 4.0 high output cherokee for my 16th bday that I was planning on building, problem is, that Im clueless so I need some pointers on where to start, anyone got any tips I need as much help as I can get!?

  • @Thespitfire525 go on naxja, cherokee forum, any of the online websites and research. i bought my first cherokee at 16 also, you can lift it for less than 150$ using junkyard parts, if its a 5 speed get some axles out of an automatic cherokee for the lower gear ratio and slap on some 31's. learn how to weld also, its a great skill to have and you can make cool things like bumpers and rocker guards.. pm me if you want some more pointers

  • @jdeddy11 What will the Lower gear ratio do for me? And I have a two inch lift on right now What would you reccomend for 31's?

  • @Thespitfire525; 31s are fine with stock gears and an automatic.on flat ground it will get awesome mileage if you get the engine power up right. if you live where its mountains or hills, get 3;73s and step up to a 32. always run cherokees with narrow tires. so shoot for 9.5s, and 10.5s. 11.5s and 12.5s will destroy your front end, ride like shit and get super bad mileage. do NOT run 4:56 gears with under 35 inch tire. will run hot and make condensation and is a waste.

  • @Thespitfire525 If I could start over with my jeep I would trim the front fenders to get as much tire clearance as possible while still keeping the Jeep's center of gravity low and saving money on your lift kit. Jp magazine had a how to article on their website for fender trimming. get mud tires of craigslist if you want to save some more cash

  • Very nice result mate, my stroker is a similar build but with 40 thou over and Comp 68-231-4 cam. Ported 0630 head as well with 27# injectors and 68mm throttle body. Original rods with KB IC944 pistons, block zero decked. In a 2001 TJ with 32RH trans. Managed 144hp at the wheels after a unichip install and tune but before the dying trans was rebuilt. No way to measure torque but i think that's where the strength lies. Congratulations on your power output, i am incredibly envious of the figure!

  • []lllll[]

  • very nic rig', that things clean! If you do take it in the woods, you sure do take care of it. Thats what i like too see. HOORAA.

  • looks like a mall crawler

  • that aint a jeep i dont hear any knocking from the motor, those 4.0s are a loud motor

  • @danraich No, the stock 4.0 had more power at the crank than that, but honestly, the stock engine only puts around 97 horsepower to the wheels. Stroking it doubled that, and the torque is likely nudging 345lb/ft at the crank, maybe 260 to the wheels. There's no way to be sure because he didn't post it, but this engine is far more powerful than stock. And the stock engine is already an awesome. Great build man.

  • @40ashort a stock 4.0l high output after 1991 puts out around 145rwhp. its rated at 190 bhp. thats in good shape with proper maintenance and good compression. this is just what i've read on most jeep forums from people who have dyno'd their jeeps i've never actually dyno'd mine.

  • @icantellfakefromreal Agreed. Still, it's definitely above stock outputs. Love it. Can't wait til I can do that to my XJ!

  • Comment removed

  • torque?

  • cold air intake looks farmilar...

  • I just built a nearly identical stroker. I will get it started tomorrow. Is a tune a must?

  • That is a lot of money just for 180 hp.

  • Impressive

  • is that a custom bumper?

  • Any suggestions on how to get more power from my 93 xj

    Without spending alot

    Less than 800$

  • @satchboogyfan k&n flowmaster headers run it on premium and adjust the timing

  • Well done on the XJ. Let me borrow it for a week???

  • this jeep is amazing, i need to get alot of work done on my 88 jeep, loving the wheels and I'm thinking of also boring it out to a 4.7

  • @HaroDeron i dont know if this one was bored... but alot of people bore .40 over, and then use a crank out of an old 4.2 litre... its bigger and increases the total *stroke*... if you wanna see.. trucks! did a few episodes on what they called cheep cherokee.. only cost them around 2500 total.. i can send you a link to the videos if you want

  • @Bluesypunkrocker1 yeah that'd be great if you could! I was thinking of dropping a 258 crank in it but I'd like to see what you're talking about

  • That is a bad to the bone XJ, too bad it's spit shined clean and not covered in mud.... Love to see what it'd do offroad in the rocks. Two thumbs though JRM.

  • What tune did you use? SCT? i have a jeep and need to tune the cpu and cant find any real tuners for it?

  • Be a man and lay your dick on the roller in front of that spinning tire.

  • pretty mean jeep

  • what are the torque figures? I'd guess around 300 at the crank given the I6's history of big torque.

  • That is the RWHP. With 33 inch tires and 4.56 gears with the AW4 trans soaking up a ton of power along with the transfer case as well. At the fly wheel this engine is putting out over 270Hp.

  • @MarineJRM Hello, I am trying to find a custom tuner such as SCT or Diablo for a customers 03 Wrangler with no luck so far only 05 and above. How do you tune your 99 Cherokee with SCT software, the Wrangler is completely done minus a tune I'm in limbo at this point. Info would be greatly appreciated!

  • just curious, but you made 184 hp with a stroker? I thought the 4.0l came with like 190 hp stock.... I understand engine wear and what not, but I would figured it would pull more than that..

  • @m1brett Stock I6's would run about 190HP, but thats just the engine, thats not 190HP to the wheels. You loss alot of power throughout the drivetrain. That stroker is rated at around 260HP (just the engine) These guys are testing HP and Torque at the wheels, they arent testing the engines on stands

  • should i try to trade my 2000 xj for a 1991 xj 4.6 stroker ?

  • @bigdog813 no but it is all by opinon... I love the styling of my 01 xj vs the pre-97 cherokees.. Id just buy a stroker kit or motor if u have the money, and throw it in ur xj then part out whatever you end up with... just my 2c tho if you wanna go to the older style then its ur call...
