Good job. Should be Gan Sau before Man Sau. Would be even better if it can show the fists instead of the palms when the hands' back to the chest. It's not bad overall.
Wing Chun is the most mis-interpreted art. If you guys wanna know more, read the blog on my profile. In Wing Chun, there's neither deliberation of centerline nor triangle. The punch that is aligned to center before launch out is incorrect. Because it displace alignment from neck, shoulders, back, spine & calves. Many practitioners who do the 'corrupted system' would've tensions along those areas. A proper Wing Chun, should be no difference from Taichi and other martial art. It's natural.
I don't criticize the details of this performed form being different from other styles of Wing Chun, but it has left out the straight punches which are the last manoeuvers of it. Hope the author adds that ! No offence ! Thank you !
@washingzoo1 It says why in the video description: Hand motions are ignored. This is likely due to the master who Mo-Capped this, didn't have sensors on his fingers and knuckles, which would be needed to show the subtle hand movements. Also some schools vary in their execution of forms. It may be very likely that on school actually favors open hand strikes in most if not all cases. (Although I doubt that this is the case in this particular video)
@berg89dk I don't mind the missing of some manoeuvers, although the subtle finger and palm movements are also the essence of this system. We have to be thoughtful about this animation. It seems like robot playing gungfu. It gives just the contour of the style. All of us may not demand striclty demand 100% exactitude. Thanks any how !
ALL OF THEM ARE DOING THE BIU JEE FORM FROM VING TSUN, NOT FROM WING CHUN. CHEK THIS AND YOU' LL UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM SAYING :watch?v=-lH32iMe0Cw&feature=related
Dude, do you know who the guy in your link is? Maybe you're new to the Wing Chun scene & simply haven't heard what that guy's deal is; here's the short version:
William Cheung is a con-man. He made up all that stuff himself. He's one of those guys that took a couple years of lessons, made up what he never learned, and just declared himself a master of a secret system nobody had ever seen before.
If you want to see REAL Wing Chun, well, it's in those links I sent you.
Whoever that "sifu" was, that's a terrible form, many moves are missing, there's no jun ma on the fat sau, the pai sau jun sun pek sau is incorrect, and there shouldn't be a pause between the 3 pai sau, the chum huan dai jao tin is missing and so is the chun sau.
Nice animation, maybe I'll make one some time.
Then again, considering the countless sacrifices and years of eating shit it took to learn, I suppose I won't be giving that away indiscriminately for free to any tom dick or harry.
C'mon man. Just 'cause it's not EXACTLY like how you were shown doesn't mean it's "wrong". Every WC instructor makes a few little changes here & there. For example look at the footage of Ip Man's forms & compare 'em to Wong Shun Leung's. There's no doubt Wong learned WC from Ip Man, & there's no question Wong was a bona fide Master. There's a few litttle differences. Same with Ip Ching or Chu Shong Tin. The important thing is knowing what the changes are & why they were made.
this is really great, this and the swords. it's been a long time since i've done this. its very hard to find a demonstration that matches the lineage i was taught. well done
nice bit of animation, this looks different from the form that i do-in our form (ip man linage-sifu paul oneil)we bow to buddha at the end ,but all the same thats pretty cool
it says on the video description that hand action ignored, so the hands stay the same all the way through, why dont you read before you ask stupid questions.
So it's not perfect Biu Jee demonstration then. That's because I learnt Biu Jee back in the early 80's in HK & it seems a bit different here. BTW, I am GM Ip Man's grandstudent, that's why I had the questions. I think it's better to show the whole picture than part of it to avoid confusions. I wouldn't mind the way you talk 'cause I can tell what kind of person by your name. Thanx.
Basically, this vid is not perfect but it's not bad.
thanks you ! i need something like this as a first steps.

THIS IS NOT THE BIU JEE FORM FROM THE REAL WING CHUN. THIS IS FROM VING TSUN.YOU SHOULD CORRECT YOUR TITLE MAN!

@ajohnnny
What are you talking about?
Here's Wong Shun Leung doing Biu Jee: watch?v=6yBYx5VETZw
Here's Ip Ching: watch?v=fZLGm9xch44
Here's Chun Shong Tin: watch?v=cjtzdNkkfqY
There's a few little differences, but they're all doing basically the same form as this animation, & these 3 guys were all trained by Ip Man.

I applaud the effort. Clearly it's not master-level, too many details need to be refined however it's a great effort!
As to giving it away, I happily do so with my 50 VT videos on youtube and will post more.

Just 3D Max. The essence is not the software but the motion captured from a real sifu :)

Very nice form. Shouldn't you say the performer esp. if he is a Sifu?

was this mocapped??
Pika817 2 years ago
yes, it was mocapped from a master. It's simply not possible to keyframe those subtle motions, especially wing chun.
