@PersonOfBook Sometimes it could be that your consuming too many carbohydrates at night or in the evening, but that's not always the case. I'm sure you've tried many different things as I have. You could try a product called L-tyrosine which is supposed to be good for neurotransmitter support.

14 recordings? That was very persistant! Well done for keeping trying. There are so many varying styles of self hypnosis and NLP recordings that can help cure insomnia. If you are using recordings to cure insomnia the main rule is to keep listening even though there may not be any immediate difference. But if you don't like a certain recording at all, send it back, get your money back and find another from somewhere else. Just keep trying until you find one that works for you.

Actually I dont mind whose website people visit to get help with insomnia, as I say below, find a hypnotherapist local to you (someone with experience deaing with this) and/or get money-back guarantee hypnosis recordings (try a bunch from different places) because either approach may well help you.
People with insomnia do want to sleep, and usually adjust their diet to eat sensibly. It's just that they often worry about insomnia (understandably). The worry helps to drive the 'insomnia loop'. There are loads of good self hypnosis recordings to help with this. All the good ones offer money back guarantees so if there isnt someone local to help, order a bunch of CDs or MP3s, and listen to them at bedtime. Be persistant though, this kind of cure for IBS is usually not immediate. Best Wishes.
I agree, Binaural Beats are really interesting, as is the 'field' of hemispheric sychnonisation that is promoted by the Monroe Institute and others. I am sure this kind of thing could be used to promote better sleep. What also really interests me is how the mind unwittingly creates and maintains these things we call 'problems' such as insomnia, and how to 'train' someone to create something better - in this case, a good night's sleep. My previous comment should read 'cure for insomina', not IBS!
Yeah, I haven't really tried Holo Sync, or Hemi Sync, I usually just create my own, I did try one from a program called I-Doser, which I don't think does EXACTLY what it says, but to my amazement the "Insomniac" one, actually works very good!.
