  • This speech is so powerful !

  • I see a lot of comments regarding Malcolm that state that he segregated his following by not allowing 'whites' to participate in his ministry. What you are speaking on is the time before he went to Mecca and was being told by the Muslim leaders that 'whites' could not be helped because they were unable to accept Islam because they were evil. Please stop posting fallacies that only contribute to the notion that Malcolm was an indigent militant.

  • Malcolm was a wise man. the 1st 5 mins of this speech are very wise, sadly only a few really understand what he said and why he said it..... it's still relevent today, more than ever

  • Idk if yall don't get it but he speaks black because we were water hosed, hung, shot unjustly, given unfair trails. He's not tainted in his words you were not there to experience his life. You know his father was murdered by a white man. He speaks for those oppressed and close to him and he had all rights to. But nowadays the problem is on everyone but blacks still suffer the most and those are facts. American nightmare is our dreams still. Look up the numbers of unemployment!

  • It's sad that we are have the same problems now that we had then. Let's really swing

  • Comment removed

  • This speech impacted me so much because I can say the same things RIGHT NOW!

  • My personal Idol too=)A great Speaker and you know how he was talking,so wonderful

for e.g "My Religion is my personal Business"what a great Man.

  • To be honest, Malcolm x is an idol to me, I'm not black, I'm Mexican-argentine, but like Malcolm, I am human, and he was so right, peaceful demonstrations help fix the system, for some time, but a militant revolution, and armed struggle, destroys the system, and now so many years later, the peaceful demonstration was the one that worked, and look at how the black community is living.

  • I think the american people are finally waking up again and realizing that our government does not have our best interest in mind and only helps the Special Interest Group and tries to gain more control over the population. It is time for a new revolution of the mind and its time to vote people who might actually help everyone equally and who believes in the constitution and the rule of law.... Ron Paul 2012 !!! im tired of being a chump

  • @FuegoAkaFire Ron Paul is as capitalist as they come. Capitalists do not stand for the people; they oppress the people.

  • @cwalto10 Capitalists do not oppress people, corporatists do.

  • Comment removed

  • @DrNoBias

But corporate moguls are products of capitalism. Free Market allows monopoly holding industries to exist, to wipe out the competition of smaller companies and gain profit from the exploitation of the poor without interference from the state. That's real capitalism. So no, not all capitalists oppress people because not all are in the position to. But capitalism has oppressed, is oppressing and will always oppress people at home and abroad.

  • @NSnake91 You can't have Capitalism without oppression. As a capitalist, your main goal is to maximize profits. How do you do this? Get the cheapest labor as possible. How do you keep your workers from complaining? You promote racism to divide them.

  • "This one for our leaders...Leaders...Lets all take a bow" Malcolm is the man!!!

  • can someone tell me exactly why whites dont like it when their racist ideas, racist mentality, methods, history are openly revealed and discreted by those whom they subjcted to such evil practises

  • Hopefully these new movements that are rising to fight for social justice and to stop the economic and civil liberty rape of this country can avoid the divisive, power draining effect of racism. Classism is the threat of the day. Color isn't shit. A persons moral character is what matters.

I see hints of the controlled media programming blacks for racism; something I don't ever recall seeing before. This type of programming is such a blatantly obvious divide and conquer tactic.

  • Malcom was a brilliant and fervent rallyer of people. Fearless. After listening to this speech though, I have to say he is more racist than I was aware of. His movement was almost certainly severely weakened by widely categorizing all whites as perpetrators of black oppression. A nationalist movement that labels others the enemy based on their skin color of course has a big CIA hit crosshairs on it. A united force of blacks and whites attacking the rigged system would be unstoppable.

  • @KurtG85 Considering the blatant racism and violence directed against African-Americans at the time his rhetoric in this speech (that you perceive as racist) is understandable. Also you said he had CIA crosshairs on him because he labeled whites the enemy, wrong, he had crosshairs on him because he was a threat to the political, economic, and social power structure.

  • @glong86 Ya I was going to say that the rhetoric is understandable given the levels of extreme, cold hearted racism blacks were suffering during the time period (compared to today). Maybe a militant attitude was the only way to rally the people to rise up from the level of oppression at the time.

My point is that the movement was weakened by falling prey to the hate that hate made. When you advocate a people being untrustworthy based on their skin color, you are displaying dangerous logic.

  • @glong86 A dangerous logic which essentially mirrors the pre-judgment blacks were subjected to by whites. Hate isolated the movement from the millions of good hearted white people out there who, if you kept your heart (and rhetoric) open and welcoming to them, would lend enormous strength to the cause not only through strength of numbers but through a willingness to sabotage and thwart racist systems of power (which they are in a better position to do because the system already favors them).

  • @glong86 You are probably right why he had CIA crosshairs on him. Again at the risk of repeating myself I will say that I personally believe Malcom's righeteous and justified contempt for the racist power structure would have had an even more powerfull following if he kept his rhetoric open to all good hearted people. He was a powerfull intellectual but I think the hate he was victim to corrupted his heart a bit in this regard. He is still a legendary role model in all other respects IMO.

  • @glong86 Nowdays it seems our entire culture as a whole is under attack, black, white, whatever. Our society is being morally debased into ideals of vanity, greed, uninhibited promiscuity, etc. Its more important than ever for people to see that the only way they will be free from tyrannical rule is for them to unite as a whole and not be divided and conquered by the manufactured culture and economic systems.

  • @KurtG85 Cont'd from previous - Government actions against Malcolm X and counter-intelligence operations against the the non-violent civil rights movement has led me to believe that for some strange twisted reason Black upward mobility is seen as a threat by the major institutions that dominate American life.

  • @glong86 I agree that there is still racism coded into the system against blacks. I don't have a very wide perspective other than from pop culture and our black president but it seems to me black culture is headed in a more positive direction than it was in the 90's and 00's (corporate manufactured gangster rap, unrealistic goals for acheiving wealth, women etc.).

Yet at the same time there always seems to be some manner of cultural ploy to keep whites and blacks divided.

  • @KurtG85 He wasn't racist in this speech, he was speaking the truth that history loves to leave out.

  • @waltsworld1 He was rightfully indignant at the hateful oppression of blacks which was still extremely prevalent during his time. Theres no moral, intellectual, or spiritual justification for hatred however. Just because you are a victim of hate doesn't justify an equal and opposite hatefull stance. Hate doesn't overcome hate, it just leads to even more intense hate. History is indeed his-story.

  • @waltsworld1 The mans message of unity wasn't lost on me just because he at times was a victim of the hate that hate made. My only point was that his movement would've been even more empowering if he didn't isolate all the non-racist white people out there with hate tinged divisive speech. Given the cultural context of the time I can understand the basis for his rhetoric. These disagreements are trivial and diminishing of his legacy though. Malcom X represented taking a stand for justice.

  • @KurtG85

no, he was absolutely right in doing so. genuine white people should work to change the hearts and minds of those who create and carry out the global policies against people of color that make men like Malcolm and movements like Malcom's necessary.

  • @CoryMack1975 He was absolutely right in doing what?

  • @MamiRicaaa let me ask you a question, it's been 47 years I think since Malcolm x was asassinated. Why haven't black people progressed in the united states?

  • as i listen,as i read comments, i can see that ppl just dont understand the power in this man,his words.....I feel like somebody needs to do now what he tried to do then.

  • One of the most powerful speeches ever. This man can shake a frame to a house with his word, why we havent yet acted on fulfilling freedom( no race, but class) is beyond my mind. We are slave to the same system almost 50 yrs later. Bafoonary. We need action, and with time.... I'll cast the first stone!

  • 4923 no more days like those peace to Mr Malcolm X thank you

    once you change your thought pattern you change your attitude;

once you change your attitude it changes your behavior pattern

  • I don't know if it's an African-American audience thing, but this particular audience was clapping too much..

I wonder how much shorter this speech would've been if they didn't interrupt him so often.

  • LoL @ bLacks controLLing anything

AMAZING!! i want this speech to be heard around the world today .. this is the path we as a black nation we need to walk down... ppl who r not black want us to be rapper's, athletes, want us to think its all about the benjamins.. No!! we must wake up! we shouldnt want to be in america! but SHIT!! we built this country,, why leave now, its our's!! we will inherit it, after we prosecute & covict thoes who have stolen it from us!!

  • @kiesalnajar i agree, & ur right! its not a black or white thing,, pardon me by me saying ''ppl who are not black'' or ''we as a black nation'' comments,, i strongly agree with your understanding that we shou;d make a move not watching & standing.. there are so many moves being made, some for the better of all, and some are not.. must wisely pic our spot's...

  • Amazing how much sense he makes even now.

  • What a breathtaking Man. Thank you Al-Hajj Malik El Shabazz.

  • i was waiting for immortal techniques beat to kick in...:[

  • @TheVinnyKG Every time I hear the beginning of this speech (which I've listened to at least 10 times now, front to back) I think of that song, Only Immortal Technique could pull off a song with Malcolm X tied into it.

  • Wow and black people are more blinded and confused than ever. Not only are blacks still marching they still voting. The president is selected not elected.

  • @katimere2 U Got Alot Of Nerve 2 Call People "Blinded & Confused"...Because Your The 1 That Believes In A Book That Has A Talking Donkey In It...U Actually Believe Thaty A Donkey Once Talked And U Still Think U Can Call Somebody Else "Blind & Confused"? U Call People Names & Speak Against People Trying 2 Attack The Political System Thats Out 2 Murder Them.Because U Have A Better Plan,Which Is 2 Wait 4 An Alien From Outer Space 2 Come In A Spaceship 2 Save U Right?.Lmaoooo! Look In The Mirror!

  • @MrHead1972 U Got Alot Of Nerve You believe in this system. Ist of all America claims it is a god fearing country whos laws are based upon the bible. America does everything contrary to the bible. No usury TAXES. A man should get paid his wages before the sun goes down. The land is supposed to be farmed for 6 years and allowed to rest the 7th year. The list goes on and on but I bet you believe in DEMOCRACY silly rabbit.

  • @MrHead1972 @MrHead1972 Based off of the way you write, Katimere2's point still stands. Next time when you try to make a point, use some grammar and intellect. Don't come on here and sully this brilliant speech with your childish ways of writing. Your stupidity is proven every time you take the time to capitalize every word and use numbers in the stead of words. Have I nice day :)

  • @NikkiAnn47 Uh Oh! The Ole Grammar Police..Who Was Offended At My Comment, But Could Not Refute,And Has Been Reduced To Nitpicking. Ya Know What?..I Take Pride Each & Every Time I Get That From One Of Yall. And WHO THE FUCK Are You To Tell Me Whos Page I Can Come On, Bicth? Why Dont You Make A Video Before You Try To Tell Somebody Where & How They Can And Cant Post. STFU! And You Have A Nice Day Too!

  • Don was here. getting me sum history

  • at 36:00+, I was hearing some sped-up background noise...any way to filter it out?

  • Comment removed

  • i really stoped this speach, at 3:43 sec b/c... i wanted to soak it all in... i dont think people understand me sometimes because i've always felt the same way, i have never seen this before, and i had no one every teach me about religion in life based on any other thing they believed in other than what they want you to believe in... kinda a mixed statement, but yet thats my truth...

  • How is it possible that this man could have said this yesterday and it would still be relevant?

  • A speech from 1964 still relevant 2011! sad...

  • @McShiyah You ain't lying!!!!!!!!!! very sad! and people think our struggle is over, But when compared to ish back then.... most things are still the same, Minus the attack dogs, white sheets and burning crosses!

  • where can i download this ?

  • 22 years old and this speech got me feelin lik im in the 60's

  • This speech was delivered in 1964 and this is the 1,964th comment on this video.

  • Ballot or Bullet > I Have A Dream

  • LOL!!! Singing and start swinging! I like dat.

  • man knows how to communicate, very few do nowaday,,nowadays they impose

  • Malcolm X is one of the greatest men to ever live.

I listen to this speech at least twice a week.

  • VERY STRONG WORDS.....CHECK OUT MY MELODIES

  • christianty is controlled by white eurpeans and ziontist that why there so many bibles that written.Cuz there words are not from god but so called scholars. There are racist christians in the world.Muslims cnt be racist becuz its a religon of all people.plus its only one quarn,Its like 15 bibles.

  • I think King's speech was much more compelling. Malcom X didn't really seem like he prepared this all too well.

  • @dvdlinehan why do u say that? the only speech people seem to remember is "ihaveadream" it was a feel good speech. Malcolm is talking about ways black people in their community should progress without having a check make of approval from white america. He speaks of building institution for our selfs in our homes. If they wont provide health care and education(whichisthebasicneed) black people should for themselves.

  • @AfroSunGoddess He stuttered on his words a lot, and said "umm" too much to compel me personally, although I imagine if I was a black man in this time, I would probably agree with much of this. His saying of "some dead man named Lincoln" 20:30 the very man who fought hardest to dissolve slavery, promotes very much ignorance, however.

  • @dvdlinehan most of MIcheel King's speechs were pre-written and plagerized, look it up.

  • @MamiRicaaaa Michael* sorry.

  • @MamiRicaaaa Martin Luther, not Micheel... Who is Micheel anyway?

  • @dvdlinehan NO Its Michael King. Michael King is Martin Luther King Jr.... MICHAEL, sorry for my human error typo. SMH ppl believe everything from school huh? lol. The son of Daddy King.

  • Thanks for posting this. Its hard to find Malcolm's FULL speeches on youtube.

  • A smart man who's words are very strong.

  • anyone else notice the chipmunks in the background? crazy ,how Knowledgeable he was back then Peace

  • well, it is time for our brothers and sisters to stand up.... instead of doing what society expect us to do... stop talking and start walking...... be the proud black people we can be.. instead of this uneducated, foolish, and unmotivated.... people... the time is now......

  • All of this arguing of who is right, or wrong is baffling. If we focus on living vs talking it, we become effective. I am a Christian; and that is my stand on the issue.

  • I love him! this man is like a father that i never had and i dont care what anyone say about malcolm. He is my number 1 role model!

  • HOW COME WE DIDNT HEAR THIS IN HIGH SCHOOL ????

  • @jmerri40

NORTH AMERIKKA DONT WANT YOU 2KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT YOURSELF

  • The greatest public speaker of all time.

Read the book....Malcolm X......A life of reinvention.

  • i agree with everything's, but what about the natives who suffered colonizations as well, over 100 million dead.

  • @slayerguitar what about them? Can u talk about one and still see the other or U only can handle one concept at a time??

  • Only over 500,000 instead of over 5 million.

  • In today's terms, it means that you should do the crying in the courts and not after you made an ass of urself trying to fightback; that way the wrongdoers get maximum punishment and judges sympathies towards you.

  • Simply my Inspiration<3

  • 44 people are some racist fags.

  • @GreenTigerHD wow, you have homophobic speech in your response and you think you have the moral ground to bitch?

  • our community was stronger 50 years ago, racism was law of the land back then, but atleast we were togather

  • @blackimpressions Do you think that was because of the fact that oppression was so blatant back then? Now, that it's subtle we have become relaxed? Also, if racism isn't as rampant as it was back then how will we ever heal if we don't trust others races and realize that we are all of one race (the human race)? Isn't that what the goal is for humankind? Or are we really so separate that either they are the chosen race or we are and the other opposing race is of unnatural creation?

  • @girraud I get what your saying, but, you do realize that there is a cult hovering around YT among black people who are into IR, there is a I hate you attitude and i'm never dating you again lunitic spctrum here.and that is the core of my frustation, not so much IR that dont really bother me, I see it every day.NOT SAYING I DON'T LIKE IT, if I see a beautiful black girl with a non black man I feel a little disapointment. you have to love your group first before you can love out side groups.

  • @girraud love yourself first, tehn u can ove yr family, your culture yr city, your country. .

  • I dont know what the hell i'm doing, I feel like i'm fighting a losing battle that the race that I was born out of cares nothig for its self black people on YT are filled with insecuritie, and self loathiness, self hate, anger for each other, and other mis placed emotions, why should I be proud of a group of people like this, it's weakness, thay feel hopeless and now i'm starting to, but not enough to run to the arms of aryan women and asiatic women like black people on YT are.

  • There are more interacial relation ship videos up than black love videos there are more bw/am or bw/wm and bm/ww videos up than black love videos, THAY think that marrying out the race is some how improvement there are thousands of these videos up on YT and there is an agenda behind it, THAY, black men and black women hate each other, thay hate each other so much that thay are willing to destroy the black race all togather.that is their goal that is their mission, just litsen to them talk

  • @blackimpressions that is the truth.... i like the way you think. i love everyone, but i love myself, my race more.. like james brown.i say it loud. im black im proud

  • I love looking at this, I can look at this over and over again it gives me some sense of pride, right now i'm not feeling so good about it, there is alot of problems in the black community that is conserning but the black community onYT is the worse, thay take every bit of black social pride i have in me and crap on it, I don't feel so proud with this new generation of black people thay have no sense of pride respect or honor, thay are an insult , an insult to our heritage. and community.

  • @blackimpressions Have you seen the video of the shooting on the Philadelphia public service bus in which black boys shot up a bus carrying black people just because a passenger told another passenger (their relative) that he will call child support because she was disciplining her child too abrasively? It's really sad. If we don't take violence/drugs/gangs out of our community I don't see how we'll improve.

  • what happened to all the Black and Latin leaders?? doesnt anybody strive for that anymore????

  • Amazing leader!

  • @CentralScrutinizerxx That has nothing to do with this. He was killed by the white-man. The white-man funded the assassination, we all know this.

The enemy is the white-man and will always BE the white-man, look at the bombings in Libya, look at the random killings in middle east, look at the random killings in the US each week now, I mean come on. You yourself, deep down know it too, something is up with your race, maybe not YOU, but 95% of your race wants us all dead, so fuck THEM too.

  • Superb speach and an excellent spaker......

  • @CentralScrutinizerxx You are a fucking retard enough said get your facts straight.

  • Malcolm was killed by the FBI and the government The government framed the black muslims that were there. Its a conspiracy just like everything else the government does.

  • @CentralScrutinizerxx you dont have to accept him as your prophet he is our prophet..our african prophet

  • @AFRICA4AFRICANS He said in the beginning of the speech he's religion govern his personal Morals keep it in the closest it was about Lifting Black people up around that time Race Relations was horrible his strength came from the movement and he touched on the Political System in America which we know now, has been corrupt for a Long time .

  • @recount09 I DONT GIVE DAMMM ISLAM IS NOT NEVER WAS THE BLACK MAN RELIGION

CHRISTIANTY AND ISLAM THOU SHALL NOT KILL(RELIGION)

  • Was Malcolm X still in the Nation of Islam at the time he made this speech?

  • @GoldRing09 On Dec. 4, 1963 he was suspended from the Nation of Islam. In March of 1964 he left the Nation of Islam, and started the Muslim Mosque, Inc. One month later he gave this speech that is heard on this page. For more information, google Malcolm X timeline

  • @TheJaredWilcurt

    Thank you.

  • @GoldRing09 NO

  • @GoldRing09 No he was came from Mecca , He was created his own organisation

  • MALCOLM WAS ONE OF OUR PROPHETS.....NOT A EUROPEAN JESUS OR A ARAB MOHAMMED...

AND IF MALCOLM KNEW AT THAT TIME THE TRUE HISTORY OF ISLAM HE WOULD HAVE DROP IT LONG AGO!!!

THAT IT WAS ISLAM THAT STARTED THE AFRICAN SLAVE TRADE TEAM UP WITH THE EUROPEANS AND WRECK AFRICA TO ITS CORE!!

AS MALCOLM WAS GIVING THIS SPEECH ISLAM WAS SELLING AND CUTTING OFF THE BALLS OF BLACKMEN...CUTTING THE BREAST OF OUR BLACKWOMEN SO THEY CANT FEED THEIR NEW BORNS

    OUR PROPHET MALCOLM!!!..I LOVE YOU

  • you can change Black Nationalism with Human Universalism, and everything updates nicely to today.

  • this speech can resonate with any human being RIGHT now. if u replace black or negro from his speech and replace it with middle class and lower class its like this speech was given yesterday.

  • One of the greatest speeches of ALL-TIME!! Thank you my brother Malcolm, FUCK OUR ENEMY!!

  • Thanks for uploading this JaredWilcurt, Malcolm X is my mentor!

  • All respects to Malcolm X

  • R.I.P Malcolm X <3

  • was it simply because he was the President and people like to complain about politics, or did Malcolm X just like to complain about things?

  • 32:10..... why does he start bashing the President? The President at that time was LBJ.... didn't LBJ announce that as President he was going to continue what JFK had started, and wasn't LBJ the one who eventually signed the civil rights bill? I'm 24 so I don't know what the different subcultures (black, white, women, rich/poor, etc) felt about LBJ at that time, but seems to me that LBJ and the blacks were on the same side.... did Malcolm X just not like LBJ because he was white or (continued)

  • @follownicholas i think you read the version of history written by conformist instinctual prostitutes that make certain people in power look better then they actually were. JFK Wilson LBJ bush Obama Reagan all the same

  • @fallenempireoverdrve I completely disagree with that, not only are they not all the same but that's also completely unrelated to the question I was asking about LBJ and Malcolm X.

  • @follownicholas LBJ was prejudice as Hell he called he's driver nigger all his Life and told him to get use to it SMH he did it for political reasons , money reasons I will try to give you the link to this story if your page exist .

  • Wow, never realized how wrong some of his ideas about how the world work are. Nationalism is the divider of humans not what makes them live in harmony. Also, America is more colonial than the UK or France? ask India about that Malcom. Bayard Rustin was the wise man of the Civil rights movement, not this hot headed Islamic rhetorician.

  • Wish I could "like" this more than once.-

  • the X-Man

  • You idiots who say MLK was soft are full of fucking shit. He was becoming more radical towards the end of his lifetime and Malcolm X was becoming much more moderate (or in your words 'soft') towards the end of his. So please, stop trivializing these men's lives simply because they do not fit your image of a freedom fighter. These men gave their LIVES for us.

  • @ElTantaran86 i understand where u comin from dogg but dont ever even put the word soft in a sentence with malcolm x

  • Now i see why there isnt a Malcolm X Day, This Mans work in the 1960s still has the power to wake up todays entire generation.

  • Respect yo.

    Malcom X > Luther King

Not because Malcom's teachings were better, but they were effective.

    Look at King:

    Still plenty of racism.

    Whereas X:

White people are scared of blacks.

  • lol claps after every 2 seconds

  • POWERFUL... FUCKING POWERFUL!!!!!!

  • @s9670 I know what you mean...This speech is what ALL black people need to listen to, this should be a fact.

  • How can people say their skin is black or that their skin is white? Did people completely miss out on learning their colors as a child? Belief in the white nonwhite paradox is one major way we accept lies about our selves and others. With our mouths we contradict our eyes and our minds.
