well i live here actually just right up the road and we looked like katrina it was the worst feeling ever being stuck with water all around no place to go 3.5 hrs to get across 1 bridge that was open cars stalling in the water people swimming on the bridge seeing the train bridge fall apart
All you Bush haters... I would like to let you know: Barack Obama has not put $1 towards helping the ongoing recovery. What another great president eh?
you know what, Iowans are the best because thats where baseball is the greatest and im talkin high school and if you took any random person from iowa they would tell you everything about baseball
We live only 2 blocks south of the railroad bridge. We heard it break and then heard the pieces smack into the 11th street bridge 2 blocks south of us. It was a nightmare! We had never seen the water so high! So much worse than the floods of 1993!
i live in waterloo/cedar falls. that flood was bad. would have been neater to get the train bridge floating away. in CF they had a train on top of our bridge so it wouldnt get washed away. sad sad stuff to see.. 2 years later things are finally gettin back to normal
I'm from Waterloo, but no longer live there. Its sad to see the devastation state wide especially in Cedar Rapids. George Bush and his administration don't give a shit about Iowa. If he did he would have cut his European trip short and would have been in Cedar Rapids. Another mess he'll ignore
I live in Texas now. Waterloo is my hometown. My brothers and I played and fished off the railroad bridge. Sorry for the loss. George Bush is a great president and does care about Iowans.
I am also from Waterloo, but no longer live in Iowa. I am sad to see this happen to my home state. However, I don't agree with you about president Bush. He is the worst. president.ever.! In fact he should have cut his European trip short and been here observing all this devastation. Cedar Rapids looked like New Orleans after Katrina...flood wise. George Bush and his administration SUCKS!
Amazing video...esp that it covers several areas. This is my hometown. I'm in Washington state. My brother is there with 4 to 5 feet of water in his home. Last I spoke to him it was raining again. Hope the rain stops soon and the flooding subsides!
Wow...that's cool that we're both from W'loo and here in WA. I'm in Spokane; where are you?
My bro's water levels have gone WAY down so things are looking up! Hopefully they'll start drying out now! Iowa's really been getting nailed--all of the midwest. Enough is enough! :/

Astounding flooding! It seems like in some areas, huge areas of water are held back by the slightest of barriers.

All that water...it's to bad flood states can't build some kind of small canals that lead here to Nevada we sure could use that water..

Theres altot of flooding in the Des Moines area right now in Iowa. Chet Culver said that this is a rare event and will mostly happen every 500 years.

I'm in cedar rapids right now, and they're starting to evacuate people that are within like 2 miles of the cedar river.
Honestly, I didn't think that this flood was going to be big, but I was obviously wrong.
