@sonictheparalyzer They breed some specially now and charge a fortune but when I had mine (Wow!, 40 years ago) My Brother had rescued him floating on a piece of wood in a stream.

I kept him as pet from being pretty tiny to a pretty big thing when he died.

Let him out at night and he'd always be curled up asleep in the mornings waiting to come into his box for a warmer sleep.

Of course he did'nt hibernate until later with being warmer inside the house (Well I assumed it was that)

@TheMJcreations They eat vegies such as carrots celery, Almost any vegie. But I dont really recommend lemons. Or any sour fruits. A little poultry but not much just enough so your hedgehog has a good protein intake.

MESSAGE TO EVERYONE hedgehogs are not illegal as long as you have a permit the permit is obtain by the breeder but is illgal to just take them out of their habitats but if you but one from a breeder they will give you a special permit that says you are allowed to have one at least thats how i got mine (I got mine from a reptile show were they sell all kinds of animals even SUGAR GLIDERS! :)

It all depends on your state. For me in CA, there is no permit. If an animal is not listed by the Dept of Fish and Game, then it is illegal to own. Most exotic pets are illegal in CA, including hedgies and sugar gliders.
