  • nice job!

  • @Grancie48You forgot wwI WwII the cold war war of 1812 the great deppresion i mean you cant skip from the civil war to the civil rights movement whoever made this needs to go back to school and get there facts straight you cant go around teaching children these lies you may think im a regular person complaing but im really a History Proffesor.

  • @xXDARKNESS9Xx The omission of the post Civil War history was deliberate. It is common, or at least it was in my day, to divide the history of the United States into two parts, pre- and post- Civil War. This rap concentrates only on the time from the founding of the US up to the Civil War. The inclusion of the Civil Rights movement was only to complete the thread of black freedom. It was written for and performed by third graders, not high school students.

  • This is soo coool!!!

  • Lincoln freeing the slaves? Hahaha! Try verse for the 1860s: "Just like in the Revolution, A tyrant came and pulled his guns. The South wished to be left alone, and the new president: he did groan! Oh, Lincoln. Yes, Lincoln. He begged the command of Lee, but the General stayed with ol' Vir-ginny! So sad for all those Confederate States, that their rep is bogged with unjust hate! Yeah Lincoln...tyrant Lincoln! You're welcome.
  • @SouthernerSince79 Ah, yes, the "War of Northern Aggression".

  • The most inaccurit thing ever full of lies just see your foggeting the anglo-amerian war were britian burned washington when the amerricans massaered native amerians the creek wars you just won the ammerican war of inderpendance think of these factors

    numbers

    terrian

    the french

you an not teah chrildren with lies.

  • wow. in all the awkward moments in school, never can I recall feeling as uncomfortable as I do watching this

  • animaniacs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • rap?

  • I hate whoever made this.

  • this is a sing-along kind of melody. Not a rap. There are huge differences.

  • cool

  • Omg, I wish my social studies teacher was like you. Today, we had the social studies TAKS (Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills). I'm in 8th grade, and my social studies teacher literally sits on her ass all day. I have no clue what she does, but whatever shes doing, shes not teaching... There should be waaaay more teachers like you! You're freakin amazin. xD.

  • We should have more teachers like you. Keep it up!

  • Very creative indeed! I'm always excited to see innovative ways of teaching historical accounts! Thumbs up too!

  • Thanx 4 making history so cool! I wish u cud make one for Global (not just American) History

  • Thans for making history so cool. I wish u cud make one for global history and not just American.

  • I see you made several songs for your kids. I think it's great. I wish my teachers did this kind of thing. I only wish you hadn't skipped right from Lincoln to Crow, then the 60's, but it's still good. I'm glad that you mentioned religious freedom. I know nowadays my teachers are trying to convince us that the only reason they came here was to make money. My mom made me read "Of Plymouth Plantation" by William Bradford & anyone that denies that Pilgrims came here for freedom is denying history.

  • I don't know if it's still done, but when I was going to school, US History was divided into two parts, the first going from the beginning to reconstruction and the second from post-reconstruction to present day. This US history basically ends with the freeing of the slaves, but then shifts to cover the slaves continued struggle for equality. That's the reason for the perceived "jump".

  • Ah, Baby Boomer indoctrination... a lap slapping drum circle song where we skip 100 years from reconstruction (lol what's that?) all the way to the 1960's which was the only time worth being alive if you ask these people. It may teach history, but its total Boomer propaganda.

  • I wish I had teachers when I was young that cared this much about teaching me.

  • How nice of you to say so. Thanks.

  • im borrowing this for my english rap thanks

  • no offense, but this scares me...

  • I'm really glad to hear it. Thanks for sharing. Good luck.

  • I find this video annoying as hell!

    BUT...

that just means kids must love it. I think its swell that you're trying to make history more accessible to kids. Creative teaching is always appreciated, no matter how much it much annoy adults - like teletubbies. Although you cannot convince me that teletubbies is educational. 5stars.

  • congratulations!!!!!

  • thaanks im using this for a rap in histry class

  • Great. Let me know how it goes.

  • Thanx!I'm using this for a Civil War project in my Texas History class. This way I don't have to do the rap/song part! Thanx again!!!!! ^-^

  • I'd love to hear how you're using it in your project.

  • They skipped the French and Indian War

  • Thanks for the feedback. Now back to the drawing board......

  • That was tight.Christopher Columbus my homie.

  • This is cool! One thing though- I would love to see this with a bit faster tempo (maybe sing it instead of rap it). Older children would find it more interesting if it were faster. Awesome though!

  • It WOULD be interesting to see what older students would do with this. This was performed by second graders. Thanks for commenting.

  • This video was just amazing xD Good job! I'm sure the kids learned something.

  • They really did. Having the facts in "rap" form definitely helped them remember the material we covered in social studies. I think these second graders ended up knowing more about US History than most adults.

  • 2nd grader should be rapping

  • Did you mean "shouldn't"? If so, why not? There is nothing inappropriate for children in this rap.

  • yes i did thanks for correcting my mistake, and thank you for leeting me steal this rap so i can pass history

  • This was the most retarted thing I have ever seen in my life.

  • Maybe, but all of it was at least spelled correctly. :-)

Seriously, though, I'm sorry you didn't like it. The children learned so much history from this activity.

  • To guillesego:

The US certainly has some shameful moments in its history. Every country has. For example, your Spain had the Inquisition.

However, I don't allow profane comments on my channel, which is intended to be child friendly. Please vent your anger towards Americans elsewhere.

  • You're from Lowell, MA? Like that textile place?
