  • Whoa, take it easy with that piano dude! I'M PLAYING THIS! hahaha Genius! I love him!

  • This was the song I chose to dance with my mother at my wedding. God bless the King of Swing.

  • thank you/ what a great song.

  • Lo maravilloso, nunca muere... este es un ejemplo, me encanta!!

  • Smooth as silk. Like a storyteller...

  • master of clarinet:)

  • wow

  • el mejor clarinetista en su genero PARA MI GUSTO

  • un genio della musica.

  • tassos chalkias nr.1

  • God what a class act and a brilliant musician......

  • Only a short year before his death and could still play better than anyone on earth. He plays in heaven's jazz band now; I'm sure God needed him as the soloist.

  • @emperorpenguin64 What a perfect comment... He was incredible, not matter what your musical preferences might be - it's impossible to not recognize the genius in this playing.

  • @you are soooooo wright!

  • October 7, 1985 @The New York Marriott Marquis Clarinet:Benny Goodman Piano:Dick Hyman Bass:Slam Stewart Drums:Louis Bellson

    ...................Piano:Dick Hyman

  • is that LARRY DAVID playing the piano...no wonder BG was displeased...LOL

  • ES LO MÁS!!!

  • "Memories of You" and the hauntingly beautiful "Goodbye" are my favorites of his. Both Benny and Artie were amazing in there own unique ways.

  • It's too bad the video cuts away at the end of that song...Frank Sinatra himself surprised Benny by coming out and saying something.

  • It seems like you have the video. Can you give me some info about it? I'd LOVE to get a copy. Please help! Thanks.

  • Something appears to be "not right" at the beginning. BG doesn't play the whole piece. It becomes obvious at the end when he looks to the piano player, while holding a particular note, that he wants to end it right there. The rest of the group caught on, but clearly something wasn't right.

  • Incredible performance by a 76 year old maestro!!!!! Thanks for sharing this ! ! !

  • thanksthansthans

  • This really makes me wish I hadn't sold my clarinet. I need to buy it back!!!

  • This would be his last televised concert. Louis Bellson is at the drums, Dick Hyman at the Piano and Slam Stewart, I believe on the bass.

  • my grandpa play this solo in a bigband in 71 age...and very nice too ^^

  • I wish I could do what he did at his age, still awesome throughout his entire life. We should all be so blessed!!!

  • LEGEND!

  • kinda feels like he shot the "RAY" at the piano player a couple times during the piece, especially at the end...haha

    what a master benny was

  • This video showed Mr. Goodman could be very mellow and well as cooking. Jostanos mentioned Mr. Goodman playing the clarinet for the actor Steve Allen. But Steve Allen needed a lot more help. All agree Steve Allen was terrible; the beginning and end of his movie career there. Wonder why during did not recognize error, and find a decent replacement? Love Stealin' Apples, Sheik of Araby, cookin'; Memories of You nice change thanks a lot for it.

  • thank a lot .... merci beaucoup ! ... beaucoup de souvenir sur cet air .

  • I love his music. He's playing with God and other great musicians in heaven.

  • 大好きな彼女の前で吹いてみたい気分になりますね。

  • don't forget this was done less than a year before he died because he died on the 13th june 1986

  • Yeah! Great to see and hear him playing his best tune!

    Thank´s for this clip!

  • It is a great piece and has always been associated with him. His fingers are shaking in this rendition, but it doesn't seem to detract from his past great performances.

  • Thanks for this one. It's my favorite Goodman tune. Also is relevant.

  • Benny Goodman was one of the best and will be missed.

Piece of trivia: Did you know that when they were making the movie about him, Benny Goodman actually palyed the clarinet for the actor portraying him?

  • One of my favorites....I've been waiting for someone to post. I always loved the way Pete Fountain played this too....
