not that graphics are crucial in making a great game, but is it just me or do these graphics actually look worse than the graphics in the original KOTOR game?
@Clipzarn The footage your watching is Alpha Testing footage. Graphics in alpha testing always suck. Try looking at some of my more recent videos with gameplay footage.
It's all about how good it looks when you slice into your buddy's character, severing their arm off. Or how realistic the lightning looks when you zap-fry some infantry

My only problem with this is they restricted different races to certain classes...While I love this game, and intend on playing it, I'll come right out and say it: WoWfail.
I think, if done right, the voice over makes the game a better experience. Look at Dragon Age I and II... DA I has a better story but after you play DA II and go back to DA I you find something missing in DA I... the voiceovers from DA II.

@ragnaroffel Trust me. You will pay attention to the cutscenes. The story in this game is so damn important. 1 tester gave his impressions on a podcast. He was definitely not into RP or story AT ALL, but he was stunned to see the decisions you could make. He wanted to be the biggest douche bag to everyone, acquire as many dark side points as possible. He said 1 of his companions ended up crying on his ship! 24/7!!

You all say OH, AION HAS BETTER GRAPHICS! but really, you're so ignorant that you fail to understand that graphicing is done in different styles. Aion and TOR have nothing alike in that respect. They gave the Sith Inquisitor a dual-lightsaber so more people would be attracted to the Jedi Knight. Imagine the sith inq. with a red single ULTRA-HAMMERING lightsaber... There would be like 5 jedi...
Before fully deciding my main class, I watched the PAX 2009 demo of the Sith Warrior gameplay. And immediately after it was over, I sat back and was like... "huh. Welp, guess I'm gonna play Warrior.."
The guys playing the Warrior and Bounty Hunter were amazing, and seeing all of the abilities played fluently reinforced that decision!
I was upset that we wont get KOTOR 3, but the more I watch the more impressed I am! It is certainly an ambitious undertaking, I hope they can pull it off!
I hate the generic look and feel to it. I really did not like this game when I played it at PAX East. I'll definitely be passing this one up.

i love kotor to death... but my kotor is currently sitting in my closet after the 100th time playing. that only lasted me a bit before i got into other things. Ive played Wow for years because i could do more with it. So i think the mmo stance they are taking is great cause ill be able to now play and have the rpg element that i loved about kotor while having "wow like" things which is always cool.
I really hope they deliver on all their promises. I don't want to try out the new shiny MMO only to find that it's "average" (a boring grind to levelcap and then unengaging end-game content), or unfinished (looking at you Warhammer), or too short, or that most people are turned off after a few weeks, and me once again leaving a game that could have been truly great, and returning to WoW.
this is awesome game. and by the way there is sith clan starting if you want to involved in one of the strongest old republic clans then answer the dark side's call. Prove yourself worthy of commanding the sith, and indulge in the wealth of power and dominance. We have broken through and emerged from the shroud of the dark side.

KOTOR 3 Would have had ten times as many buys as this. I looked into this and they made a mistake. They could have built KOTOR 3 and 4 by now. But they didn't because Bioware and LucasArts doesn't do what the fans want. They do what they think might be interesting, even though they are probably wrong half the time...

Or maybe took place in the prequel trilogy during the Clone Wars, in which you are one of the jedi apprentices in the old jedi order on Coruscant being sent on a mission somewhere, results in you finds out you're Revan's descendent or something. Meanwhile, some dark forces took advantage of the war to uncover the secrets of the Sith Empire 4000 years ago. (Just my idea ^_^)

@Alekpowah We won't completely know how the game will look until is out for retail, but even if it looks like this it would be fine for me. Graphics are only to get people that know nothing about the game interested to play it, but most people here know what the game is about cause they've played KOTOR but in the end game play and story is what keeps you playing the game, and graphics get old fast.
@MotherPunker970 Lol, I'm almost sure it will work because you can always use the lowest settings and if not any new computer should run it, you can get a good computer for under $300 so star saving up now.
@Alekpowah the graphics ARE actually pretty good... Firstly its an MMO and they rarely have anything but below average graphics, so the graphics are pretty good for an MMO, and for an MMO alpha engine theyre actually damn good

every game looks like shit in alpha, many graphic layers arent added until the gameplay and world are completely finished, you seen killzone 2 without its full rendering? it looks like crap but with a few layers of graphics it looks beautiful,
dont expect anything amazing graphics wise till the beta

I laugh so hard when people see alpha testing, or even basic bare-boned gameplay released to fulfill fans' needs to see what it will look like, and instantly base their opinion that the game sucks and fails hard. Guys, it isn't done yet, so shut the hell up. You are more than welcome to say the game sucks WHEN it is fully released, and you actually play the game. For now, shut your faces and go away.

@Alekpowah We won't completely know how the game will look until is out for retail, but even if it looks like this it would be fine for me. Graphics are only to get people that know nothing about the game interested to play it, but most people here know what the game is about cause they've played KOTOR but in the end game play and story is what keeps you playing the game, and graphics get old fast.
