  • I have a News Flash for Everyone Matthew Sweet Is A Christian artist. He left a very successful band of the 70s To pursue a career as a Christin artist He was among the first to record under a christian label, and has appeared with the likes of The Newsboys,Petra,Mylon and broken Hear ,Whiteheart, and DeGarmo &Key among others.

  • @Larry731000 you're thinking of a different Matthew Sweet. He was just a kid in the 70's and never recorded an album until 1986.

  • @earthboundcruiser I dont think so. The album I am refering to has his top 10 hits Take Me Home And All I Wanna Do Is Love You.It was after the release of this album he did an interview with CCM magazine. This is the same Sweet From this video.;

  • @Larry731000 Wrong guy, he wrote no such songs.

  • @earthboundcruiser The Name of the cassette that has these songs on it is Matthew Sweet Matthew Sweet. I have the casette . Look it up. It was released in1994. Both of theses song are christian top 10 songs. He went on to sing with many of the early Christian bands.

  • @Larry731000 His album from that year was Son of Altered Beast he then went on to perform with Susanna Hoffs of the Bangles.

  • unreal love it

  • No such thing as "grunge"; media bs label. I have lived in Seattle my entire life and played in rock bands for over 10 years around town, if it is called anything it's the Seattle sound, but really it's just rock n' roll. That's all, nothing different or fancy. As Mick said it's only rock n' roll and I like it.

  • @lovingcounty are you kidding me? Those bands know like 3 chords and couldn't guitar solo to save their lives. Flea is about the only talent on your list! Smashing Pumpkins suck so bad. Same with Nirvana. 3 chord wonders who did nothing but whine. The 90's sucked

  • @robfolcroft if you think billy corgan only knows three chords, i think that disqualifies you from talking about any music at all.

  • Always brings back good memories :)

  • THANK YOU for good music.

  • Why is Lum in so many of his videos?

  • such a good tune, and I love the guitar solo, classic Richard Lloyd

  • Matthew this is one of the greatest songs written ;) all kinds of reasons -3 Call me 801-699-2715 or Facebook Tammy McNeil I'm also a singer let's do something!

  • A great peice from the 90s! Great song! Where is this today? It's not to be found. Poud to be a gen-x-er!

  • i use to have this album on tape now i wish i still had it back when pop/alternative rock meant something now its pure teeny bop bullshit

  • Guitar reminds me of Dinosaur Jr.

  • @WelfareRobot right. his persona reminds me of mikey teutal. ha!

  • I'm beginning to think, baby you don't know whoa whoa, i'm beginning to think... baby u don't know %^(@#$@#$%$%^^ One more time :)

    What a classic song.

  • This is proof that good music will always penetrate the soul directly and not through mass media. If it gravitates towards mass produced garbage in/garbage out high money/low scruples media a la MTV, it's not going to penetrate the soul of anyone who deserves one.

  • Its like this. The Big Bang then Mattew Sweet. Everything else inbetween was all hooey and monkey business.

  • Excellent song. But I'm sorry, that is an atrocious guitar solo.

  • @kermitneville I don't think you get it. It's part of the contrast. The ugly distortion and solo contrast the beautiful chorus and melody.

  • fuckin' badass!

  • I love this song...

  • 1970 Dodge Challenger - plum crazy

    Richard Lloyd - hospital bed

  • I heartily agree with the other commenters... this song is fucking GORGEOUS. Pure and simple, 3 minutes 37 seconds on how to write a GREAT pop tune.

  • "100% FUN" IS THE SHIT!

  • Such a good song. God, music was great in the early to mid '90s. Long live (in memories) 107.9 The End in Cleveland.

  • @gordonsolie007 totally. i miss the good stuff.sad in illinois

  • @gordonsolie007 Music was absolutely HORRIBLE in the 90's!! BUT this is a great song from that era

  • @robfolcroft I guess when I think of the 90s I only consider the "grunge" music. Aside from that, I would say that 90s music did indeed suck. I just never considered that any other genre of music was present even though it was. For me, 90s will always equal "grunge"...

  • @robfolcroft lol horrible? Candlebox Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, The Chili Peppers... The list goes on.. It rivals any decade even the magical 60's and is way better than the 70's 80's and present

  • why is it only showing my views...lol

  • When MTV was still relevant....

  • This is just a flat out tremendous tune. I heard it on Lithium this morning when I was driving and thought to myself..'Holy sh*t I haven't heard this song forever' and immediately cranked the volume. It's just so raw...sounds like it was produced in a garage. What a freakin' decade!

  • voices r too low imo

  • I 'VE LIKED MATHEW SWEET FOR A LONG TIME AND WHEN 100%FUN CAME OUT I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A SELLOUT BUT BOY WAS I WRONG!!

  • This is a great song with proper hooks. Masterpiece.

  • Matthew Sweet is a lost gem of the 90s.....

  • Under-rated!!!

  • I'm begining to think, baby U don't know !!!!

  • Ahh the 90's...these were better days.. :)

  • i can't stop hitting the replay button.

  • Am the only one that wants to cry because of this sing? Just because of how good it is & how much I miss the 90s!

  • Matthew Sweet is what real "pop rock" music should sound like!

  • Hey, remember this? When MTV actually played MUSIC?

  • Pop masterpiece * YEAH*

  • 90s pop ftw!

  • classic 90's best decade to be a teenager in hands down or at least the LAST cool decade to grow up in 80's and 90's child hood is the best now i hate new music unless its indie

  • This is Good! Very good! Great! Love the solos!

  • @kazar77 completely hit the dislike button by accident, love everything about this song!

  • Love this song. Matty Rules!

  • Wow...the ONE song I cannot find on youtube AT ALL - seriously there is no trace of it ... it's called "Everything Changes" by this guy (Matthew Sweet) ...

I remember hearing it once while my sister was watching (when we were little - way back in 1995) the 'Baby Sitters Club movie ... I found it once on limewire, but since I changed computers I can't be bothered to install it..I thought it would be on youtube..I can't believe it's not ... anyone else find it on here? I would appreciate it alot

  • @ammarios There is a song "Everything Changes" by Staind. Perhaps are you confussed with Matthew Sweet.

  • @ginowanderino Sweet does indeed have a song called Everything Changes ("but change itself, you can take out, what you think you know, put it, aahhh, back on the shelf")

  • @ammarios It's on the same CD as this song. 100% Fun.

  • Great lyrics and chord progression

  • fabulous song writer.

  • Random Fact: "100% Fun" (Matthew Sweet's album's name) was a reference to Kurt Cobain's suicide letter....

  • @rebelyell1983x : reference? Maybe his childhood too given the album cover picture? I wish all children have 100% fun because as time goes on the hedging starts and grows until is B.S. is overwhelming.

  • Oh man this song reminds me of my silly Junior High crushes. eeeks!

  • Todays generation shoud be ashamed of themselves for not producing quality music like the 90's did...

  • All these people nostalgic for the ninties!! Wtf, it wasn't that long ago!!

  • @tomfy1979 lol hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaa classic that is too funny!

  • I wish I could travel back to the 90's. It was a better time

  • It is cool that he drives to the hospital to let Richard Lloyd play his solo! It was through Richard Lloyd that I discovered Matthew Sweet in the first place.. Matthew is way underrated.. I love his music... Thanks for sharing =)

  • @novocain13 - the story goes RL was pretty sick actually, but on the mend enough to have them film the solo from his hospital bed...pretty gutsy & clever call by all parties. just watching him ape his own solo has it's own glory to it. it's the only reason i watch the video, that and to see MS' girlfriend in the clip. who is she ?

  • Stoner dude!

  • I remember falling inlove with this song before I knew what falling inlove was. 5 star song!

  • This pretty much reminds me about everything of the 90's i still can remember, so i love this song & video for that.

  • What the hell happened to you Matthew Sweet?

  • B, F# E ........amazing three chord song !!! Great song.....and what a BEAST of a car 70's Challenger !!!

  • a power pop standard...amazing!

  • this is good shit. takes me back.

  • Compared to life and music today, the mid-90's was such a sane era.

  • Agreed. This is pretty much the most bad-ass, romantic piece of pure pop pulp ever. I love it now as much as I did then. Maybe even more.

  • Definitely one of the greatest pop songs ever written.

  • A real genius....he should be a worldwide star......travesty he isn't...

  • Victory music.

  • ahhhhh i love this song

  • beautiful vintage song, when rock was rock

  • i love this song big time!!!

  • Lincoln, NE bra native............give me back the 90's

  • this song always makes me feel good.

  • This takes me back to a summer spent at my grandmother's in Denver. I was 14 and bought this album on cassette tape. Blared this song on my headphones while I walked her dog.

    Memories.

  • man....thats something you can always remember...good stuff

  • Man this brings back memories! It just occurred to me how Sweet looks a lot like Peter Fonda...

  • Folks, this is how a true pop masterpiece sounds. The chorus is goosebump inducing. Matthew Sweet could belch and it would be catchier and more melodic than anything by The Jonas Brothers.

  • @TIMOTHYSAARINEN You are as right as right gets. For my dinero, THE finest pop song ever produced.

  • @TIMOTHYSAARINEN classic power pop!!! todays music is just shit

  • remember when mtv actually played good music? ha hahaha jokes in us. now were old.

  • great audio for youtube good work!

  • all time fav Sweet song.

  • roccckkkkkk

  • I love this SO much!

  • My roommate Jeanne and I used to play this song over and over and jump around the apartment until we were exhausted. It's a good thing no one lived below us.

  • damn this was a song from my good ole days...damn I love it

  • Anyone else miss the good ole days?

  • i'm glad that whole trucker hat thing DIED.

  • This song is so good it makes the hair on my arms stand up .

  • yup...me too! This song always had a huge effect on me.

  • At the very beginning, there's a picture of Lum on the wall~!!! <3 Urusei Yatsura ftw~! ;)

  • Here is an experiment for you. No matter how many times you try, you simply cannot leave the volume at (or lower than) the same setting at which the song starts. There is an uneasy sense that if you don't turn up the volume, the song might just stop altogether. How does he do it?

  • This guy is so underrated. I love his music

  • the melody keeps going till he runs out of breath, then he takes a quick one and keeps running with it. Killer song.

  • damn didnt hear anything about the st louis show sorry i missed it

  • first cd i ever bought

  • Just saw Matthew Sweet and band in St. Louis. Very cool rocker and great singer. Also, love this song.

  • hey ya to you a few comments back mtv sucks so does much music what hppend to the music and videos those were the real days when people were real

  • matthew has a nice car in this video. 69' challenger

  • Richard Lloyd on bedpan lol...what a smokin' solo btw. he & Quine rip are so NYC.

  • How the F does this only have 24,000 views?! One of the best songs of the '90's.

  • i agree!

  • hey I remember this song from back in the day, i so miss MTV in the 90's I used know all the words to this song it was my favourite song I totally agree MTV sucks now terribly, i wish there'd be a pure 90's channel

  • haha A very pretentious comment ;)

  • all matthew sweet fans should listen to Teenage Fanclub! you'll discover days worth of music that is just like this. rock n f'n roll!

  • If I had to work as sales clerk in chain music store then I had the fortune of doing so in the early-mid-90's. The meteor that was Nirvanna killed off the dinosaur hairbands and opened up opportunties for artists like Matthew Sweet to get some mainstream exposure because record companies appeared more willing to take risks than they had just a few years prior. It was a good era for pop/rock music. Thanks for posting this video- it brought back some nice memories!

  • Great song! Love it... but - Please bring back "The Thorns"!!

  • thats real rock

  • Um...there aren't many power chords at all in it...heh. But is is an awesome song.

    Love this song!

  • holy man.....!!!~#@!~ this is a song im learning and it's fun it has tons of power chors and stuff umm i rate this 10/10 yeah its is so swicked! boo yeah love it go happy face wars =[] ;l =) =() sweet o ye

  • Damn, what a great tune. Might be my favorite song of all time.

  • Fabulous song, love the 2 fake endings!

  • AAAhhh, another awesome song that came out during high school

  • hate to say, but it came out when I was in college. i'm old.

  • Fake ending times two! Wish it would go on forever!

  • One of my all=time favorite songs from (perhaps) my all-time favorite musician. Absolutely awesome.

His new album, Sunshine Lies, is AMAZING.

  • One of THE best ROCK songs of ALL TIME!!!

  • Yah this was around the time when MTV went to shit and took Rock and Roll for the ride, or is that shitty perception, alcohol perhaps...

  • Agreed, MTV sucks hard now.

  • MTV has really slipped since the old days...did I say old days? Sound like my dad these days.

  • rippin'

  • One of my all-time favorite rock songs!!! CLASSIC!!!

  • SWEET!(:

  • he truly is underrated and needs to write more songs again...his last name his awesome too

  • Ya he is truly underrated, so many good songs has come from him.

  • mtv used to play music videos??

  • I think this is one of the best pop rock songs ever. Matthew is gifted at creating these melodic power guitar gems with feeling. A great artist; Where's he been?

  • Well, he made a pretty cool album for the Japanese market a while back, which made its way over here and is available at Amazon.

Also he's Sid of the duo named Sid 'N' Susie -- Susie being Susanna Hoffs of Bangles fame. They did an album called Under The Covers Vol. 1, and it's all handpicked covers of their favorite '60s gems. Not as good as the originals (how could they be?), and I have to say that Matthew's voice doesn't really blend too well with Susanna's, but it's still pretty nice.

  • i love this song

  • Is there any more 90s artist than matthew Sweet? I love that decade.
