  • you didn't have to be high but it really enhanced it especially at the minute 53 second part

  • Intense.

  • Best song on Vol 4, it weighs more than the Titanic.

  • Its official folks, the orginal Sabbath lineup are going to regroup and record an album.

  • @TheMarkster1957 dude no shit? are you serious? another album? where did you find out?

  • @skateboardmcgee On that Metal Show a while back when Tony Iommi was the guest he said the possibility was there because he and Ozzy were getting along better, then not long after that I read on Yahoos home page that it was official Sabbath will record a new album and tour.

  • They invented heavy metal,,period

  • @mummylips I wouldn't say they "invented" heavy metal. They laid the groundwork and built the foundation. I mean, at the time when they were putting this music out it wasn't like Iommi and Ozzy were saying they were inventing a new style of music. They just took their influences and expanded upon them and by sheer chance everything seemed to come together perfectly and out of it came Metal..the first true Metal band.

  • its even better live people.

  • rocknrollhoochiekoo1, I would like to offer you my ass to eat my shit. You seem like a shit eater

  • @nickc387 Haha that's probably the best comment on here

  • This is about as metal as it gets. It can still freak people with the same impact as the Beatles' hair in 1964. The lyrics are still badass!

  • jesus fuck i cant get over that god damned opening riff it wont let me sleep.

  • YEA @ necr086 lyrics man im diehard know words 2 ALLRIGHT I DONT KNOW WHATS HAPPENING HA HA

  • amazing song composure lyriscism, and most of all the godfathers of "heavy metal. much like top shelf bud, this inbibing of this will rip your mind into two like 50 year old tissue paper that a god just pissed on and pulled apart. thank you Black Sabbath.

  • The first 30 seconds would make Chuck Norris sleep with the lights on

  • Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck Yeeah...ROCK AND ROOOOOOLLL mother fuckers!!!!

  • I watched Tony Iommi on That Metal Show one day and he told that Vol. 4 is his favorite Sabbath album,he also went on to say that another album with the orginal line up is still a possibility,so we'll see.

  • @TheMarkster1957 i fuckin love this album, and when did he say they may possibly release a new album?

  • @TheMarkster1957 i fuckin love this album, and when did he say they may possibly release a new album?

  • @sabbathblackk He didn't really say, just that the possibility is there.

  • What a fucking track. And then followed by Laguna Sunrise nonetheless

  • oh fuck ya, i drift off into stoner land when im smokin to this shit. the long sabbath songs, where tony iommi is layin it down on the solos, best shit ever to smoke to

  • hey guys.....i love weed....and i stopped to get a job.....but this is still awesome....that zone out you get on the sweet leaf does surely contribute to the experience of music in the sense that i am with god when i play my guitar lol

  • Weed is so 'safe' easily excepted.. Next

  • @dannyhood66 Wow man I cant (remember) where I put my car keys,,,LOL!! I smoked weed for 35 years and I wouldn't go so far as to say its ((SO SAFE))

  • @bedrockamp2 You guys are super stoners!

  • @dannyhood66 Super stoners?? Im just an old hippy that feeds off very loud guitars. My lungs just cant take too much smoke any more,, an occasional diesel bud is about it,,,,LOL!! maby some mescalin when I go camping in the mountains. Thats all!,, Thats it,,, well schroom tea when I dont go to the mountains,, buts thats all except %*&^(*^$%())) ???????? I have to sit down for a spell.

  • @bedrockamp2 You fuckin hippies have all the killer shit!

  • great song

  • From the beginning to 0:32, quite probably the very first "Doom Metal" riff ever.

  • The intro riff is dirtiest, surliest, slimiest, drunkest, heaviest, most sinister riff ever conceived.

  • @mikexlong fuck yeah! eyehategod did an amazing cover with a bunch of sabbath songs, that riff included

  • I'd love for Meytal Cohen to do a drum cover of this song!!

  • the thing i like the most in life is to be stoned out of my mind and listen to this album

  • Comment removed

  • The riff at 1:45 is fucking GOD

  • aw shit its so fucking heavy and great! ohh shit!! aaaahhhhHHHHHHH *head explodes*

  • I can't name my favorite Sabbath song. It used to be Planet Caravan. Now it's a 4-way tie between Planet Caravan, Hand of Doom, Snowblind & Cornucopia. Fuck it. Every Sabbath song is fucking awesome.

  • "Illusion helps to keep them sane" Sounds like Obama supporters too me.

  • Comment removed

  • I like this song it tells me I shouldn't waste time trying to correct Christians or people that have whacko phobias or people that are wrapped up in religion, and yes, money chasing is a religion.

thx sabbath I feel better all ready I think my blood pressure has dropped a few points.

  • The only real way to understand this album is to be tripping on some liquid sugar cubes!!!

  • i love the guitar intro!

  • @jamesocaster "

frozen food in a concrete maze

  • if it wasnt for sab' and mary jane i'd be a bitter individual

  • my favourite part, is when ozzy starts yellin "I DONT KNOW WHATS HAPPENING!"

  • Yo check out the 1st video in my favorites (good person) its really heavy, Thanks dude later =)

  • IM A GOLDEN GOD.....IM ON DRUGS!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @dougiefreshny Okay Robert Plant. . . .

  • @keelywearsprada You dont know what movie that is from im guessing

  • @dougiefreshny Please, the movie is Almost Famous. But in real life Robert Plant actually said that..

  • heavy like an anvil.

  • wtf is up with every one say "PLATES?" it obviosly FRICKIN MAZE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • how can anyone ignore this classic tune, its the perfect combination of stoner, rock 'n roll, and METAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • great tune i agree with rspk25,true dude.true.

  • Oh yeah, weed is great! I had some good times on that stuff but the only problem was it started to get in the way of my life. I should've kept a better lid on it but goddam I fucked up. Still, weed rules!

  • 1:44 Is the most epic shit in the fucking world.

  • @clamb147

Dude, if you're high and you turn the lights off when that happens... shit gets twisted, bro!

  • tony iommi invented heavy metal

  • fuck to the yeah

  • People think your weird because you like listening to the best most original heavy metal group ever? Maybe you should think their weird for listening to modern crap.

  • Opening riff is like WOW

  • I think this song is fucking rockin'. Instruments rockin hard as hell, vocals nice. Black Sabbath was the first rock band I began to like, they paved my way to really liking rock. Even though I'm a young black female from the city, this is what I call real music. I know race has nothing to do with it, but most of my peers dont appreciate this kind of music and think that I am corny because I love it. Hail Ozzy

  • @Tat2edTwinsMom1 Same for me, my friends think I'm weird because I like Black Sabbath. I like rap too but I'll take this over some Waka Flocka Flame bullshit anyday.

  • Black Sabbath>

  • Ozzy's on his way out, freeze his body until we have the technology to revive him, ok? thanks :)

  • Guys I think we're missing the point here. If you read the lyrics I have come to think that...this is a song about consumerism and the way we live in a modern capitalist society (Live, work, consume, produce, reproduce...and die) The abundance of goods and services (and all sorts of stuff created for our so called needs) and how these things in most caces fail to make us trully happy or give a meaning to our lifes. Hence the sarcastic title Cornucopia (symbol of abundance). What do you think?

  • @IkarosK Correct my friend. Beware.

  • @IkarosK i had similar thoughts

  • pedazo de riffs wn magistral

  • awesome song!and of course black sabbath are the best group ever containing iron maiden!

  • all sabbath fans!!!! be sure to visit my site blacksabbathinfo.webs. its brand new, and i have no members.....i would appreciate you sabbath fans joining the site as members, commenting on disscusion forums, news, photos, etc. the site is relatively empty, but as more members come, it will fill up. please join for the legacy of black sabbath!!!!!!! tell everybody you know about the site.

  • Ozzy saved my brain

  • Slipknot", "Disturbed fuck those bands that stuff isnt evn music...

For you old dudes listen take a listen to " Her demise my rise - Stay Strong "

Listen to their demo .. music Fuck the singing but take a listen to thier guitar riffs

  • I don't judge anybody who smokes weed with this stuff, to each their own, but I like my Sabbath to hit me with no distortion of my senses. I love the way Tony Iommi tuned down his guitars, now all of the big, heavy bands like "Slipknot", "Disturbed",etc. do this as a matter of course.

  • @usblues100 but weed makes sabbath sound 20x better.

  • @usblues100 YO nigga, it doesnt distort our senses, it gives us a true understanding on how awesome the world is, while making us hungry

  • @TheBurntoast Their world is our world, they would only know eating worms out of a log if it wasn't for us!

  • Fuck all that weed talk. I was rocking out to this shit when I was a little kid, way before I had ever tried any mind altering substances. AND Sabbath still kicked ass

  • @rocknrollhoochiekoo1 Ever since the stoner metal movement started, everyone is all giddy talking about Sabbath being a weed smoking band or listening to Sabbath while smoking weed. Here's a news flash, almost every rock band at that time was smoking weed and most people listening to all types of rock music were smoking it too. Hell, people were listening to New Riders of the Purple Sage's "Panama Red" and Grateful Dead's "Casey Jones" both which had overt drug references. It doesn't mean

  • @undahousearrest Yeah it pisses me off when that's all people talk about. It makes me think, so would you NOT like this song if you weren't high?? Good music is good music and this certainly classifies as good music to me. There are a few groups that are huge right now, like Sound Tribe Sector 9. I personally find them extremely boring and when people talk to me about them and how awesome they are, I always get the same response, " Bro you have to be on something to get the full experience."..

  • @undahousearrest Fuck that!!! If I have to be high to enjoy something, then it isn't worth my time. It's all about the music that MAKES you feel high when you listen to it; that's where it at!! SO all you people that have to be high to listen to Sabbath, go back to your Sound Tribe Sector 9 or Bassnectar bullshit. Disclaimer: sorry if you like those bands, I mean no offense.

  • @rocknrollhoochiekoo1 Bassnectar is killer especially with buckethead.. I grew up listening to sabbath toni iommis primative neandethalic cut off finger riffs, the end of the 8 track days ... This riff always seemed to prove toni had more heart than he does brain.. Big primitave and stupid= heavy.. ha!

  • @rocknrollhoochiekoo1 I definitly don't need to be high to listen to Sabbath. As I'm perfectly sober right now and enjoying the shit out of some classic Sabbath. I do think weed sometimes helps you focus in on the music better and helps you actually hear everything going on within a song. It is true that weed definitely enhances listening pleasure. Nothing wrong with blazing on a joint and then putting on your favorite Sabbath album (vinyl is preferred) and getting lost in the music.

  • Comment removed

  • @rocknrollhoochiekoo1 hell yeah thats exactly how i feel and why i listen to sabbath!!

  • @rocknrollhoochiekoo1 why you hatin on bassnectar wtf....

  • @trynabcool If I wanted to hear farting noises I would just eat beans

  • @rocknrollhoochiekoo1 who needs to be high? you clearly need to smoke a joint.

  • Respond to this video... It doesn't mean that if you smoke weed you will listen to music like this or will enjoy it more...It's just a way for people to feel cool and say, hey I smoke weed...Geez, Johnny Cash was snorting coke and smoking weed what the hell does that mean.

  • if you think music sounds great on weed try some X , why do you think its so popular at clubs where they play techno

  • @madeinpolonia techno is gay n so is X u fairy..

  • @DuzRyd hahaha, obviously you've never been to a place where you go to meet women, hell i bet youre still a virgin, am i right? just the fact that youre replying to my stupid comment says that you have a lot of free time that you like to spend in front of the computer proly looking at gay porn sites, you fucking homo, go fuck yourself

  • @madeinpolonia u just contradicted by replying to me FAG n i dont need to go to a place where ppl are over emotional to meet girls yes X is GAY u over emotionally charged homo go listen to techno n leave sabbath to the metal heads ...fairy

  • hmm this track is like something off from Master of Reality with its super heavy riff lack of melody and slow tempo, still good though.

  • riffmachine..!!

  • Funny y'all are mentioning WEED...I spent a lot of time my senior year listening to this disc while wasted on good stuff like northern lights, Kona bud, and Thai sticks. I feel sorry for Cymrutube below he/she doesn't comprehend that music sounds different, and better while soaring on THC.

  • @alternatehistories haha man kids are doing the same shit, except we put on bongripper and go on journeys haha. OG doom metal like Sabbath is always a good trip too though.

  • @alternatehistories

    LOL!!!!!!!!!!

  • @alternatehistories Weed and sabbath until the end. Nothing beats a good bowl of that grand daddy purple while listening to some good ol sabbath.

  • @rspk25 AGREED!

  • @alternatehistories Thats true to a very high degree, without sounding like a drug endorser its obviously true that every sense is altered towards a more sensitive and usually positive response -food taste, music, overall creativity and patience is enhanced because the ultimate source of all senses "the mind" is working in a completely different zone, of course this balances out with short term memory loss and the potential for emotional dependence, as always moderation is key

  • @MightySaturn5 that is an awfully good explanation dude! And we didn't have to pay $150 an hour.

  • @MightySaturn5 fancy meeting you here. after hearing you talk about the gut wrenching minor chords and such when you first heard sabbath i figured i'd listen to some more of their tracks from this album. haven't been let down so far ...

  • @alternatehistories It's funny, I've never gotten high off weed - ever. I guess I was born with a high tolerance to the stuff.

On the plus side, I don't need it to appreciate this music. However, Black Sabbath does sound better after I've had a few beers.

  • @WeAreDevo456 You're supposed to smoke it not shove it up your ass.

  • @StoneyMcJuicyBuds The only things I've gotten from smoking pot are nasty coughing fits and a pair of scratchy lungs. And regarding your comment, I'm not sure what your problem is. I don't see a need to be hostile, so just relax and take a few hits. You'll feel better.

  • @alternatehistories this whole album and some of the previous 3 make me wish I had some "sweet leaf". :/

  • @91nickt Yeah...I know. I'm supposed to be a responsible grown up now...but one of these days I'm gonna get some bud, do a bong hit and then crank up Volume 4 when the weed buzz kicks in!!!

  • @alternatehistories

That makes two of us. I wear a tie to work. So, pass the bong and watch me spill bong water all over my nice tie.

  • 3 someone need to get is ass kick

  • @CYMRUTUBE because smoking weed is great.

  • @apkts

Dude check out the 1st vid in my favorites its pretty heavy

  • smokeing cracks great for satan

  • @apkts yep

  • @apkts weed is firme

  • Its about people's meaningless desires. And their inability to see through the bullshit.

  • @OzzyFan87 well put my friend...well put :)

  • Classic and Legendary.

  • 2:07---2:11 is so fukin catchy, i mean other than the whole other song which is just a badass fun song by a badass band

  • @CYMRUTUBE I just took the shopping cart home with me :)

  • 01:49 so good.

  • My favorite tune on the album. Never could understand what it's about, though. "Frozen food in a concrete maze"? What's that about? Also, whom is he talking about "Freedom's yours, just pay your dues, we just want your soul to use"?

  • @IwshIcldstrtover Frozen food in concrete plates

  • @andy5421 Sorry to disagree, but it's "a concrete maze".

  • I liked the diminished tritones ("The Devil's Interludes") starting with the same diminished 4th in Black Sabbath/Black Sabbath when I first heard it in 1969. I heard this piece in 1972 and I loved it ever since. I love Codeine too. When I heard the short musical riff at mark 0:55 through 1:02, the very sound reminded me of Codeine. I got that contact "high" just from listening to this piece.

  • HEAVY AS HELL!

  • bill ward is nearly getting fired at this track!

The drums were to hard for him

  • @jessal02tc It was because they were all so fucked up on cocaine during the recording of this album, they could barely function. It happened during the recording of Under the Sun as well.

  • gggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttt!!!!

  • this song and other black sabbath songs are so ahead of their time in terms of heaviness. if they had modern production, it would be the heaviest thing going today.

  • No, I think the production at the time is what gave the songs a lot of their heaviness. If they would have been recorded today, they certainly wouldn't sound as good.

  • @EpicMachineSH that's a good a point. I like the way it sounds already and it would sound crappier today because digital recording takes the life out of all music. I'm sure it could be beefed up with todays production and new gear.

  • Iron Monkey FTW.

  • @Jamesinnit Haha their cover was pretty fuckin awesome wasn't it...

  • Exactly how heavy do you want this muthfuckin shit ?

    Pure Sabbath Brilliance.

  • Osbourne and Iomi. Incredible together.

  • super macabre riff

  • This is a killer album!!! I remember my dad was so pissed because all i ever wanted to do was rock out to sabbath lol! Luckily I hid them at my friends house because my dad wanted to throw them away! And here I am 32 years later I still have them! Best yet I still listen to them with my nephews and daughter!!! Rock on Sabbath forever!

  • @kutulu6 Why, they are just classic rock? Hahahaha funny though

  • what was tony thinking when he came upon this riff, so dark, to this day, there is nothing as dark as the intro to this song,

  • @vanhalen515084

didnt you know tony invented the power chord, therefore he owns all the riffs that it produces ;)

  • great.

  • Greatest Sabbath song next to Hand of Doom.

  • When I clicked play on this vid.....First my face was punched..then a demon leaped on my lap and started pulling my eyes out. it was fucking Awesome. Seriously though, that fucking intro....INSANE!!!

  • I recommended this song on a radio show back in '96. Don't know if anyone cared, though. Anyway, I tried to spread awareness of this song, 'cause I think it's one of their most underrated.

  • badass fucking song, all i can say

  • other bands have played louder, lower and slower, and other bands have been more br00tal, or "necro", but the bottom line for heaviness is riffs, and nobody riffs heavier than Iommi.

  • you people critcizing this are nuts this song is killer

  • sab had so many great tunes. listen to that guitar, and drums!!

  • So fucking embarrising and cave man stupid, It's bad ass!..There's no shame in sabbath, as the same way it is with nature..Don't be a shamed unless you know you did something wrong..hahaHA!

  • The beginning is the best, the rest rather disappoints me for sabbath standards...

Am I the only one only clinking in for the beginning ?

  • @HispanicImpression

Yes, in fact, you are the only one who can't dig the rest of the song. No idea why, maybe it's because you've got no soul, not sure.

  • @mussman717word Yeah, that sure is the reason. I don't like one tiny piece of sabbath's great opus, so I'm totally crap... thanks for the enlightment...

  • @HispanicImpression Yeah, the beggining is the best... but then the song evolves and... can't relate the feeling it gives me, you know? But it's just kinda... rocks hahaha

  • @HispanicImpression

I agree. The intro riff is the only interesting part of the song.

  • aw man i wish i lived in the 70's i feel like i missed out so much

  • @HomerJSimpsons64 man! i feel the same every day.... i hate to be born in 1994, i wish i was born in huh....1955 or something like that, so i'd be in the best time of my life during the heavy metal age D:

  • DOOM!

  • HAHAHAAH People can get high if they want to,, this is America damet

    =)

  • why do care so much about what i do? pass that cone and get a life man... and enjoy sabbath--- or else !

  • OKAY, marijuana isn't a PSYCHICAL addiction, BUT people can make it a habitual thing.

  • yes. true. but when u really think about it anything can become habitual. for example: shopping, video games, sex and gambling.
