Yep... that's what I've been doing. Then I drag the two images into Photoshop for some airbrushing to smooth things out, because it is VERY hard to get the two lined up. Just thought there had to be an easier way. Thank you. If you come across a simpler solution, please let me know and I will do the same. Happy Holidays.

Hi Thanks for answering. This is just for mock up in Illustrator, not to actual wrap a bottle with. Purely for presentation purposes. However, the MAP ART only lets you pick specific surface and I want the whole bottle covered. Again, this is only for 3D rendering in print instead of waiting for samples and taking pictures. Does that help clarify or do you know Illustrator can not achieve this. Tried MESH and WARP, but then lose the shading. Any other suggestions?

@DesignersLab4u ahhhh I see. I have never tried this before. I would try pinpointing what part of the image you wanted on each part of the bottle and make separate images / symbols for each part. I know that is kind of involved and will be very tricky to make line up properly but maybe you can strategically crop and save your images in a way that makes it easier for yourself. If you can crop in areas with not much detail that will help to line it up with the other mapped images.

Hi. Love the tutorial. Wanted to know how to wrap a whole bottle, like the 5 Hour Energy bottles are done, the heat wrap method. This "MAP ART" only let you do specific surfaces (zones). Could you enlighten me? Thank you.

@DesignersLab4u This method would work if you only want to preview what your bottle would look like after it is finished. It is a good technique to use for presentations or to showcase a product. If you would like to actually heat wrap a bottle with your art you would send whatever printer is doing it a pdf document of whatever you want on the bottle. Thanks for the great tutorial. My only trouble is that my label keeps wrapping on the inside, but unlike your model, I have 3 possible places to put my symbol, bottom, top or inside. How can I get it on the outside?

@bedesignd It is hard to say what is happening without seeing your screen. I know when I was prepping this tutorial I simply kept trying to place the label in the wrong position. I would try placing it in different positions and then experimenting with the gray and white areas that you are placing it on in the plane. I hope that helps!
